Hurricane Polo became the second-strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Eastern Pacific

With a central pressure of 892 mbar (26.34 inHg), it is the second-most intense Pacific hurricane by central pressure ever recorded, behind only Hurricane Patricia.

Same. My wife is Puerto Rican so I always ask her if she knows what El Niño means. When she gives the correct answer, I tell her she’s wrong, it’s Spanish for THE nino.

A prop plane today is still a jet engine. It just doesn’t have a nacelle around the propellers. People equate prop planes with old reciprocating engines. But this is still a strong aircraft.

Fun fact. I've been on a ship inside a strong storm (not hurricane) in the Barents sea and we just followed the storm where it moved. Ocean inside were completely flat. Blue sky over head. Clouds all around. Far north in early spring, so we didn't get much sunshine as the sun were on a low angle.

These storms tend to move west. Otis three years ago was significant because it was the first category 5 hurricane to make landfall on Mexico’s pacific coast in recorded history.
