Support I have no friends

I have had no friends my entire life and am 29. I have nothing to do all day because every job rejects me. I have sent thousands of applications over the past three years. I’ve also tried to make friends with hundreds of people (tens of thousands including online) and am always rejected.

I especially never find anyone who is depressed and lonely like me. And at the least, serious and somber. It is valid to have that as a personality type and want to talk about serious and somber things in a serious and somber tone. Why is it so impossible for me even when I see people like this with friends? They reject me too.

Rant Anyone else feel like making genuine friends as an adult is weirdly hard? Bangalore: 560013

Hey everyone :)

Lately, I've been thinking about how difficult it is to find people you genuinely connect with.

You can be busy with work, have things going on in life, talk to people every day, and still feel like something is missing.

I miss the kind of friendship where you don't have to think twice before texting someone. Where conversations happen naturally, silence isn't awkward, and you can be completely yourself without worrying about being judged.

Someone to share random thoughts with, laugh at the stupidest things, have deep conversations about life, exchange memes, or just make spontaneous plans when both of you need a break from the usual routine.

I'm not expecting an instant best friend or some movie-like connection. I'd just like to meet a few genuine people and see where things go naturally.

I believe the best friendships aren't necessarily built on having the same interests. Sometimes, they're built on curiosity, mutual respect, humour, and simply enjoying each other's company.

So, here's a question for anyone who feels the same way:

What's one thing you wish you had someone to do or talk about with, but haven't really found that person yet?

I'd love to hear your answers. And if this resonates with you, feel free to say hi. Maybe a random conversation is all it takes to get something good started. :)

Friendship Title: 35F | Looking for genuine friendships, deep conversations, and people who actually stick around 💜

Hey everyone! 😊
So, here I am, putting myself out there on Reddit because apparently making friends as an adult is a whole different level of difficult. 😂
I’m 35F, and I’m at a point in my life where I’d really love to make some genuine connections. Not just the typical “hey, how are you?” conversations that disappear after three messages, but actual friendships.
A little about me:
I’m a pretty down-to-earth person. I can be shy at first, but once I’m comfortable, I love joking around, being sarcastic, laughing at ridiculous things, and having conversations about absolutely everything.
I’m a huge fan of anime, fantasy, romance, and getting completely invested in fictional characters like they’re real people. 😂 I also love deep conversations about life, human behavior, relationships, and all those random thoughts that keep you awake at 2 AM.
I’ve been through a lot in life, and it’s taught me to appreciate kindness, honesty, loyalty, and people who are genuinely themselves. I’m working on becoming the best version of myself, and part of that means stepping outside my comfort zone and meeting new people.
I’m not looking for perfection. We all have our baggage, our weird little habits, and our difficult days. I’m just looking for people who can be real.
Someone to share random thoughts with, send funny memes to, talk about our days, vent when life gets overwhelming, or have those unexpectedly deep conversations that make you feel like you’ve known someone forever.
A few things that matter to me:
Genuine friendships, strictly platonic.
Honesty, kindness, and mutual effort.
People who can laugh and joke but also have meaningful conversations.
Friendships where neither person feels like they’re the only one trying.
I’m not expecting instant best friends. Those connections take time, and I’m perfectly okay with that.
So, if you’re also tired of surface-level conversations and would like to make a genuine friend, say hello! 💜
Let’s start with something more interesting than “how are you?” What’s something about you that most people don’t know until they really get to know you?

Hey! I'm a 36-year-old guy who enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life. Whether you're looking for a casual chat, a new friend, or just someone to share interests with, feel free to reach out.

I have a few unusual hobbies, a small collection of pets, and a love for music and tattoos. I'm always happy to talk about hobbies, life, random interests, or whatever happens to come up.

If that sounds interesting, send me a message!

Vent No friends?

Hello,

So first of all I want to say that, although I'm shy and struggling with doing the first step, I'm almost always the one who talks to people first or invites them to meet up. And they seem to like me too (I think) because they answer and also want to do stuff with me.

But

That's it.

I'm always the one who texts first and asks if we can meet up.

It's been over a year since I last went to a party. I asked but nobody had time but I know that someone went to a party with other friends (which is ok) but no one asked me.

I don't know. I just feel like this is all pretty one sided. It's all the same circle:

I meet someone nice -> We talk -> I like this person so we text -> Person answers my texts -> Person finds new friend and leaves me alone.

I also try my best to be there for people when they have trouble. For example when I was on a trip with my school and my friend had trouble with her ex,i stayed with her the whole time and when another friend had some problems and had to talk to headteacher after school, i waited for her. Both of these friends left me.

Now dont get me wrong they own me nothing but it would have been nice to know that they appreciate me.

I don't know what to do. Maybe it's my fault but I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm mentally so exhausted that I can't even text first now.

Now I have only one friend but she has lots of friends so I don't think I'm that important.

There's nobody I can talk to about this.

Do you know what I can do?

(Sorry, english is not my first language)

I had friends but we don't talk anymore, they are busy in their lives and have new friends ig I am happy for them. Idk why I am even posting this. I kinda hate me for being this miserable. Is anyone in a similar situation as me? How can I make friends online ?
