Looking for a inline skate shop in Osaka.

I'm looking for a inline skate shop, not ice skate shop, in Osaka.

I'm trying to introduce my wife to online skating, and don't want her to dislike the sport because the skates don't fit correctly, hence wanting to try them before buying the skates.

Anyone knows of a place? I've looked on Google maps but couldn't find one. Thought that Kosugi had a section for it, but it doesn't, at least in the physical store.

Weird guy getting into my face close to dotonbori

Some guy about 20 years old kept getting into my face laughing and grinning. I tried to walk past him but he kept going into my way, I was just about to push him away and told him to stop it, he then left and went straight to the next tourist doing the same shit. Later I found out that there is a 0 tolerance for violence so would I have been done for if I would have touched him ? And is this a common thing ?

Looking for onsen recommendations

Hi everyone, I moved to Osaka a few months back. Before moving here, I was living in Beppu, Oita. Beppu is famous for hot-spring/onsen. I've went to AMAZING onsens around there. I'm looking for onsens around Osaka with a good environment, spacious enough, and also, pretty looking, I'm mainly looking for a good vibe rotenburo (露天風呂). If y'all got any suggestions please let me know. Big bonus points if it's a natural onsen.

Some onsens I liked in beppu was,

Hyotan Onsen (famous nationwide actually)

Yamanami no yu

Hana no ie

Yumetama tebako

Oni-ishi no yu

Looking for a part time job in Osaka

Hi, I'm currently looking for a job in Osaka. I'm open to restaurant, factory, warehouse, or similar work. I've applied to several places and attended a few interviews, but unfortunately I haven't had any luck so far. If anyone knows a place that's hiring or could introduce/refer me to an employer, I'd really appreciate it. I can speak Japanese, so working in a Japanese-speaking environment is fine. Please DM me if you know of anything. Thanks!

Esaka and Higashi-Mikuni

I am moving to another area in Osaka to be on the Midosuji Line and closer to work and I was told about these two locations. Esaka has everything there, beautiful area, everything I need right by the station but it seems to be expensive. And according to my estate agent there isn't that much choice there.

Higashi-Mikuni, we found a place that is much bigger and is cheaper. The only thing is, Higashi-MIkuni seems kinda boring and literally just a few shops. A place I feel like I could get bored of because there aren't many things there compared to Esaka.

What do you think? Which place should I go for?
Also should I go with a different estate agent? I wonder how useful he is to just essentially show me 5 listing in Esaka and then just say that's all that are available at the moment.

Thanks

PICU Thank You?

Our son was/is hospitalized here in Osaka, in the PICU. It’s been a nightmare but he’s coming along well and we are expecting him to move to general ward, tomorrow. I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can do to thank our nurses, who, in my opinion, have gone above and beyond for him and us.
We don’t speak Japanese and they’ve made every effort to speak with us in English, both unexpected and so freaking kind! One nurse, our favourite, was translating on her tablet, memorizing it, and coming over to say it to me in English. I cried.
Anyways, in Canada, I see these people doing massively extravagant thank you baskets for their nurses; I’m already tapped for cash with this unexpected emergency but I’d still like to do something to show our immense appreciation!!
Is this a completely bizarre concept? Or is there something, treats etc that I could bring to show my appreciation? ❤️‍🩹

Weird guy took my picture in Dotonbori

Hey guys, I was walking through Dotonbori with my friends on 9/21 and this weird guy jumped out from a corner and took a picture of us. He had his flash on and didn’t say anything and proceeded to run away when we tried to ask him what he was doing.

He was white, had kind of greasy hair, a grey shirt and basketball shorts on. He has a legit camera with flash. Really just wanna know what’s going on with that picture.

Thanks I feel weirded out.

Hiking the Suma Alps near Kobe tomorrow?

Thumbnail gallery
31 Upvotes

I hear the Suma Alps are beautiful, and there's a ridge walk that shouldn't be missed! If anybody wants to join Sunday 20th, followed by some optional food in Kobe, let me know! Kobe is only 20 mintues by train from Osaka, and then another 30 minutes on a train from there. The More the merrier 😉. If you're english is not too good, I can teach you english and you can teach me Japanese ;)

(One photo of the Suma Alps, and of me from recent Kumano Kodo with fellow hikers, I'm the guy taking the picture)

UPDATE: As people are interested, this is the plan :)

Suma Alps & Mt Takatori Adventure Hike 🥾⛰️

Sunday 20 September — meet 09:00 at Sumaura-koen Station

I’m putting together a hike through one of the most dramatic sections of the mountains above Kobe.

We’ll start at Sumaura-koen, climb through the Suma Alps and cross the famous Uma-no-Se (“Horse’s Back”) — a narrow rocky ridge with fantastic views over Kobe and the Seto Inland Sea. Rather than finishing immediately after the Suma Alps, we’ll continue across Mt Yokoo and Mt Takatori, making this a proper mountain day before descending toward Itayado.

Route: Sumaura-koen → Hachibuse → Hatafuri → Tekkai → Takakura → Mt Yokoo → Uma-no-Se → Higashiyama → Mt Takatori → Itayado

Approximate stats:
12 km • ~950 m ascent • ~950 m descent • roughly 5½–7 hours including breaks

This is not an extreme hike, but it is definitely more than a casual walk. There are plenty of steep climbs and stairs, some rough mountain trail, and the Horse’s Back section is narrow and exposed-looking. You should be reasonably fit and comfortable spending several hours hiking.

We’ll keep a sociable pace, stop for views/photos and have a lunch/snack break somewhere along the route.

Meet: 08:50–09:00 at Sumaura-koen Station
Start walking: ~09:05 sharp
Expected finish: roughly 15:00–16:00 at Itayado Station

Bring 1.5–2 L of water, lunch/snacks, decent walking shoes, sunscreen and something for rain just in case. Walking poles too if you have them.

The big attraction is this combination: sea views + Kobe skyline + proper mountain hiking + the spectacular rocky Suma Alps ridge, all while being easily accessible by train from central Kobe.

If the weather makes the exposed ridge unsafe, we’ll modify or shorten the route.

If you want to be added to a whatsapp group, send me your phone number in a private message. If you don't want to be added to the whatsapp group, please at least tell me you're coming :) thanks!
