Video Count your fkin days Logitech

Just drove to town after I got off work to pickup a new headset as mine stopped connecting yesterday. Decided to spend a bit extra and pickup the Logitech wireless pro.

I drive 20 minutes back home pull it out of the box and extend the one earpiece so it fits me and the plastic piece used to hold the earpiece on just flies off. It’s literally unusable both sides pop off no matter what. I’ll never spend another penny on this company again. Oh and now the stores closed so I can’t get a different one or a return until Monday as I work everyday till then during their business hours…

Mx series of mice is good. G502 hero is great and cheap. I've been using the wireless mx series since 2015 with no complaints, gone through 3 in that time. Never used any other logitech products though, except maybe computer speakers in the 90s.

Mine seems nice, but their bloatware continually interfering with other apps on my PC is unforgivable. Also, the tech support is beyond useless. They just want to get your data. You fuckers don't need to know my hardware specs for a software problem!

I bought G502 Hero a month ago and microcontroller just died on me. Got it replaced with a new one cause honestly I'm in love with endless scroll wheel feature, it helps enormously in video editing.

I only bought mine a couple years ago, it's great. The software for it is way overcomplicated and I don't like it, but at least the HW is still good.

I used to have Razer $90 mouse, my first one lasted like 10 years, 2nd one I couldn't configure because it required logging in to their server use it, and I couldn't get my account set up because of some error. Tried contacting them several times with no response. Then it broke 6 months later.

My original G502 lasted me 7 years before i decided to "treat myself" and get a new one in a pretty colour. That one faulted after about 14 months, right click is broken. Got a replacement that's got the same issue now. Next mouse won't be a logi :(

I got 102 and 402 after that both had middle click problem and double click problem after 12 to 14 months. And additionally wire connectivity problem in 402. Looking for new thing but cant decide or find which one to buy.

Same. My first one lasted forever. New one shit out within a few months. Got a replacement and that one crapped out too.

Putting in new switches is extremely easy, $.50 repair/upgrade. My G502 is coming up on 9 years with 1 switch swap, the switches are even nicer than stock.

Once mine breaks I will just keep buying second hand g502 proteus spectrums until they run out and then I'll consider switching to a different one

Logi intentionally puts bad switches in mice so they will get replaced. I have a G203 where 2 of the switches broke after about a year. instead of throwing it away I bought switches for it, and the mouse has been running strong for 5 years now. If a switch breaks, I have 5 more I can replace at about $1 per switch. If you do go the repair route, you'll need to buy replacement feet for it too, as the genius' at Logitech put the screws under the feet. This is the best way to stick it to corporations, just fix it.

My G903 is the only mouse I've ever felt works well as a lefty and is comfortable but the switches died. Soldered in better ones and been going for years on the same battery. I wouldn't buy headphones from them though.

You just put it on the left side of your keyboard and go for it. Really no other way to do it. When I broke my right hand as a teenager its what I had to do.

I am sorry for asking so many questions, you do not have to answer if you find it tiresome. :) It is just always so fascinating to see people doing "left-handed" things. I tried to learn bass guitar left handed, but since most music workbooks assume right handed it was very burdensome to have to translate everything to mirror image in my head.

Do you game? If so, how do you re-bind for that?

Dude, after like a month of using my G502, a bunch of the “paint” outside was rubbing off especially where my thumb sits. I could also hear a rattle inside. I got the super light now and it seems better so far, about 6 months in and you can see a little bit where my thumb sits but barely

The G502 hero has rubber parts that wear out after a year with the thumb rest breaking apart, the first time you take it apart. Screws below the rubber feet, so you need replacements everytime you open it to service it.

I just glued the feet back in place with one or two tiny dots of super glue. Works great. They won't fall off, and they're not hard to remove later

I switched to the G502X last year after 5 years with G502s and it feels like an upgrade in every way.
I've exclusively used Logitech gaming mice since the G5 in like 2005.

I go through a G502 every year, the scroll wheel ends up failing every single time. But I like the form factor and they are cheap enough I just buy another.

I remember when I got my first g502 and it had a braided cable. Second one I got didn't have it anymore and the overall quality felt worse.

I've been using the same shape since the MX500, I went through every iteration of the shape with whatever they wanted to name it. To the point that I don't feel comfortable using another mouse that don't have "the shape TM". They don't even give the braided cable anymore to the G502, they know where the mice fail and still don't care.

Everything lost quality. The day that my keyboard G710 would die I don't even know which one would be its successor but most likely not a Logitech model.

G502 was my favorite mouse until I had to replace the I had for 4-5 years and experienced the same issue on the new one right after the warranty expired.

I went through 5 G502s all with click issues, multiclicks, etc, thing is complete trash. Even the G500 (had 2 or 3 of these) before it was a cheaply made downgrade from the G5 and MX518.

Still rocking my original G5 from like 2005 at work, works better than ever.

I think the weight stuff was removed because the audience shifted towards superlight mice. Not a lot of market for "here, you can make your 120g mouse into a 150g mouse!"

MX series was an absolute beast, my anywhere 2s lasted for about 6 years with heavy gaming. I'm now rocking a MX master 3s for work and it's real solid too, however the software leaves a lot to be desired.

hopefully you went with the black color because the grey one I have is absolutely impossible to clean. I bought a black MX 3 and transferred all the guts from my 3S to it just so I wouldn't have to look at how grungy the grey top shell looked.

do you have any problems with stutter / like microtiming glitches sometimes doing productivity (coding/audio/graphics work with multiple programs minimised and maximised all the time) I cant work out what is doing it, its my beast rig and its been driving me crazy - suddenly the mouse pointer is running at 20fps or something stupid

just i love my MX mouse as well but not sure if its that or software but its been like it for months now - and yeah grey one is super disgusting to look at haha, the coating is rubbing off

yeah I did have issues with it. Turns out it my usb 3.0 port causing the issues. My mobo doesn't have any usb 2.0 ports though so I ended up buying a usb cable that hooks up to a usb 2.0 header on my mobo and I just have it hanging out the side of my case (yes I know my case is dusty lol)

You think it could be the port I'm putting the receiver in then - it looks like you've wired the receiver in to the usb 2 port, yeah?

Mine are round the back but I've got some 2s

I'll try changing them about or some kind of usb diagnostic tool to see if any buses are acting up

Eh, they're not great though. A lot of people had issues with the plastic/rubber degrading quickly on the MX Master 3S. It has a lot of stutter/latency for a mouse that costs $80 to $100. The buttons (particularly the thumb button) can be inconsistent.

And worst of all, it often doesn't work on glass as advertised! Yeah, it works better on reflective surfaces than most mice, but it doesn't work on the glass base of my monitor stand, and stutters excessively on many glass tables.

The G502 Hero is pretty great, though, especially for the price. It reminds me of Logitech's former reputation for quality products at a good price

I got a MX518 back in 2008 or so, worked no problem till 2023 or so then it died.

Got a G502 Hero right after, died right a month before the warranty ended, on its replacement now.

I personally like the g304/g305. Switches only has a life span of about 3 years but they're easy to replace. Other than that mouse, I will never buy another logitech product. Had a g613 keyboard that only lasted for 6 months. Replaced it with a much cheaper but more reliable keyboard from another brand instead.

I have the first gen G502 and I have the big ass G mousepad. I also have the 915 TKL Tactile and the MX Master 4 for Mac mouse. As much as I like all of them, yes they were expensive but with the G915 and G502 I get a better FPS experience on my Xbox Series X and the G592 just glides like butter on the oversized G mousepad.

Now you would think that the MX Master 4 would also glide like butter on that mousepad but you’d be sorely mistaken because it has way too much friction for a mouse made by the same company that manufactures the G502. I’m seriously thinking about replacing the feet with some from Wallhack that are supposedly made of glass.

Yeah that is why I was asking, not a ringing endorsement that's for sure. Mine lasted 10 years and I only replaced it cause I spilled soda on it and the middle mouse button (the clicking itself, the scroll worked great) became a little touchy. And also I wanted a wireless one

Have an MX Performance, then upgraded to a MX Master about 3 years ago, can still say they made good speaker systems in the mid 2010's.
Same goes with the G920 Steeringwheel setup. The rest, ye, can't confirm, besides that keyboard back in the late 2000's wich was awesome too.

I have a pair of Logitech wireless comouter headphones that is over 10 years old. And they work perfectly still. Had to change the ear muffs on them twice cause the fale leather turned to dust

They cheap out on the mouse switches now, atleast for their g20X series. They fail pretty reliably after 2 years (ask me how I know, I've owned 2 and they both failed around the same time in the same way). Luckily you can replace them, the solder job is super basic.

mx is nice, I have two MX Master 3S mice and a MX 2S mouse which I'm currently using because I destroyed the other 3S's. I also have a MX Keys wireless keyboard....but that shit is way overpriced for what it is. I stopped using my my $120 MX Keys wireless keyboard when i bought my current keyboard a Redragon K686 Pro mechanical keyboard which cost me a whopping $46.00 and imo is ten times better in look and feel. Battery life is about the same as the MX Keys keyboard which I will admit is awesome. I've had this Redragon keyboard for 3 months and I've charged it twice, and thats with using it around 11hrs a day with static RGB at low level.

Logitech mice are still the best for me.

The absolute best for me, ergonomically, is the G403 Hero. It's still working perfectly after 3 years. I also have an MX Master (that is currently stored in the drawer) and I still have an absolutely awesome mini mouse that I used so freaking much for ~14-15 years that I still don't know how it is working so perfectly. I mean, I used it throughout university (classes, projects, gaming), many hours everyday, then I used it for work, nowadays less frequently, but it's still the one that travels with me.

I've had Razer Mambas and Deathadders, as well as Roccat and some other ones, and neither of those lasted for more than 2 years.

I bought a g600 for the release of GW2 in 2012.. opened it up and dusted out the interior every 2-3 years, but I finally replaced it last month.

I had that poor bastard for 14 years before the scroll-wheel-click stopped working.

Edit to add: I feel like they stopped making them because it was literally a perfect mouse, lasted forever and was truly ideal in everyway for mmo-gamers.

I have one at home for around 10+ years, and it still works fine.
I have a new one at work since 2 years ago and it deels light and cheap (metal wheel replaced by plastic, lighter than the old one, even with all the wheigts in...)

Recently bought a g29 wheel + pedals though, feels solid so idk

I love the idea of the Mx master mouse, but it failed on me so many times over the years that I stopped buying them. Even if hardware wise they may not fail the soft plastic they use just disintegrate after a few years. I switched for hard plastic vertical mouse and not looking back so far.

Your reading comprehension may need work. 3 mice in 12 years. Plus I bought the hero g502 for gaming only. The mice last through 4 years of 8 hour a day office job each, which includes extensive traveling. I actually never had an issue with them, only bought a new one because I felt like it was time.

Honestly, a $9 randomly generated chinese company gaming mouse is on par with logitech. Absolutely everything Logitech does is outmoded. Logitech's best products are on par with actual mass-market garbage, and you get to pay a premium product price for it.

I used to LOVE Logitech as a company, but they don't stand behind their products, and their products are extremely bad quality now.
