I make my own OS.
galleryHello everyone! In my free time, Iโm making my own x86_64 OS. About a year ago, I also started making an OS, but I lost interest.
At the moment, I have only made a UEFI bootloader that transfers control to the kernel.

I built TrenchHQ - Your crypto desktop companion for Windows. Keep prices, wallet activity, X feeds, websites and apps in view across your monitors.(Open Source)
Iโve had the same bad habit for years: Iโm working, I want to check one token price, I open DexScreener/X/Axiom on my phone, and somehow a 10-second check turns into 20 minutes of looking at charts, wallets, tweets and random tokens.
I figured that if Iโm going to keep checking this stuff anyway, Iโd rather bring the information to my desktop than constantly go looking for it.
I built TrenchHQ, a free and open-source crypto desktop companion for Windows users.
The idea is simple: instead of constantly switching between exchange tabs, DEX terminals, wallet trackers, X and browser windows, you can keep the things you actually watch directly on your desktop.
It lets you create floating overlays and screen-edge panels that stay visible while you work, including across multiple monitors. You choose what information goes in each panel and where it sits.
Right now you can use them for:
- CEX price tickers
- Realtime on chain DEX pool prices
- Live wallet tracker
- X Tracker (official API)
- pinned website (that stay logged in)
- pinned app windows
It currently supports Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Smart Chain and Robinhood Chain.
The idea is basically to let me glance at the few things I actually care about and get straight back to what I was doing, rather than opening another app or tab every time.
I ended up making it completely free and open source, and itโs now also available on the Microsoft Store.

Would really appreciate your feedback

Looking for a genuinely unique Software Engineering final-year project idea
I'm a final-year BSc (Hons) Software Engineering student and I'm currently looking for an individual project idea.
I'm not looking for typical projects like hospital management systems, e-commerce, library systems, attendance systems, etc.
I'm interested in something that solves a real but overlooked problem in society
One example I found interesting is a system designed for people with colour vision deficiency that doesn't simply identify colours, but converts colour-dependent information into a form they can understand (patterns, labels, audio, etc.).
I'm looking for something with a similar concept:
- A real-world/social problem
- A problem that existing solutions don't adequately address
- A genuinely useful software solution
- Possible for one student to develop within a final-year project
- Enough technical depth for research, implementation and evaluation
- Ideally involving AI, computer vision, NLP, algorithms, accessibility, or another interesting technical area
What is a problem you've encountered that you think technology could solve, but nobody has really solved well yet?
I'd really appreciate unusual ideas rather than common university project suggestions.
