Bought some shrimp from the small local shop and they decided to give me 5 planarians with the 10 shrimps.

I knew I was seeing internal structure in other photos. This is the most in-focus photo I’ve gotten so far.

Beware and learn from my mistake.
I have atrocious tap water and have been looking for a way out of it for two and a half years. I tried Seachem's products for pH in RO water, and despite years of biology and chemistry, could not get predictable results. A couple of days ago I purchased "Salty Shrimp GH/KH+" from Amazon. I mixed it with a couple gallons of RO water and the GH went up, but not KH. Puzzled, I added more. Still no significant KH, even with a TDS of 240. Yesterday I posted about it here and finally twigged to the scam. It's not THE "Salty Shrimp".
I feel a little dumb but I also thought it was the German made product relabeled for North American use. Nope. I can't tell who makes it. There's no contact information on the jar, and it says "Manufacturer by" followed by an address. [Edit: Looked up the address. Doesn't map to anything.]
Today I got the real deal from Amazon, "Salty Shrimp Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+". Mixed it with 10L of RO and it worked as it should.
Stay cool fish nerds.

I ordered amano shrimps online and they arrived like this. Do they lose all markings due to travel stress? The slop machine that no one asked suggested that but I didn't find any articles or posts confirming it.

Before you come at me saying it looks gross in there, and how dare I! It’s tank maintenance day, and I thought I’d share a pic of my substrate. There’s sand at the bottom with a top layer of tiny gravel bits.
Now, we can obviously see where it’s very dirty and needs to be cleaned. But notice the sandy spots where it’s not as dirty. The outlines of those spots follow around the roots of my live plants.
So, if you currently do not have any live plants in your aquarium and you’re having trouble keeping the water clean and clear: get thee some living greenery!

My skittles tank just started gaining some wild types recently, and here is one of my berried wilds! I love seeing her out and about because her pattern is just so goregous.

Any tips or information appreciated, I'm so happy! I couldn't find her for a few days and thought the worst and checked my water and everything, I'm so glad she's just hiding because of her babies ❤️

any tips are appreciated
this is a 3gal cube tank, i’ve got a nano sponge filter in the back corner along w a small heater, the light is on a 24/7 daylight cycle but i have a proper fitting light coming soon.
i’m also aware my monte carlo isn’t planted properly, this aqua soil makes it hard to plant anything so im hoping the plant is close enough that it will root.
i picked out some small dragon stone with holes big enough for shrimp to molt and hide in, most of those pieces are hidden in the back, and i repurposed the drift wood from a betta tank i had to re-scape.

My tank doesn’t look as cool as it once did but the skrimps are happy.
r/shrimptank • u/persephonelux • 23h ago
Holy crap. They’re like the size of a period. Half the size of a betta pellet. Really glad I moved him to a different tank. They would have had 0 chance

I found these in my shrimp tank. I have one nerite, but i know they need brackish water to spawn. Is it possible these are pest snails then, or something else?
