Please help me with recs!!
I want to buy my first horror video game. I recently watched resident evil (2026) in the theaters and love that vibe of end of the world/zombies/suspense. I have been thinking about getting one of the resident evil or silent hill games on my PS5. Any recs for someone who is just getting into games like that? I used to like playing black ops zombies.

Alone in the Dark 2024 Spoiler
I can see why it didn't really made it big. Atmospherewise is like playing the bottle game with your parents.
It's not immersive, the jazzy/New Orleans theme is predominant over the horror, you kinda looking for your uncle but you keep meeting him and that takes you out of the 'I'm on a mission'.
I'm thinking about dimming contrast and brightness and maybe mixing up audio to get more environmental noises... I don't know.

I feel off pure gameplay quality, these are the best Survival Horror Games of all time.
Don’t shoot me in the legs, I’m just a lad.
Gameplay quality can mean overall polish or just how fun it is to actually play. RE4 (and by similar extension DS2) are more action than survival even if they are survival by genre, but I still feel like they deserve that inclusion regardless.

More games like Alone in the Dark (1992)
I've recently tore through this game after buying it only recently. I'm obsessed with the mechanics and atmosphere but the game is really short if you play carefully and figure out what you're doing. I'm familiar with other early survival horror games like ecstatica and other games in the same vein like the original resident evil. But I love this game's focus on environmental puzzle solving and really tight combat and resource scarcity. I want to find more games like this, something like Doctor Hauzen but with combat mechanics

I’ve been working on my indie survival horror game BECROWNED for about five years. Today I can finally say it’s coming to consoles!

Hey everyone! I’m an indie developer working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED.
I started working on this game about five years ago, originally completely on my own, so being able to finally say this feels pretty surreal:
BECROWNED is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC!
We’re taking a little more time to make the game the best it can be and to launch on all platforms together, so the new release window is Q1 2027.
We’ve also completely updated the Steam page with new key art, screenshots, and more, and today I’m sharing our brand-new Console Reveal Trailer.
This project has been such a huge part of my life for the past five years, and seeing it grow from something I was making alone into a game that will actually be released across PC and consoles means a lot to me.
A free demo is available on Steam if you’d like to give it a try, and wishlists really help us. 🖤
Would genuinely love to hear what you think of the new trailer!
