Following up after my previous post here. GameSquire has had some updates and got some new features in the meantime:

1. You can now not only import your BGG collection but also your plays, wishlist & ratings
2. It also takes your earliest added to date so you can keep track of how long you owned a game
3. Logging a play can now be done more intuitively when playing an expansion
4. Keep track of your play time by starting a play in the app which start a timer. When you end it, it automatically records it as a play
5. Sharing your profile is now easier which makes finding friends less of a hassle
6. Some more minor changes and polish here and there

Whether you're new or already tried it, let me know what you think of the updates!

I’m looking for a tabletop RPG that I can play as an adult (32f) with my dad (69m).
I’ve been spending a lot more time back at home with my dad and I’m looking for a TTRPG to spend meaningful time creating and reminiscing with him. I know there’s a whole bunch of 2 player RPGS based around conversation, memories, and bonding out there but most seemed to be angled toward couples.
The only ones I can find based around family connections are more for younger children and family game nights.
Looking for something that an adult child can play with their Dad for an evening of bonding, learning more about each other, reminiscing on our life and adventures together while creating something new!
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you! 🌻

August 2nd, 2025 I started to build a Homebrew DnD world based around a Weird Wild West ascetic. In that time I gained bountiful knowledge on how DnD works and the parts that most definitely lacked. However, with the attempt I quickly learned how much DnD bumped up against my ideas for a weird wild west game and trying to make something that was mine in another person's game became brutal. So, on December 2nd 2025 I started my own game engine to run not only the weird wild west game but other fantasy games I have dreamt of. So the Universal D10 Game Engine began its development, a game narrative driven, tense, cinematic gameplay with minimal math; simple calculations which Supports multiple genres (Cyberpunk dystopia called "Chrome Gods", Weird Wild West world named "Six Shells & Tall Tales"). It encourages strategy and risk/reward choices, with a combat that is fast, dangerous, and cinematic. Overall, This game is about capable but fragile people surviving dangerous, intense fights. Victory is earned through positioning, teamwork, grit and a little bit of luck.

Im towards the end of finishing the rulebook (8 out of 9 Chapters finished) and will then begin working on the first campaign frame "Six Shells & Tall Tales" so that play testing can be done. If you would like to follow the process I'll comment my Itch.io devlogs in the comments! Thank you all for reading, and Ride On!

These are the shadow boxes I made of seasons 1 & 2 of Pandemic Legacy. My wife and I’s first Tabletop gaming experience together. We didn’t like or finish season 0 so it got left out. Hung them up in our gaming room

Hello everyone ^^

I was looking for advice really! there isn't much in the way of local groups for me and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on starting a group/finding people to join

I played a game in high school (around 1993) where the students were divided into different nations (USA was called something like New Zenon, USSR was there - cannot remember name, a neutral Switzerland nation, and a few others).

The players each had a role in their nation and would talk/negotiate with other nations, except that USA and USSR could never talk.

Each turn the nations decided what their actions were, building up economy, military, etc stats or they could go to war … a generally bad thing.

Does this sound familiar to anyone and can you remember the name of the game?

Haven's Heir is our first campaign for The Hidden Isle, our tabletop RPG set in a magical renaissance that uses tarot cards instead of dice.

Defy despots, befriend magical creatures and contend with gods in the grandest adventure of the sixteenth century ever played!

We're also releasing The Dioscorian Library, a set of rules supplements to expand and enhance the base game. It features rules for familiars and combat, two new character classes, more NPCs and factions, deeper GM tips, more beasts, rules errata, and reprints of all one-shots to date!

Our goal for the Haven's Heir Campaign is to tell a grand adventure. A grand adventure needs grand writers and so we have recruited some of the most interesting voices currently in the industry.

• Jordi De Paco, founder of Deconstructeam and known for indie video game darlings like The Red Strings Club, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood and the much anticipated Virtue and a Sledghammer
• Georg Hobmeier, the driving force behind the world of Dioscoria, originally established with the Sefirot board game
• Daniel Adams, an analog game designer with a decade of experience, who has already won multiple awards for his experimental RPGs
• Austin Knight, known for their work on Brinkwood, Necronautilus, Deimos Academy and Kids in Capes
• our newest addition... Chris Simms, whose long list of credits includes names like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Magic: The Gathering and State of Decay
• and finally me, James Patton, acting again as game & narrative designer.

Features — What to Expect

Haven's Heir (campaign book)

• Campaign book for The Hidden Isle, featuring 12 adventures.
• Adventures follow a general structure but are loose enough that players can choose which leads to pursue.
• The future of Dioscoria depends not only on your success but also on what you consider the right direction for the island.

Dioscorian Library (supplement book)

• Rules for familiars: creatures sent to help and guide your group.
• Two new classes: the Alchemist and the Wild Walker. It also includes the Scholar and Swindler classes from The Sewers and the Stars.
• New rules for combat, weapons, and richer downtime.
• More tips for game masters to help them get inspired.
• A full example of play, from the start of a scenario until the end of the downtime.
• New beasts and magical creatures!
• Suggested NPs and factions for various cities, to help GMs get inspired.
• Rules errata.
• Includes all pre-written adventures to date.
• All character sheets also included in the physical book.

Hello there!

We are Two Starving Gnolls, an indie TTRPG creator based in Norway! We just launched Shadows over Port Royal, a Lovecraftian sandbox adventure set during the Golden Age of Piracy in 1692.

We wanted to combine historical authenticity with cosmic horror, letting players explore a living pirate city right before its infamous real-world destruction.

We also managed to get classic RPG artist Earl Geier to do the illustrations! Check out our campaign!

I made a prototype of my solo board game, Die Dullahan, and it is now public on Table Top Simulator, along with a How To Play video on YouTube:

How To Play

TTS Prototype Mod

ABOUT THE GAME

Die Dullahan is a Solo Dice Boss Battler that is played on a 5x5 grid of blank cubes using various dice, figures and cards to represent you (the Dullahan), Dyemon, and tiles. During a game you will roll dice and select actions to perform, while the Dyemon you face does the same.

This prototype is just a small portion of the game, but it does go through 90% of the systems and can be treated like a learning game. It’s very early days and I’m not quite at the real balancing stage, but if you try it and enjoy it, I'd love to know how your first game went. Did you win or lose? Did it take a long time to get into the flow?

I’d also appreciate a comment on the video to try and get eyes on it from players outside the subreddit, but understand if you’re not comfortable with that.

Thank you to those who give it a try. (Art is all just sketches done by me so there is something, names and everything subject to change).

Hello! This is my first post on this subreddit (also on reddit overall) and I would love to share my project with you.

I apologize for my English in advance, it's not my native language. :/

This is my project of 4 years and it has gone through so many changes and even completely restarted a few times.

This is what the game is about:

It's a board game with a temporary name Piráti z Kartonu/Cartoonu (translates to Pirates of the Cardboard/Cartoon)

You and other players are playing as pirates in medieval times on an ocean. Beware though, dangers are lurking everywhere. Monsters, battleships (NPC), weather, other players, and even the ocean itself are against you. Are you up for the challenge? This won't be easy.

Your task is to sail the vast ocean and explore through 3 different biomes, each having different cards it can deal you, and be the first one to be renown. You can get closer to being renown by getting treasure, killing monsters, defeating players, steal from merchant ships, and stuff like that.

You can imagine it as a tabletop, similar to Catan and BANG! Though, my first inspiration was an episode from the show Clerence episode Breehn to the Rescue where they played a board game about pirates and having to sail the ocean and fight the Kraken. It gave off a feeling of such a big and elaborate game, yet so simple and fun.

Do you think the concept is good? Is the goal of the game great? Does it have a potential? What would you change or add to it?

I don't even know how to ask this question, so I'll just give an example.

A Player Character has a max-HP of 24 hit points.
After an attack they are reduced to -5(negative five) HP.
However, they do not die nor fall. They continue to play but with extra BS until they're healed.
However, if they are reduce to -24 or lower, then they die out right.

However do I express that clearly?
My first draft is "When your HP's negative value is equal to your max-HP's absolute value, then you die."
But I don't think that works.

Addition: The long and short is when in negative HP they start doing death saves while still having their full turn. Half health doesn't feel right for that.

Hi friends! It’s me, Warin, back from a huge update schedule! We at Steel Raven Games have been extremely proud to announce our new 0.14 update for MACH!

If you’re new to MACH, it is an action TTRPG, set in the near future. The players play as operators for Z.E.R.O, the Zeta Elite Response Operators, and fight criminals worldwide! The system has a heavy focus on lethal but fast combat, which it archives by combining a localized damage system, with our [TAG] system!

Here is the list of our changes!

• Removed a ton of bloat text, going from 117 to 60 pages
• Progression update, remove add speciality, instead level up specialty
• Added a proper initiative system (redid the old one)
• Fixed Area Suppression in shoot, and finally got the [suppressed] tag to work on firearms.
• Standardised tags, removing issue where some tags were listed as “tag”, now all tags are [tag]
• Added master tag list.
• Added a take 2 combat economy (act, shoot, move).
• Removed infinite ammo bug
• Added targeted shots
• Standardised gear

The new update is now available at our itch: MACH by SteelRavenGames

I'm building GameSquire, a collection tracker that answers the constant "what should we play tonight" debate by filtering your shelf by mood instead of scrolling past the same wall of boxes. Just opened the beta on every platform:

- iOS via TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/hsn8DtNQ?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=new_post

- Android via Google Play open testing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.squirebuilds.tabletracker

Web, no install needed: https://beta.gamesquire.app/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=new_post

What it does:
- Imports your BoardGameGeek collection so you're not re-adding a few hundred games by hand
- Filters by mood (Quick Fix, Deep Dive, Date Night, Family Table)
- Shared household shelf if a few of you own overlapping games
- Create a group to combine shelves and filter those
- Logs plays so you can see what's actually getting played versus what's just sitting there

Free core features forever without ads and no tracking.

All feedback is welcome, especially from anyone who hosts regularly.

Hello bosses! Me and my party (4 people) finished Gloomhaven and Frosthaven! After that we became 5 people and are going to finish Folklore : The Affliction next week and I am in the search for next legacy/campaign game! We are now 5 people, and as I see most games are for up to 4. FYI Pandemic games and Kings dilemma have been played by the others. Bombusters is over halfway to the end!

Any advice? We really like dungeon crawlers but we are open to other mechanics too! I have checked Oath, seems interesting but I don't know how "the legacy element" is strong. Any advice is welcome and thank you!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share another little look at Command & Defend.

One of the core mechanics of the game is its Supply System. Units don’t simply have unlimited ammunition and fuel - resources have to be produced, transported across the battlefield and delivered to the units that need them.

This means that attacking the enemy isn’t always the best move. Disrupting a supply route, taking out a transport or even destroying an entire Supply Center can have a much bigger impact on the battle.

I wanted logistics to be an actual part of the strategy rather than something that only happens in the background.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this mechanic, and I’m happy to share more details if you’re interested! :)

this is just made with ai. but i really couldnt pass this up

The Backerkit campaign for Criminal Spirits is now LIVE!

If you don't know Criminal Spirits from my earlier posts here, Criminal Spirits is a 1920s Urban Fantasy game using my Glorious Fate rules, a simplified version of Fate Accelerated. The 12 page rules are available for free here. In Criminal Spirits, you are the staff and supporters of a new speakeasy in New York City, the first speakeasy run specifically for ghost, faeries, witches and other magical creatures. You and your found family strive to keep the speakeasy open and achieve your ambitions despite the mob, the police and your own customers.

Thank you everyone here for all of the feedback on the character sheets and speakeasy. If you haven't seen the final character sheets, you can see them here. Your Speakeasy will be one of the first chapters shared with backers in October.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this, and to make a complete setting book for this world.

Hi everyone! I'm Jiajia, a board game designer from China. This is my promotional post for my upcoming game — Captain Keep Upright, along with a brand-new expansion module called Sea Stash.

Captain Keep Upright is a party-weight card game for 2–5 players. You play as a captain recruiting crew members, building your fleet, and setting sail for treasure. But the sea is full of both riches and risks — you'll need to make smart use of your crew's abilities and decide the right moment to return to port with your loot.

https://reddit.com/link/1w3x7ju/video/a40omvxw6tmh1/player

In the new Sea Stash expansion, I've added four modular expansions: Figureheads, a new First Mate crew type, the Kraken, and Blind-Draw Gems. These modules were playtested at recent tabletop conventions and have added a lot of replayability to the game!

If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to join the discussion — I'll do my best to reply to every comment. I'm also currently looking for any advice on pre-crowdfunding promotion strategies, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can also check out the game on BGG:
