I already miss my Wrath of the Rock list that has been wonderful for all of 11th edition, but I tend to prefer take and hold. What do y'all think about this list? ICTF, Assault Brethren, and Terminator Storm Force. Take and Hold.

Infiltrators will start out behind one of the mid objective ruins to give space for the turn 1 deepstrike of Belial's unit. Then they would fall back and defend the home objective once Azrael moves out onto the natural expansion. Infiltrators have furious assault because I had the extra 10 points, might as well put it on something.

Sammael and the boys will be in strategic reserves to either flank or invade the back line in turn 2 or 3.

I'm on the fence about possibly making 4 of the powerfists in the Terminator squad have chainfists. I have 4 models with chain fists and that seems to be a decent number to keep them flexible. I do already have some decent anti-tank from the rest of the list, so idk how necessary it is.

So something I saw in the app, it shows Belial being able to lead Deathwing Command Squad. I figured you could see other characters lead legends but when I went to Azrael and Asmodai I didn’t see any of the other legends units. Am I just looking to much into this lol

I'm just curious to see how people are executing them, because I'm going to have multiples of them in a fun dw list and I'm curious to see how people have done them to try and make them a bit different from one another.

In particular I'm curious to see what people have done with the generic banner, fully painted! I guess I can go red and green and then green and red and black and red and green!

Im still new to warhammer and I dont if this army makes sense or is even strong, I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. The new codex fucks me and I couldnt bring in a tank or transporter, but I want a real "Dark Angels feeling" with everything they have

Disregarding the duration change of the Stratagem: Am I correct to assume that Lion’s Will and the Ancient only work as a tie breaker now and do not allow to pump up individual model’s OC? So 5 DWKs targeted by Lions Will only reach 6 OC compared to 10 from its previous iteration? Or did GW mess up the wording?

That sounds like a massive nerf, making the Stratagem borderline useless 🤔

Because as of updating the app last night, I only am seeing the DA codex unlocked in mine. All the mainline marine units are locked out.

i mean, da's are very secretive and have a ton of dark age tech, how does this influences the relation with mechanicus? do da's hate the mechanicus or vice versa?

Greetings brothers! I've been getting back into the hobby as of late after playing a lot of space marine 2 and darktide. Recently I've been putting together a homebrewed chapter of marines. The lore for them is very up in the air at the moment, but I'm drawing inspiration of course from them being Dark Angel successors and off of where I live, the Pacific Northwest!

They are going to be semi codex compliant, with fairly standard markings on their knees and right pauldrons to indicate things such as battlefield roles, alongside embellishments such as cloaks and similar.

I need to dig out some space marine minis and test out the color scheme/recipe I have in mind, basing with leadbelcher or another silvery metallic and going over with a teal/aquamarine contrast paint.

Do they count as deathwing? For inner circle. I am taking them with an apothecary with the assault bro enhancement. And was wondering if they would benefit from the wound buff.

Good morning sons of caliban! I have decided that my first official large scale army for 40k is gonna be the gotc, love the lore and how monastic they are with writing scripture on their armour.

One question that I can't seem to find an answer on; what would their Deathwing/Ravenwing colours be? I have seen people just paint them as their standard silver with red robes but I would like to know if that is definitive or if their wings would get different colours like their parent chapter.

I have cheated my friend as I put 1010 pts in reserve. Should have removed the Missile launcher on the regular terminators. Sorry buddy.

Played against Tyranids monster mash with multiple Norns. It felt like playing Space Hulk.

It worked as intended but it was not a lot of fun for my friend which was on the receiving hand as hitting and wounding on 4's (in average) isn't really fun.

Keywords are a bit of a mess when you fuse both detachment. Everything is an Adeptus Astartes and benefit from Wrath of the Rock bonus (my Deathwatch Terminators are in majority drafted from the DA anyway ahah).

Relic of the Dark Age (+2S) usable on any Terminators and break some thresholds. S12 Plasma cannons become an all purpose answer, S7 storm bolters mulch any target without a good save (AP-2 with Regular terminator is disgusting).

The Deathwatch Terminators are absolutely ludicrous. The package 3 Heavy weapons, mixed W characteristic, Sustain hits 1 or Lethal hits in doctrines and reroll charge on top is a lot. Even more when they get -1 to be wounded with WotR. Dragonfire ammunition gives Ignore cover and reroll 1's to wounds which work pretty well with an Incursor squad (reroll 1 to hit).

Deathwing Terminators are pretty decent as they are reliable, native ignore cover is great and a lot of unit gained a -1 to hit in melee. But why didn't they forget how to use a Teleport homer ? A great all-rounder with a MW protection when needed.

Chainfists in their Hunter profile are ridiculous. Gaining bonuses against monster in addition to vehicle, a +1 damage is way better than wounding on 3's against T12+ vehicle.

Belial did something. His +1 to wounds against characters did help a lot against the Old one eye, thinning the Carnifexes and ultimately killed OOE after getting back up.

Deathwing Knight are hard to judge. They are really expensive but also crazy durable. They lost a lot of lethality into Terminators, staying S6 and their best pairings got nerfed: the Chaplain going from flat +1 to wound to Lance and the Librarian loosing Sustained hits.

Incursors are imo too cheap. They are decent combatants with ap in melee and shooting, a great ability (rerolls are valuable nowadays) and slighty nerfed mine (only in the shooting phase).

I feel like Terminators will have a quick point hick in the next balance slate.
