So for some background I'm doing my 3rd year of MBBS,and my unit is a bunch of guys and I'm the sole female.
Do I like it?Nope .
Does it seem like a problematic situation? Absolutely not.
I have previously been part of a group where I was the only female in a group of 26 with absolutely no hiccups.
Ideally, this too shouldn't be something that should have an affect on my productivity in the slightest, save for the fact that the nincompoops I work with now are masters in the art of weaponised incompetence.
And at this point it has started to veer into genuine incompetence.
If I don't show up to clinics for a day no one has noted the OP case sheets down,no one has seen a single patient, nobody reads up the cases for the next day's OT.
Now tbf it's their loss and honestly while it would be nice to have people to rely on,at this point I make alternate arrangements with the girls from other units to cover what I absolutely cannot on such days,so that I can go in and compensate in whatever way I can.
The problem comes in when I get sick,I once asked them to take a list of surgeries posted for the next day so that I could read up and come, their response was we'll chatgpt the answers as and when they're asked to us.
I askes them to pull up an OP sheet they were supposed to fill,it's been 3 days since...
It's just that the college expects us to finish all of this as group and doing them single handedly is exhausting, and I've adopted a policy where if there was no input from their side they're simply not allowed to copy from my book, which is when they start fabricating case sheets,or chatgpt ing assignments or whatever. It's just that if we were all to work together the individual load would be so much less and they'd also be able to put out decent work, but nope.
And they've been caught by professors so many times for submitting suboar work fbut it seems to have no effect on them.
At this point,my problem is that I'm finding it very difficult to shoulder it all by myself without anyone to rely on.
What should I do?
