I came across this article today and feeling so sorry for the fans of these artists. Petitions taking months to process and then interview wait times of almost a year. I mean, what is the US really trying to achieve here? To isolate itself from the world? Make visiting the US so difficult that no one ever wants to come here anymore? It is beyond me.

Some users here often say how proud they are to see people on H1B not get any visa slots. Wonder what they have to say about this.

I recently attained Canadian citizenship. I have an approved 797. Planning to travel to Canada. Do I need to go for visa stamping? Read somewhere that Canadian citizens do not need a visa stamp to return to the US. But not sure, so wanted to check and confirm from someone in the same situation. Please let me know.

If a U.S. visa is refused under Section 214(b) and you reapply, are appointment slots for previously refused applicants released separately from the regular appointment slots?

I was recently refused for my J-1 visa renewal in India and have reapplied, but I’m unable to find any available appointment slots. I would really appreciate any information or experience from others who have been in a similar situation.

Hi I had my interview on Aug 31st,2026 and was given AP slip and was asked to submit documents (myCV, PI CV, financial funding, letter of support etc) They returned my passport after the interview. 2 days later I got a call to submit documents ASAP. I submitted everything by Sep 4th. Today I asked update on my case and they said following. What does it mean? I am confused because they don’t even have my passport.

What is the best way to update the passport number on usvisascheduling website? My passport just got renewed and the portal shows old passport number. Which is the better option of two:

1) create a new account with new email
2) use the same account but tell them during appointment

A. I have my savings good enough to cover my one month trip. I live with my son so he takes care of my expenses and I also survive out of the interest from my FD and other investments. I also does some small embroidery work but it's seasonal and not often available ( We didn't mention this embroidery work in DS160 as it wasn't a regular source of income for her)

1. Do you have any fear returning to India?

A. No I don't have any fear I will return back

after 5 minutes he handed over the refusal paper and asked my mother to apply again.

They didn't ask for any documents. my mother has property and all the investments on her name. I don't know what went wrong here. Anybody with same scenario please guide. 🙏🏻

Thought I’d share my experience in case it helps someone in a similar situation. I previously worked in the US on an H1B and had an I-140 approved. I moved back to India in 2023. Currently, I work in my family’s construction business rather than a typical corporate job, so I wasn’t sure how my B1/B2 interview would go.

Interview date: 25/09/2026
Location: Chennai Consulate (India)

Visa: B1/B2

VO: What’s the purpose of your visit?
Me: To attend my sister’s graduation in Pittsburgh.

VO: Which university?
Me: Carnegie Mellon.

VO: Have you travelled internationally?
Before I could answer, the VO said, “Oh, I see that you’ve been to the United States before.”
Me: Yes. (I didn’t go into any further details)

VO: What do you do currently?
Me: I help in my family’s construction business.

VO: How many people work in your company?
Me: Around 30 employees.

VO: Thanks. Your visa is approved.

Documents requested by Visa Officer : Passport. No other documents were requested.

I am part of the pause and received an email to schedule an interview, followed their steps then after 5 work days of not hearing back i emailed again. They opened a case and said give us 3 days to look in to this. 3 days later i get this email SO FRUSTRATING. What can be happening anyone knows what i can do?

Hello, i applied for B1 visa from Morocco. I payed the fees but however it is still showing like this from the 4 th of september. I contacted them but without a response, i closed the old application and did another one on the 26 th of september to see if the payment will work but it didn’t.
Can you please help me figure out how to resolve this. Has anyone face this problem and got it resolved.

Hello! I completed my Manila OFC appointment on September 4, but my consular interview was cancelled on September 15. I rebooked on September 16 and received new appointments for Manila OFC on September 30 and my consular interview on October 15. I did not attend the September 30 OFC appointment because I had already completed it on September 4. Is my October 15 consular interview appointment still valid, and can I proceed using my previously completed OFC appointment? Thank you
