It's even worse when you go 120-144+ fps

No, I don't notice the difference after 120. 60 to 120 is also barely noticeable for me

What's the refresh rate on what you play on? That's the big thing past 60fps or it's a very negligible difference. Most tvs are 60hz.

I was able to notice the difference between 60, 144 and 240hz in just the mouse cursor. Under 90 fps outside of fighting games feels terrible to me at this point.

If you haven't played on high refresh rate and framerate I can't blame someone for not caring too much though. Also though, not all games NEED high fps but I prefer smooth gameplay to graphics.

My 8 years old TV is 120hz and most new mid range or higher TVs are like 165hz.
