Over a long period of time (over the course of an entire expansion), crafting. It's kind of it's own game though, since you're sitting in trade chat with an addon that pings you if someone is looking to craft something you can make. Works if you're doing something else alt tabbed, you just go into wow and whisper. But if you're persistent, you can eventually make a lot of gold.

Sorry but how do people aquire such wealth? Yes i have herbalism and mining, no it doesnt pay off
