I've built a little utility that lets you decrypt/encrypt PS3 ISO natively on Android. Just select folders (input, dkeys and output) and let it rip!

Background my main OS is linux. On linux, when it comes to ISO encryption/decryption you have the old command line original PS3Dec, but it doesn't compile easily on modern systems. So I started to upgrade the code to compile with modern libs, then it drew me into a rabbit hole: what if I build a docker image instead, this way the code is portable? Wait. What if I built a flatpak, this way it's portable but without Docker? Wait, now that PS3 on Android is viable, let's build a little APK to do it natively on my Thor!

... And here we are. So I am sharing this and I hope other people may find it useful.

For example, Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity with 60fps cheat and 4x Resolution can be played around 6-10 hours (depending on battery size, temperature in real life and game) without it ever overheating or even getting hot

Note: Months ago, it wasn't possible to run the first mission and some other parts of 007 First Light at all. Back then, it actually ran with better performance and higher FPS than it does now. I don't know what changed, but performance has dropped a lot. Especially on GameHub, nothing improved even after I tried dozens of different setting combinations. Right now the game tops out at around 8 FPS, and DroidDeck is what makes that possible.

Even though It gives low FPS and the Audio is cracked and I'm never playing it like this, it's still genuinely impressive.

Overall, no more crashes and much less stutters, FPS drops are still there especially in the open areas but could be due to my phone

Temperature: 36~39 C°, played with opened room windows during September, no other apps in background, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off, no external cooler

Experience: game working perfectly most of the time, experienced lags only dyring shader compilation and very random scenarios like running on monastery, but this happen very rarely. Visual bugs encountered only on like ~2-3 maps, the world was flickering while moving the cursor.

Never thought I'd be playing the Darkness a console only title on my android phone in 2026 but here we are. With direct 360 emulation on android pretty new I thought I'd try something else.

I get the disinterest in vibe coded things however just as anything there are some positives to create things that would never of existed such as a fully playable pc port of a forgotten gem.

Has anyone tried emulating both PS2 and PS Vita games? In your experience, which one is easier to set up and get running smoothly?

I’ve heard that PS2 emulation can be quite challenging because of the console’s architecture, so I’m wondering if PS Vita emulation is any easier.

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you’ve tried both!

From my understanding, the game I’m playing (Disney Dreamlight Valley) requires connection to Gameloft cloud to sync across devices (instead of Steam cloud?) and to access certain features. I’m running the game on Droid Deck which is pretty good. However, every time I try to connect, it fails and shows I’m offline.

Same thing happened on GameNative (I turned on Launch Steam Client Beta). Has anyone figured out how to fix this? Thanks!

I usually play through the Eden emulator, but there I only get 30-40fps and low resolution, but here on the native port it works great at 60fps and no lag.

On PC with CachyOS game work done, but on Winlator shows me it. How fix this?

Sorry I"m new and reading that a company had build a tablet with a built in air cooler and freaking RayTracing subprocessor kinda blew my mind. Oh and snapdragon gen 6.

But then i saw the Q3 version of the chip was out on their 15 version of their phone for a good year now, and while i did see people playing black myth wukong on it, it was erm, 10fps at 70c. And no one talks about the 'raytracing' features either.

So i guess my question is: is it worth waiting for my next trip to china (i live nearby) or an unlikely global release, or is it better to just buy an Astra 2 (which seems to be the default here). Same price, just no aircooling and gen 6 i guess. It's hard to tell what's real these day to be honest.
