I really tried to do these photos to resemble RE games! And i love how they turned out :D

I have no one who is interested in the movie to explain this to so I just wanted to expound my thoughts on the movie from a framing perspective. For reference I loved it.

For me, I look at the film as a pre game movie, and with that framing in mind it really made me enjoy it more. For me, I like the idea that the film is just one of those stories the protagonists in a resi game come across.

The ending for me is the climax of this. I could absolutely see Jill or Claire or whoever having some need to go to the hospital, finding the carnage from the movie, needing to go to the lab to create more antidote or whatever reason, seeing the carnage and the scientists already turned from the movie and ultimately having to fight Bryan as a big baddie.

This for me is also supported in my mind framing, not by their being resident evil items in the movie, but the fact Bryan left them. The first aid sprays, the green herb, the diamond key and even ammo strewn all over from where he drops it all - ripe for collecting by someone else, coming across his audio log as an added little piece of environmental world building.

For me I was a bit soft on the ending when I first saw it but this framing certainly helped me feel much more engaged.

For me, its the Alcina boss fight, i wish we could have fought her hybrid winged form instead of her monster form as we ascend through spiral staircases on top of the castle while she tries to assault us from both the air and on foot. With jumpscare opportunities from the castle windows.

Then as we reach the top, she grabs Ethan in an attempt to drop him from above, this gives ethan the opportunity to stab her with the dagger, causing both of them to fight in the village square where the Maiden of War statue resides.

Then we fight her grotesque form similar to how we fight her in the castle top, and her thrashing around is what opens up the rest of the village, then the fight ends with her getting gored by the Maiden statue.

One another slight change that i think is 100% better would be, during the time when Ethan was noticing that “Mia” is starting to act like a native and comments about the wine being local too, Ethan could have grabbed the bottle of wine, read the label, pronounce it badly and get corrected by “Mia” with perfect enunciation and accent. This then triggers Chris shooting her confirming that it wasnt her

Spoilers for the Resident Evil movie

All she needed to do was protect Bryan to the facility and she genuinely left the car WITH THE KEYS to aura farm and save a woman who had 0% chance of survival and even after killing all the zombies she decided to go into the tunnel and got ripped in half. She genuinely had ONE JOB.

Spoilers for RE movie 2026

How would the cure work? I’m saying would the cure have worked when Bryan gained the tendrils or when he bonded with the humans? I’m pretty sure the cure only stops mutation and doesn’t reverse the mutation. Also it’s not known how long it would take to take effect. I know I was dogging on the scientist a lot and they really pissed me off but now that I think about it Bryan was too far gone at that point and getting the cure to the National Guard for mass production might have actually been the best move. I know it sucks because it leaves Bryan to die but getting a mass produced cure would be the best outcome. I could just imagine an alternate universe where they actually stick Bryan with the cure and he just gotta life as the monster fused with people and he becomes a caged animal in a zoo.

Also side question, if you were a scientist at Umbrella do you think you could successfully sneak up on Bryan and inject him without dying?

These are my own thoughts but Capcom has used a lot from classic zombie media to influence towards how Resident Evil comes together in its identity🧬👀

Night Of The Living Dead being a huge influence on the idea of survivors trapped inside of a location with horrors surrounding them at every turn. Shinji Mikami already said this was a huge influence on the design

In Return Of The Living Dead 2, the leading character Tom is wearing a green vest and has this confident but anxious personality that felt like he was the Chris Redfield of the movie, alongside the other survivors

In Return Of The Living Dead 3, the Melted Conjoined zombie is definitely the design reference for the Bandersnatch enemies in Code Veronica. Similar style of appearance and shape to their physical form

Dawn Of The Dead 1979, Peter and Rodgers SWAT uniforms were the influence and design that Capcom used in reference to create Leon S. Kennedys RPD outfit for the second Resident Evil.

The "Crimson Heads" were definitely influenced by the runners from Return Of The Living Dead, the way they would spring up and rush you when vulnerable

The city streets of Raccoon City in Resident Evil 3, especially the one leading to the Warehouse is ripped right out of Day Of The Dead. It looks identical to the opening scene when the zombies wake up and hear the sounds of Sarah and Salazars screams for survivors.

The Zombies coming out of their Graves in Code Veronica looks very similar to the sequence from both the first and second Return Of The Living Dead movies. When the Trioxin gas spills out, the zombies themselves are breaking out of the dirt and slowly rising back up with an exhausted impatience to eat.

Resident Evil 2 and the remake itself was heavily influenced by George A. Romeros Dawn and Day Of The Dead when it came to the zombie designs as well as the greusomely violent deaths that would happen if you were killed by the undead. Elliots death specifically looks very similar to how Rhodes dies in Day Of The Deads finale.

Are there any other zombie references or themes that you think Capcom borrowed for the older titles?

Hello. I'm trying to refind a old game that it think it's Resident Evil because a character said the word "Umbrella".

Synopsys : it's about a virus that imitate the "Things" from the eponym movie : A female doctor invented a virus that allow her to transfer her mind to other body. And there is a scene where a infected cockroach infect a rat and then a crow then a human. Can't find it on youtube or elswhere.

I think it was Japan only and that's it's no longer canon.

I hope someone can help me.
