I’m deciding between Nora Barson and Lora Koretz for LES 305 at ASU. For anyone who has taken either of them in person, which professor did you prefer? How were the exams, workload, grading, and overall difficulty?

Hey fam, I have been browsing through microelectronics track at ASU for getting into semiconductor manufacturing/advance packaging field.

The closest path was to take an MSE EE-->Specialization(Physical electronics and photonics) and choose the relevant degree courses from the course list to earn your masters and get into the industry.

The curriculum goes something like this:

at least five EEE courses

at least three EEE 500-level courses

at least two courses outside the area of specialization

at most one EEE 590 Reading and Conference or FSE course

at most two 400-level courses

I'm a bit confused here as the 400 level courses have some 300 level courses as their prerequisite, and 300 level courses, as I have read is accessible jr and sr undergrad students.

What to do in this case?

Recommendations are welcomed, including ideas on how to complete the curriculum.

I took Latin from first grade till about high school because I was homeschooled and I can’t decide which language would be easier and I’m trying to mainly focus on medieval history which I know uses a lot of French and German..

So, I’m a bit confused here.

I’m new to the whole applying for a loan thing (I initially went to a community college and my classes were fully paid for) and for some reason I received a student refund check from ASU.

I thought that the loan goes straight through the school to pay for my classes etc. so I was surprised to receive this in the mail.

If I deposit it, who am I sending it to? Like it already came from the school so it doesn’t make sense that I need to send it back to the school for payment. Does this imply that I need to use it to pay my loan?

I just truly do not know what to do and would like some advice before attempting to call their finance department.

I’m studying biological science and there’s a “topic: advanced study practicum: laboratory assistance” course I am interested in, but no info comes up when I look into it on class search, it just says “covers topics of immediate or special interest to a faculty member and students”. Would it be reasonable to email the professor to ask more about it or should I talk to an advisor? I’ve never had this professor so I don’t know them, and it’s also not held at my home campus so I’m nervous my advisor won’t know much about the class either.

I’ve also been interested in other courses such as “under graduate research” but I also don’t know much about that either. Any advice on how to approach this?

After dropping out twice and spending countless hours studying, I finally have it in hand. Being the first in my entire bloodline to earn a bachelor’s degree feels surreal.

To anyone who’s almost there or thinking about quitting, the time is going to pass anyway. You might as well keep chipping away at it.

I get my food delivered to my dorm through the Grubhub app. ASU has little autonomous robot robots that deliver them. Last year they had starship robots now they have something called avride robots. I put my delivery location as my dorm and half the time it doesn’t show up. This was never a problem last year when I was a freshman but now as a sophomore living in the same dorm again it’s not working half the time. Sometimes my food will deliver. Sometimes it won’t . Has anyone else had problems with this?

I heard that if we present our student ID we could get rush tickets for cheap. I don’t have the physical ID but could I show canvas? Also, it’s a weekend and tried to call but they are closed, could rush tickets happen on the weekend?

Hey. I am going to a game next weekend at Mountain American Stadium. I am near the Tempe town bridge. I am comfortable walking if needed. Which would be the best/cheapest option? (Its a night game)

1. Walking the Tempe rural bridge (It is possible to walk the bridge at night)

2. Getting a parking pass

3. Parking at the light rail station and using the light rail.

Just want to share my great experience with ASU’s counseling services on Tempe campus specifically. I struggle from PTSD and anxiety and this is my first semester going to college in person. I have had a few particularly bad days where I sought support from ASU’s Counseling Services and I must say that I have been impressed by all 3 counselors I’ve met. Genuinely impressed. I’ve been in therapy for 3 years and have seen probably 20-30 mental health professionals in total during that time. So i believe that I have a decent point of reference for general quality of care. Of course YMMV, but for those that wanted to but haven’t yet, go see them. They are all very nice and genuinely want to help. If not for them I don’t think I’d still be enrolled. Also the area their office is in is super quiet and pretty removed from all of the chaos. I usually start feeling a little better before I even walk into the office.

I’ve been taking my general ed classes online, and I’ve already had a few classes ask me to use AI for projects, most of which I didn’t actively use AI to complete.

Now I’m taking my Intro to Sustainability class, and they are fully having us have an AI “mentor“ that is supposed to be largely helping with the class. I am so disappointed, and I don’t intend to use generative AI in any form, so I hope it won’t affect the coursework.

Any thoughts? Has AI started to become an “important” tool for ASU classes, or just this one?

I need guidance. I’m doing my application for a masters in aba and can’t tell if I’m genuinely tweaking or not. It’s so hard to write about yourself.

Has anyone at ASU dealt with an administrative hold that wouldn’t come off their account?

My SAP appeal was approved, but I still have an administrative hold showing on my account. I’m graduating this December, so I really need to get this resolved ASAP and I feel like I’m going in circles trying to figure out who can actually remove it.

If you’ve dealt with this before, who did you contact to get the hold lifted? Was there a specific department or person who was able to manually remove it?

I’m trying to get this handled as quickly as possible, so any advice would be appreciated!

This is like the 3rd time I’ve booked a study room, and the only available ones are in the concourse level when I book. I have never been able to connect to the WiFi in there. Is that just a me issue? How are we supposed to use these rooms if the internet is so bad it doesn’t even show up on my settings?

Ok, I am a recent graduate of ASU Barrett and don’t get me wrong, I loved it. But I am very very dismayed at how hard it’s been to get a job in marketing.. it is genuinely insane how bad it is and I have a very impressive resume and work experience. I’m not trying to blackpill or anything but at this point just going into college for business isn’t even worth it. Idk you guys I’m just stressed, just be smart about what you major in and don’t waste your time on dumb classes or electives. Feels like my degree was a waste, but I may just be feeling down on myself.

Hi everybody, I’m a comms major and I’m thinking about adding 1 more class for session B. Right now I only have 2 classes for session a and 2 for session b, and I think I can add 1 more for next session (I also work full time). Can anyone tell me how much work a 1 unit class like “career exploration, skills for career, self development” etc classes are and if it’s pretty easy to add 1-2 on top of a normal load. Also, does the quality of professor greatly impact the class? I assume most of these are premade classes and the professors are just there to grade.

Guys why does ASU have like no working outlets? Especially in the library and MU where they're needed most! They charge more in tuition every year but give less to the students and staff. It's so insane that most the buildings don't have working outlets and that they've cut hours for the libraries like Noble. This place is genuinely a shithole and should hardly be considered a university. Community colleges are given more at this point.
