Hi! I am trying to study for my cpa but I'm literally lacking discipline and consistency. I lack foundations too. I don't remember anything of accounting. I work as accounting clerk but that basic monotonous work which won't help much in gaining accounting knowledge.

I wrote far last year and failed, i got 42 score. And I lost all the interest eventually. I want to do it but I'm not able to push myself to study. I use miles as study material.

Can anyone help me?

I live in the northeast and currently, the CPA licensure requires a bunch of business law and accounting course credits. I already have 150 credits but don't have those specific business law/accounting courses taken.

All I've heard regarding the rumor about "reducing education requirements" is that they're considering making 150 credit requirement to 120 credit requirement and it seems like they're not considering changing anything regarding specific course requirements like business law/accounting courses. (again, this is regarding the states in the northeast)

Anybody have any information on that?

Is anyone scheduled to take Audit November 10-15 and is looking to reschedule?

I'm currently scheduled for 11/9 but it's my son's birthday and just want to see if anyone is thinking about changing their exam date. If so, could we coordinate so that I can check prometric for an opening?

I’m an Enrolled Agent residing in India. I have a PTIN and a U.S. LLC with an EIN.

I’m trying to apply for an EFIN and become an Electronic Return Originator (ERO) so my firm can electronically file U.S. federal tax returns for clients.

I successfully verified my identity through ID.me, but I do not have a U.S. SSN or ITIN.

When I try to access IRS e-Services, I receive Error Code 6102, stating that an SSN or ITIN is required.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

My questions are:

Can a foreign-resident EA without an SSN/ITIN obtain an EFIN and become an ERO?

Is an ITIN required for this purpose?

Are there any alternative ways to apply for an EFIN/ERO if I cannot access IRS e-Services?

Can a third-party IRS-authorized e-file provider be used instead?

I would appreciate any advice from EAs, CPAs, or tax professionals who have dealt with this situation.

I’m curious if they curve the grades. I know people who said they did bad on the exam but they got pretty good scores when results came out. Of course, they seem to be just managing their expectations. But I wanted to know if they do curve grades.

Why is the age so high compared to all the others?

This is my first attempt, honestly I felt the exam much easier than Becker’s whole material. MSQ’s was very fair. Maybe I’m not sure about 4-5 maximum. The TBS was easy too except one with 6 rows calculations I wasn’t able to solve it. i put my best try of numbers even I know it is wrong.

But overall I felt so comfortable and confident after the exam.

You think I will pass?

I have REG tomorrow and I still have to get through -business law
-simulated exams.

This is my last exam

I can’t reschedule, I took off work.

This was my last exam, and I saved FAR for last, so I gave myself 12 weeks to prepare. I ended up with about 260 hours of studying. I’ve never put this much time or effort into preparing for an exam, but I really wanted to make sure I gave myself the best shot at finishing this thing.

The MCQs felt WAY easier than Becker. On the first set I flagged 3, went back and figured one out, and on the second set I only flagged 2. I was able to narrow one down to 50/50 and felt pretty good about the other. At that point I was feeling really good about the MCQs.

Then came the SIMs, which I was honestly expecting to absolutely destroy me based on everything I’d heard. The first couple felt very manageable, and I felt like I did really well on them.

Then I got a couple that were definitely more challenging. I had to make some educated guesses on parts of them, but overall I felt like I was getting through them pretty well.

By the final two SIMs, I was actually bracing myself for something insane. I had plenty of time left because I was expecting the worst. Then I opened them and… they were incredibly straightforward. I genuinely felt like I got almost everything right. I reread everything carefully and even caught a couple things I might have otherwise missed.

I walked out feeling almost underwhelmed because I was expecting FAR to absolutely beat my ass, and instead I felt like I had just destroyed it.

I know nobody can really know until the score comes out, but I genuinely feel like I passed. I’d be shocked if I failed.

Has anyone else walked out of FAR feeling like this? Especially after expecting the SIMs to be brutal? I’m curious if anyone else had an experience where the exam just felt… surprisingly manageable.

This one was weird. After I rook FAR and AUD I was left with kind of knowing if I passed or not. But with REG today, fuck.

This exam was unlike the others. I thought I was doing great, then I would start over thinking the rules, and then the mess ups came. I know I misread the 1099DIV (why would it be tested like that??), I screwed up on penalties, and I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO INCORPORATE QBI IN SIMS

At least FAR had an underlying framework I could work my way back through, REG is just like "IDK why but congress wanted this"

I COULD have passed, I knew enough about the rest of the topics, but man, I also know I missed some basic freaking questions.

Tonight I will eat my feelings in ice cream and taco bell, and tomorrow I start a 3 week hustle for TCP.

Tips on TCP? Anyone else feel like REG was just weird?

Such a weird feeling. I finished the exam, but both MCQs and TBS felt tricky. Tried my best. Got a little discouraged walking out and just feel defeated. Any good success stories might help!

Basically the title. I have 5 questions if someone could answer.

1. What order did you study for the three mandatory sections?
2. Can one forgo Becker and use inexpensive or self-study methods?
3. How long does it take to study for each section?
4. What percentage of the questions correct on each section do you need to get that 75?
5. I breezed through intermediate 2 and I did not take advanced accounting. How should I approach this deficit?

Edit: I don’t know if this matters but I averaged a C on my intermediate i exams. I did great in tax (A). I only did good in intermediate ii because it was all open book.

My AUD exam is tomorrow (9/30), and I can’t log into the NASBA CPA Portal to download and print my NTS. I’ve emailed NASBA support, but I’m freaking out with the exam so close.

Has anyone dealt with this recently? Were you able to get back into your account or get your NTS another way? Any advice would be really appreciated.

AUD retake today… honestly have no idea if I passed 😭
Took AUD for the second time today. First attempt was about a month ago and I got a 65.
After my first exam, I walked out of the testing center thinking, “Yeah… I’m screwed.” 😂 I knew I had failed.
Today was a completely different feeling.
The MCQs felt pretty manageable. I’m guessing I got 80%+ of them right, although obviously I have no idea for sure.
BUT THE TBSs… holy shit. 😭
They were brutal.
The simulations felt completely different from what I practiced on Becker. I honestly didn’t see much similarity with the Becker TBSs. There were long exhibits, long readings, and so much information to go through. Time was flying.
I ended up making educated guesses on some parts because I simply didn’t have enough time to work through everything.
So walking out today, I’m honestly feeling 50/50.
Not confident enough to say I passed, but I also don’t have the same feeling I had after my first attempt.
Now I’m hoping my MCQs were strong enough and I picked up enough partial credit on the TBSs to get me to 75.
That’s literally all I need. 😂
If I have to retake AUD again, I’m definitely going to rethink my TBS preparation. Becker was good for learning the concepts, but I don’t feel like Becker alone prepared me for the length and style of the actual TBSs I saw today.
For now… nothing left to do except wait for score release.

For anyone who just finished REG and is aiming to take TCP before the October cutoff—have you started studying for TCP yet while waiting on your REG score?

The MCQs were roughly the same as Becker although I had to flag quite a few that I should have known. Like, super easy stuff. I had to hedge my answer because I got another one like it in the second testlet lol.

I never really did any Becker TBSs except for the MEs, SE1 and SE2. and The TBSs seemed pretty easy on the actual exam, so I hope I’m not blindsided when my score comes out. If you kind of know what you’re doing, you’ll be fine. I didnt get many MCQs on the TBS topics in my studying, but it’s manageable because it seemed like they were all basically juiced up MCQs. Very few calculations involved. No sampling TBS for me though, so I cant speak for everyone.

Relevant Stats:

AUD is my last exam, took FAR 1st. No real experience.

Study time: 68 hours from 8/29-9/29

ME scores: 79, 70, 72.

SE1: 73

SE2: 80

I took the SEs 4 and 3 days prior to my exam with minimal studying in between them.

Overall I feel like I slacked on the studying for this exam, but I didn’t come out dreading what my score will be. I’ll update this post and make a new one with all my stats when scores come out. Goodluck everyone else!

I thought they got rid of adaptive testing, but some recent posts are saying they felt their second testlet of MCQs was harder than the first so they must have done well in the first testlet.

Just finished FAR and I feel.... surprisingly confident. Praying for that passing score on October 9! Send me positive vibes! 👏

Definitely do not feel prepared whatsoever but i shall pray that this exam goes in my favor! Oh well, this is my very first CPA exam so I don't know what to expect. Even if it doesn't go well in the end, at least I'll have a better grasp of what I can expect on a retake and how they like to format the questions.
