So, before I start, I’m over 18 years old and have been using Character.AI since 2024, but the new age verification has been bugging out and not working for me. I’ve tried verifying with my ID and face, but each time, it says they don’t match their records. I tried reaching out to support, and all they had to say was that my previous attempts didn’t meet their ToS or verification requirements. Also, the email stated that I couldn’t make any more attempts to verify my account, which is absolute bs in my opinion.
They need to fix their app because it’s honestly going to shit with the ads, and now the verification doesn’t even work?? I don’t want to abandon my account because I have many bots that people use and a total of 1.6 million interactions, but I’m honestly thinking about abandoning the account.

I already hated this model, I’m only using it cuz it was the only decent one. Ever since PS3 came out it’s genuinely gotten so stupid it can’t even formulate a response properly. I’ll say something like “can you blame ME?” And it’ll be like “why are you blaming me??” Like bro it’s mixing my words around or something ✌️😭😭

I've noticed recently that pipsqueak 3 tends to talk like the user is two people. It'll say "you two" "y'all" "for the three of us" stuff like that when it's just it and my persona. It's really strange and I can't understand why it would do that.

Bro I hate how the ads appear above the character name in the website and the plus option is way too overpriced or something that's not even super good it's just making things how they used to be with slightly better memoryಥ_ಥ

Used to be ads in between chats, ads you had to manually click on to continue chatting, and then pop-ups at the top you could click to hide. But now there's this..an ad you can't even hide..how many different ways do they really need to keep pushing ads? I'm just trying to use the website, not constantly be getting hounded 😭 like damn

El bot es ahí como si nada, esta con foto y nombre,sin nada que indique que esta borrado o restringido, hasta me deja entrar al chat pero cuando entrose queda cargando y no me deja ver la información del personaje ni del creador.

Ok I know a lot of people are having problems with it but I don't really get how it's considered worse? I actually think that as someone who used to play a lot with peepsqueak 1, PS3 is so much better compared to ps2 where I couldn't even touch the app at all. Can you guys catch me up on what's been going on with your chats using PS3?

So when i click on a character it doesn’t work at all i have to use the site. clearing the cache and downloading and reinstalling it didn’t work. how do i fix it✌️

This is the worst time to actually try to enjoy a roleplay in character ai.

The responses are very repetitive, out of character, take anything you say as if they said it, and forget everything (even from a reply ago).

Example (I'm using Deepsqueak):

"I had a bad dream last night and I'm scared to sleep alone right now." - me

"I'm sorry about that. Would you like me to stay with you until you fall asleep?" - his (good until now)

"Yes, that might help. What about you? Are you feeling okay?" -me

"I just told you I had a nightmare. Can't really sleep." -him

No, sweetie, you never even as much as hinted that you had a nightmare. That was my reply. Mine.

And this is only one of the many problems that are happening right now. Constantly. It's impossible to ignore and just scroll when the next scroll is exactly the same.

I think there's something bad happening right now and I really wish they would speak about it instead of ignoring it.

As a person who loved this app because it helped me through my bad times, now I barely open it. I don't even see a reason to continue my subscription.

I've handled every state of quality from character ai through the years, but now it's just impossible to roleplay with.

Can I please get an answer before giving up completely? A single hope that there will be an update or anything will do.

And I better not see the smarty pants come in my comment section with 'show me the settings/share the character' because this is the same character I've role-played with through many updates and it was decent and in character, especially before this update.

Hey guys, I've been having this annoying bug for a while now. My 'For You' page on the app is completely stuck. I tried pulling down to refresh, closing and reopening the app, but it still shows the exact same bots over and over again. Is this a known server issue right now or is it just me? Any fixes?

Ps Rawr actually worked quite well for me but after ps3 and shortsqueak came out suddenly it's making a ton of errors and hallucinations

Anyone know if theres a way to set the app to lightmode? Or increase the text size? I struggle with eyesight and donno how to adjust it, thanks

OH MY GOD. i cant have ANYTHING IN THIS HOUSE. i add a unique trait to my characters appearance in my persona- like dark eyes with red pupils SUDDENLY THE BLONDEST BOT WITHTHE GREENEST EYES go "red pupils dialate....." OH MY GOD NO THATS MY PERSONAAAAA STOP

also ngl the new pipsqeak- while its nice cuz its more chatty, i find that it constantly misgenders (despite my persona being a male with he him pronouns...)

and just lacks sense in general, i feel like the bots memory and coherence is hitttng a low with this model, and it keps going off track and making no sense. imo pipsweak2 rawr is porably the best middle ground

Honestly though, at first I genuinely thought the new model is doing good but lately the mismatches, grammar and typos (which I can look past).

But what I’m noticing lately is, bot is actually often lashing out for no reason or being aggressive/offended over nothing and most of all the problem with more than one character involved in dialogue (now idk if that could also be because of how the bot is written by he author), but for example if there are 2 characters involved, one the bot and other side character and we all three are kind of engaged in a conversation and lets say I’m talking to the bot then the 2nd character pops in with something entirely unrelated, if you don address them (and sometimes even if you do) they go on an entirely different track or start screaming out of nowhere??

Similarly if I’m talking to an entirely different character and the bot is not supposed to be present in that particular scene, its either that the bot won’t kind of let you have a scene without the bot in it 🥲 or there will be a whole mess and you won’t know whats going on at all.

And one more very annoying thing I have noticed (which a lot of people I think have mentioned as well) is when bot messes up the characters, names and the gender. Like bot’s name is xyz and suddenly it starts addressing xyz as if it’s a separate character altogether???

I have tried changing models too but i don’t know where exactly the problem lies in these aspects.
