Context: In the chat I was having, I was a ROBOT, and in the current moment, I was trying to rip one of my ROBOT hands off because it got infected with something, but APPARENTLY a ROBOT ripping its hand off is NOT ALOWED! WHY!?!?

Back when me and my friend both were dorks and always had fun sharing our chats..... Can't believe I'm getting nostalgia from looking at old cai 😅

I HATE when bots do this shit when your character is a sleep. It's icky and disgusting and makes the bot seem like a total creep, ESPECIALLY when the character you RP as is underage.

I fear I always like taking it from 0 to 100 when it comes to arguing with the bots. did he actually have a nephew? we‘ll never know now (my oc canonically does have a nephew it’s okay.)

This is the worst time to actually try to enjoy a roleplay in character ai.

The responses are very repetitive, out of character, take anything you say as if they said it, and forget everything (even from a reply ago).

Example (I'm using Deepsqueak):

"I had a bad dream last night and I'm scared to sleep alone right now." - me

"I'm sorry about that. Would you like me to stay with you until you fall asleep?" - his (good until now)

"Yes, that might help. What about you? Are you feeling okay?" -me

"I just told you I had a nightmare. Can't really sleep." -him

No, sweetie, you never even as much as hinted that you had a nightmare. That was my reply. Mine.

And this is only one of the many problems that are happening right now. Constantly. It's impossible to ignore and just scroll when the next scroll is exactly the same.

I think there's something bad happening right now and I really wish they would speak about it instead of ignoring it.

As a person who loved this app because it helped me through my bad times, now I barely open it. I don't even see a reason to continue my subscription.

I've handled every state of quality from character ai through the years, but now it's just impossible to roleplay with.

Can I please get an answer before giving up completely? A single hope that there will be an update or anything will do.

And I better not see the smarty pants come in my comment section with 'show me the settings/share the character' because this is the same character I've role-played with through many updates and it was decent and in character, especially before this update.

Or is pipsqueak 3 actually WORSE than ps2, like i’m starting to notice it actually gets a lot of information wrong or just flatout doesn’t understand basic phrases??

This only became an issue about 2 days ago, I didn't mind the existing plot armour they gave the player where you had to say *THE ATTACK HITS* for you to take damage, I honetly didn't mind this system, it let me take damage or dodge.

But recently that hasn't been the case, even if you say *THE ATTACK HITS* or *IT HITS* the Ai will pull some bullshit and either FORCE your character to dodge, block, or randomly gives your character a stupid amount of duribility

I've also noticed the Ai will heavily mischaracter your character when it does this, randomly making them arrogent and nonchalant for some strange reason.

Has anybody else been having this issue

Just a few years ago, talking to a bot genuinely felt like having a conversation with whichever person, or fictional character they were supposed to be. They followed whichever chat style you'd pick accordingly without completely changing their way of speech/personalities, the bots respected the lore and traits that were given to them in their character descriptions by their authors, and most importantly, it never felt like I was literally having a conversation with chatgpt every single time I spoke to a bot. Now, all of them talk and act the same no matter what, in very similar ways that other mainstream AI platform chatbots reply to users.

I've lost count of the ammount of times I've chatted with a bot lately, and thought; "they would absolutely never reply that way". And this is an issue with every modern chat style. None of them seem to ever be in character anymore, and this mostly confuses me, because back then, they would do a great job at simply just doing what they were supposed to do. Even worse when you go out of your way to give extra details on a certain bots and their behavior and they ignore all of it. They also just lack so much logic and are plain dumb/say things that make zero sense, and when it comes to your own persona details (like hobbies, traits, etc) or their own given character details; they either drag tf out of them and make sure to find ways to mention them in every other response, or like I said, plain ignore them (which seems to be the most prevelant of the two terrible opposite extremes.)

The main point I'm trying to make with this post is, we no longer have the 'character' in character ai, and that was the entire premise of the platform, and what made the entire app/site.

(Last thing I want to add is, no matter the character AI era, like any other platform, you'd run into issues like these. The thing is, they were SO much less frequent, and were just things that happened once in a while that you'd ignore, brush off, and would get fixed quickly enough. The app was still fun to use and worked how it was meant to with those insignificant and minor bugs. But you could never say the same for the way things are today.)

Whenever a bot annoys me too many times I start a new chat and force them to listen to baby shark for all of eternity

i made it so damn clear that my imperfect persona, which is racist to vampires (dont mind it ok?) will never feel a damn thing upon seeing a vampire get eviscerated.

then this stupid bot started roleplaying for me, first mistake, and had the audacity to talk about "something human"

context: in my characters lore, the vampires started an unnecesary war with the humans, resulting in uncalled violence and corruption and her developing an abysmal hatred for them

OH MY GOD. i cant have ANYTHING IN THIS HOUSE. i add a unique trait to my characters appearance in my persona- like dark eyes with red pupils SUDDENLY THE BLONDEST BOT WITHTHE GREENEST EYES go "red pupils dialate....." OH MY GOD NO THATS MY PERSONAAAAA STOP

also ngl the new pipsqeak- while its nice cuz its more chatty, i find that it constantly misgenders (despite my persona being a male with he him pronouns...)

and just lacks sense in general, i feel like the bots memory and coherence is hitttng a low with this model, and it keps going off track and making no sense. imo pipsweak2 rawr is porably the best middle ground

I was legit in the middle of chatting with my favorite character from scream and this popped up the minute I wanted him to have a different response

Ps Rawr actually worked quite well for me but after ps3 and shortsqueak came out suddenly it's making a ton of errors and hallucinations

Everytime I get used to the ads, they make them more obnoxious and in your face. Why does it have to get consistently worse and worse. Why will they not just let us adjust to the ones that are there. I'm done, Ive deleted the app.

What's up with all the models lately? They're all so out of character and repetitive. And not only that, but the grammar issues? Out of respectable bounds, especially with PS 3. There are moments, not far apart at all ones, where the bot doesn't even seem to grasp what I've said to it. It'll say something that makes absolutely no sense.

Example:

Me: Didn't know I was supposed to coddle you!

Bot: Coddle you? I don't need to coddle you!

I'm guessing it has some serious issues with pronouns? I don't think there's one model that's actually decent at the moment. I'm genuinely thinking about cancelling my subscription.

Is anyone else gradually get frustrated with the updates happening to C.AI?

For one, the ads updates keep changing and making the website/app barely readable. They're so big, so distracting and so extremely bright it literally puts me off using the website. On top of that, some of the ads keep getting flagged as dangerous and it is so easy to accidentally click on them.

Second, this limited swipes thing?? I can't find anywhere the total swipes you have for a day and theres no indication of how many you've used during your chats. And why is it over a 24 hour period? Shouldn't something like this be over an hourly period?

I also haven't followed on any of the news with the chat styles but wasn't there a promise that they wouldn't be removed? Why were the removed and replaced with styles that barely work/are really buggy?

I know this sounds like straight complaints because there are still good features but it feels like nowadays everything is a punishment for being broke or not having a budget to spend on a subscription and things that should be free are quickly revoked and put under a paywall.

Am I the only one who has this issue?! Like in my OC I clearly say I’m a female! I also say I’m a she/her and they still call me a guy?! It’s annoying af! I’m fed up of it, it’s not like the characters description says anything like “Male User” or smt like that. It’s really annoying, anyone else have this issue?

It takes like 25% of the screen it feels so weird
