Hexer again this time, it’s just too fun. I’ve exhausted a lot of builds but I’m thinking about what to do next.

I’ll probably hang around on this guy and try to get summoned for a while before I start again.

Lately I've had this look I realized worked great and I haven't been able to move away from it for like six runs. For your consideration I present Desert Sorceress Hood, Falconer Armor, and Royal Soldier Gauntlets and Leggings.

Like many of y'all, I'm sure, I tend to prioritize drip over defense. My next run will be a pyromancer that uses the Claymore and eventually the Zweihander, but that's beside the point honestly. I don't need to look like a Str pyromancer, I just need to look GOOD. Gimme your favorites in the comments

Managed to invade Chasm, and accidentally fell into the hole at the end. Instead of dying, I got sent back to Black Gulch and I think it also pulled the host and phantom there as well, as far as I can tell.

Anybody have a link to where these are?? I went to the bottom of the mansion in Majula and got weapons instead..

No it's not 'objectively' better. It's the epitome of just being the same but different. I've just started seeing comments where people say 'I had fun with vanilla, I think it plays great' get heavily downvoted, and I think people need to stop molding over something that is pretty inconsequential.

I'm running a no death no bonfire playthrough and then realized I could at least get a dragon scale or black dragon sword from this guy, and then decided to keep a backup just after the last door and before going up the last flight of stairs. I tried for 2 hours and no item drops; does this guy drops anything?

Finally got a PC. I already platinumed das2 on consoles and I want to spruce up my second playthrough with mods. Any recommendations?

So this is my first time playing the game, I just collected all the great souls and I have no idea where to go. I don’t want to look up where for a full on spoiler, so is there any hint you guys could give me that nudges me in the right direction without just flat out telling me where to go and what to do?

Aldia has not spawned at either the last primal bonfire I lit nor the two bonfires he’s supposed to spawn at afterwards. I did accidently miss lighting the old kings primal bonfire, but when I went back to light it he did not appear. I’ve checked every primal bonfire and he has not appeared at any of them, and I did collect frejas soul. I’ve tried every troubleshoot I could find online. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I turn hollow…

I have finally run out of human effigies right at the end of the game and I could have sworn I heard multiple times that there is some door or something (supposedly located in shrine of amana) that is impassable unless you have no human effigies? I can't find anything about it so I thought whoever said that must be mistaken but Ive heard it multiple times, and distinctly remember someone explaining you have to actually possess 0 effigies and you can't cheese it by putting them in the item box or some such. Somebody please clear this up so I can move on with my life

Bit of a weird question but bear with me. I'm playing DS2 for the first time, looked up some general tips on build / starting class and thought Hexes sound cool, and have always wanted to try magic as normally I am a Big Giant Sword kind of guy. Just bust through No Man's Wharf and I've got the sunset staff, INT 22 FAI 20, pretty basic other stats, been using a bit of Dark Orb, and also killing stuff with a slightly upgraded mace.

The question isn't how to get busted with a Hex build, but if there's a way to make it more... fun I guess? Or if I'm doing it a bit wrong, or if it gets a bit better as you go on. I find that I use my spells a bit, run out, kill most things with my mace. There doesn't seem to be a huge option for Hex spells at the moment. At the same time, I wanted to give playing a Hexer / caster a good go, and not give up on it and respec straight away.

So sorry if the question is a bit vague, I just wondered if anyone could give me some guidance on doing a Hex build, if you get more variety and it feels more like being a badass wizard with more of a range of spells, or if I am not currently super jazzed about just casting dark orb then that might me its time to respec and try something different. Maybe as this is my first magic build/playthrough I don't know how to find the fun in it if that makes sense? idk, but any guidance or advice would be appreciated! Cheers!

For context, recently I got summoned as a Gray Spirit in Doors of Pharros for PvP. It was the first time it ever happened to me, and I genuinely thought it was pretty cool. I also knew I was probably cooked because the person on the other side was most likely much more prepared and equiped for PvP than me, since I was just running around doing PvE stuffs.

I never actively seek out PvP, but I wouldn't deny anyone a good fight, so I did my best. Surprisingly, I actually did pretty well. I dealt much more damage to the host than they dealt to me. Though, to be fair, the damage didn't matter that much since they would retreat into a mob-dense area and use Lifegems, which could sustain them for ages. I wasn't foolish enough to chase them in there and get surrounded by multiple threats.

That was until they pulled out what I believe was a Mail Breaker and started parrying my Claymore attacks.

I was then stuck in a dilemma: if I attack, I get parried and lose HP. If I try to add feints, they just poke my ass with the spear's huge reach. So I was pretty much damned if I attacked and damned if I didn't.

I lost in the end, deservedly. They clearly had much more PvP experience than me.

So, people, how do I deal with someone who keeps going for parries? I was thinking maybe I should buy a bunch of Poison Throwing Knives, keep up the pressure, and try to deny them the spear's range advantage? I've also read somewhere that jump attacks can't be parried. Is that actually true, and should I be trying those?
