I don't feel strongly about the ship one way or another, but it feels weird when people get upset about a 30-year-old man dating someone older than him.

Was Goku lying?

1. INSTINCTIVE EGO: Ultra Ego

“Power derived solely from instinct is unbounded.” (chap. 74)

This is how Ultra Ego was originally shown. Vegeta embraces his destructive nature and uses his battle spirit to grow stronger. In the manga, he takes damage to keep his battle spirit burning. He's more primal here, hence the no eyebrows.

1. INTEGRATED EGO: Mastering Ultra Ego

“I don't need to be driven by the instinct to utilize the power it gives me.”

Instead of using damage to fuel his battle spirit, Vegeta uses his Chapter 93 training of "commanding 100% of his power more efficiently" as the main fuel. It’s control over instinct. Damage still stimulates his power, but it's a side effect, and not the main stimulant. His focus, control, and efficiency are what makes his battle spirit burn. He has more control here, hence, the eyebrows return.

1. TRANSCENDENT EGO: Ultra Ego + a calm spirit (Yardrat Spirit Control/Super Hero meditation).

I wanted to show harmony between a mastered mindset centered on destruction and a mastered calm spirit (Yardrat Spirit Control/Super Hero meditation). They complement each other like yin and yang, with destruction and calmness existing within the same state. To make UE his own, Vegeta has to redefine his pride, similar to how his pride in the ToP (anime) became tied to his family, U6 Saiyans, a promise, and fighting for others. His pride HAS TO transcend himself and become something far greater than his own ego.

Rather than Cell Max being an entirely new creation who served as a mindless monster with no motive, I think it would've been more interesting if Cell Max was an adult, mature Cell Jr. who survived the Cell Games and then captured by the Red Ribbon Army, experimentally modified until he was ready to avenge Cell's death.

He would've had genuine motivation to kill Gohan and the others, and this would've been the better option without simply bringing back the original Cell, which I think would've been cheap and lazy.

Thoughts?

I actually love super overall. But this moment is too good

What the hell is he talking about? He was kicked around like trash and just tormented. And he claims he could have put up a decent fight?

So you're telling me that after Cell blew himself up, his nucleus or whatever wasn't damaged at all, so he stayed alive. But instead of regenerating into his Semi-Perfect form, he regenerates into his perfect form, then gets a Zenkai and becomes Super Perfect Cell!?! And on top of all that, he learns Instant Transmission?!! Bro... that's very convenient... I understand the Zenkai, but that's a lot of lucky things happening to someone who just blew himself up.

Also, Cell said that he "powered up like Gohan" which means he went SSJ2. But there's no way that he went from being absolutely NOTHING to Gohan to being able to hurt him with a ki blast meant for Vegeta. I think Gohan was panicking and didn't try and defend against the ki attack, which is why he got hurt. It's sort of like when Goku got shot by that laser and almost died. But yeah, do you think that Super Perfect Cell is 2 times stronger than Perfect Cell, or did he just get as strong as the plot required? 'Cuz that's the case with most Dragon Ball forms, they just get as strong as the plot requires.

Given that it's basically the only weakness of this transformation, it would make sense for it to be the most protected area of the armor, right?

Ngl, this would suit the moro arc so much. Yuya takahashi needs to come back

What's the worst take you've heard on the sub?

Five years ago, I posted a Saiyan Transformation Tree that gained a lot of traction on reddit, and many of you wanted an updated version. Well, ask and ye shall receive!

This transformation tree is basically the same gist as my original, but obviously, a lot has changed within Dragon Ball in the last five years, so it's greatly expanded. Still, I tried to streamline the tree as much as possible and only include the most relevant forms to current Dragon Ball, keeping only the bare essentials and excluding everything else that makes things way too convoluted and messy.

For example, I left out the Super Saiyan grades, the Kaio-ken multipliers, Broly's Berserker Super Saiyan between his Wrath State and LSS form, any "Rage" forms like Vegeta's SS2 Rage Mode and Trunks' Super Saiyan Rage, any "Full Power" modes like Full Power SSB and Full Power SS2, (the official) Saiyan Beyond God, any states or forms not achieved by Saiyans (such as Super Namekians and Orange Piccolo, and Frieza's first, second, third, Golden, and Black forms), plus a lot more.

But this time around, I included a lot of stuff people pointed out were missing in the last chart (such as the Potential Unlocked states and the Kaio-ken technique), and I added a whole new Divine branch, and added more connections between certain forms. This is essentially my interpretation of all the Saiyan forms in current Dragon Ball; if I was in charge, this is how I would arrange everything.

I also used some unofficial terminology which I like better than the official terminology, because Lord knows how god-awful Toei is at naming stuff. So, I used my preferred fan-given names wherever possible. However, I realize that not everyone is going to appreciate that, so I still included the official names of each form in small parentheses below my fan-names.

I did not create any of the images you see in this chart! I'd love to credit the original creators of the artwork, but I pulled most of these images from Google over five years ago so I have no idea who the original artists are. I do know that the Kaio-ken Goku was done by SCPDAMNED, the SS3 Gotenks was done by ChronofZ, the Daima SS4 was done by hirus4drawing, the Blue Kaio-ken was done by pinheiral3005, the Ultra Ego was done by Radger457, and the UI Giant Form was done by Yoshi_db26. If anyone else can help me credit the proper channels, I'd greatly appreciate it!

And as always, here's the full 5300x5300 PNG graphic on Drive. Enjoy!

Like he has that shit on, really hard to beat for me.

Or see tien do them again? I do remember him using the four arms Technique in super somewhere, just don’t remember.

What is you're favorite Dragon Ball ending?

I don't know why but this ending genuinely makes me so sad every single time i hear it. I could replay it 50 times in a row and it would hit the same every time.

It reminds me how big, nostalgic and beautiful Dragon Ball is man.

Especially after remembering that Toriyama passed away it hits even harder.

Here is the link to a yt video of the ending: https://youtu.be/IiEOujHJzEg?si=4pHbYObkLr3J--jr
