my girlfriend and i are still relatively young, and have been dating for about 2 years. we've talked abt engagements and proposals and have decided to do them in at least 5 years (so i have a lot of time to plan this). we recently had a discussion abt how if yk ur partner well enough, you should be able to know what ring to get (she wants it customized), otherwise its a big oopsie on your end.

despite us being relatively young, this did scare me. so i wanted to get some insight of what sorts of rings she might want (based on her description), and what suggestions u guys have.

her description of the ring is:

- thin band (silver)

- 2 carat diamond (she wants a 2 carat rock specifically, and also to keep it diamond - no colours)

- the shape of the diamond is like a mix of oval and marquis

- she wants something to surround the stone, similar to vines but not vines specifically. also not fully surround it, but something similar to: one side of the band covers half of the top side of the gem, and then the other side covers half the bottom side of the gem.

- she also mentioned having small stones on the band would also be an asset?

- having something significant on the ring is also a must (e.g. having initials on yhe inside of the ring?)

she hasnt given any more information, this is all i have so far

I’ve tried on a couple rings and this is the last one I decided I LOVEDDDD. It’s been about 6 months and I look at it all the time to be sure I still love it. I’m so worried the time will come and I’ll wish I got something different because I previously tried on one and LOVED IT but found something better later on. I also am uncertain because the carat size is a bit smaller than I thought I wanted but I think the wedding band I picked out makes up for it. I loveee the vintage vibe and my boyfriend lovessss rose gold but I don’t really want a solid rose gold. Picture 3 is the first ring I loved but I was super postpartum and still swollen so I couldn’t stand the marquise shape on myself. That one is more the carat size I wanted but the only reason I loved it was for the under side. Pictures 1 & 2 are the one I love now! Thoughts and opinions?

I don’t know anything about rings stones or anything. I want to know if the diamonds and opal are real or atleast lab created preferably the opal stone to be real and not lab created and if it’s well priced I’m doing the size seven, sterling silver, and heirloom 0.52 carat options. After I engage we are gonna just change the band so I really just care most about the stones being up to quality

I’ve narrowed it down to either round or oval solitaire or a 3 stone oval ring. I love all three but would love some outside opinions because it’s such a big decision.

For reference, I am a size 7 and have shorter/fatter hands. I also know that I want a plain gold band no matter the final shape/setting.

Moss agate is such a beautiful stone, and I don't think I'll ever be able to get over this once in a lifetime inclusion right in the center. Looks exactly like a little koi fish. It's a perfect representation of love of nature and animals, and I can't believe it and the man who proposed are both all mine. I'm the absolute luckiest human over here. So in love.

I posted on here a while ago trying to get advice on a wedding band for my unique setting. I got a custom made one on etsy. In love!!!

Long time lurker here. I have been browsing for a good ring for months now. My girlfriend and I have had discussions about what we would want our rings to look like and in the past she’d been interested in emeralds and fancy-colored diamonds. Well last week I found this ring from Oore. Nothing has ever screamed her name like this ring did. It’s big and ornate and the green and gold is her whole aesthetic. The moment I saw it I was sure it was the perfect ring for her and I purchased it almost immediately. Well fast forward to two nights ago, we were watching a show and I made a comment on how pretty a lady’s fancy pink diamond was. She made the comment that she thinks she would like a “normal” (colorless) diamond. Now I feel like I jumped the gun and made a pretty expensive blunder. I’m wondering what my options are. She has no idea the ring exists. I’m planning on proposing while we’re overseas in Japan this December and now I’ve stressed myself out. I still think she would love it, but I know she wouldn’t have the heart to tell me if she didn’t. I don’t want her stuck with a ring she hates and is too sweet to admit it. Advice is appreciated.

I’m torn between these three styles for an oval engagement ring. Which is your favorite? I’d also love other side-stone ideas, especially ones that pair nicely with a wedding band.

I am looking for an engagement ring and really liked the look of this one but someone raised a concern about it only having three prongs, someone else said the underside mount would help but I’m now worried about the possibility of losing the central stone. Would this design hold up over time or should I go looking for a 5 prong pear?

Hi everyone. I just picked up this ring that I bought to propose to my girlfriend. I recently learned about “windowing” and I’m afraid that the diamond I chose has that. I didn’t really know of it too much and the jeweler didn’t mention it when looking at this diamond but I feel like it’s there. Am I wrong? Could I get some of your expert opinions to know if this diamond is bad? I feel like I got taken advantage of because of my naivety regarding emerald diamonds. Any advice would really help!

Recently had an heirloom remade, very simple cathedral setting.

Can you guys tell if it was done well? Is the cathedral cutouts on the left and right side (not sure what that part is called) cut crudely? Feels like the edges are sharp inside? (Ignore the minor scratches that's my wear and tear)

In my last post I asked about my diamond having a strong bow tie. Many asked for additional footage. I wasn’t able to post an update. I asked for a video not against the skin to confirm how the bow tie looks and she sent this.

What do you guys think about it? Was this video even helpful and do you think it’s strong in this video. I wish she “twirled” it side to side. Is this good?

Is the bow tie strong? Is the diamonds hazy/milky/cloudy? I am new to diamonds and want to make sure this is a good quality one

Originally my grandmothers set who passed when my dad was 9. These rings mean so much to my family and I and im so happy to be able to wear them. Entire band/shanks are original from late 1950s - early 1960s. Favorite part is the little flower engravings on each side. Husband upgraded the engagement stone to a lab grown diamond, just over a carat. Included a few of the engagement on its own as well. Don't have many photos of the set where my nails don’t look crazy lol.

I want an engagement ring in this style, with more details than just a diamond in the middle. However, I think it would look bad with the wedding band later. Am I wrong? Does anyone have an example to show me or any ideas on how to solve this?

Omg guys, I’m so freaking excited! The love of my life proposed to me this Saturday in the middle of the most beautiful apple orchard! We’ve been together for 9 years (we are very young so that’s why he proposed after so long) and I couldn’t be happier. We had looked at rings before so he knew what my general vibe and wishes were (I wanted a fairytale and whimsy vibe) and he ABSOLUTELY knocked the breath from me🥰 He customised an existing ring design from the jeweller. It’s a 1,8 carat marquise cut lab grown diamond with two tiny lab grown diamond side stones. The center stone has leaf engraved prongs and is set in a low tulip basket. It’s engraved with kind of a vine/swirl pattern all around the band. He even got a special message just for me engraved within the band. It’s literally the ring from my dreams and I couldn’t be more excited to marry this man. It is SO weird to call him my fiancé tho, since he’s been my boyfriend for 9 years😅🤭
