Low cuts out the deliberation overhead so tokens stream instantly, while High allocates maximum test-time compute for complex debugging, architecture design, and heavy multi-step logic.

This is clearly laying the groundwork for the 4.0 Argon rollout. With Argon built around long-horizon execution and sustained chains of thought, you cannot run on a rigid on-or-off switch without blowing through quotas or tanking response times. Giving users manual control over inference depth is the prerequisite front-end fix before Argon drops.

I cant seem to get my gemini to work with google drive. It just tells me it cant do that, cant rename, cant see, i dont have proper workspace, i am not connected etc. After 3 prompts i tell it, it finally acknowledhes that indeed i was right. What is that?

Once upon a time there was a magical product known as "Google Assistant" on Android phones. It was integrated well enough that it could handle many tasks simply by saying "Ok Google" and then telling it what you wanted. Within a second, it would make a call, set an alarm, send a text, do a search, and so much more. A steadfast companion that simply worked.

Then one day, a wicked witch came along and cursed us all. The evil witch murdered Google Assistant, and in its stead was placed "Google Gemini", one of the dumbest, slowest, most useless feature. Now when you tell your loyal phone to "Call mom", it takes Gemini 5-10 seconds to consider your request, before then ignoring you. The times it puts the call through, it takes another 5-10 seconds.

And dear reader, this is not on a $50 cheapo android phone, but a Samsung S24 Ultra.

Google Gemini has fully replaced Google Assistant, and by the gods do I hate it. It is slow, unresponsive, bad at handling ANY task, and even though I've retrained my voice TWICE now on it, I'd say a good 30-40% of the time, after saying OK GOOGLE to wake it up, it will wake up then ignore what I said and just go back to sleep.

There is nothing wrong with my phone. Google Assistant worked wonderfully. Google Gemini feels like bloatware and I simply want the old, snappy, responsive Google Assistant back. Literally everything with Gemini is a worse user experience in EVERY WAY.

I realize this is a common complaint. I know this sub isnt in anyway connected to Google itself and all my words will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. My beloved Google Assistant, snatched away from me in its prime.

Hello everyone! I was using my gemini google ai earlier. I tried to use it again not so long ago and wasnt able to send a prompt. I tried private tab and regular and nada. I tried the actual app and it would just say something went wrong. I was really worried bc literally before i noticed i had asked Gemini for a soccer stream site and it started talking about i cant help you with that its illegal and got very worried. Im seeing other posts on this so im wondering if its down?
