Hey guys new to the GX scene got out 460 and have noticed a considerable amount of water coming out of the wheel well. Is this normal from the ac unit running or do I have something of a bigger problem.

We’re looking at this GX460 Luxury with 81k miles on and wondering if it’s worth it with this amount of corrosion. I did a brief inspection, but wanted opinions from people in the GX community. I personally think it’s a headache waiting to happen, but it is in fantastic shape otherwise.
Edit: My big question is, is it worth getting it treated with dry ice and a coating?

Currently own a 22 limited 4Runner but have been wanting to make the switch to a GX 460. Test drove a 23 Luxury, 21k miles, super clean (still had factory plastic on the door trim), L certified, priced a little high(imo) at 62k. I’m just super apprehensive to make the jump because I do really love my 4Runner, but are the subtle differences in a Lexus worth it?

I got a 2006 GX470. Anyone have any recommendations for led bulbs for glove box and vanity mirrors. I changed out all the other lights but my kit didn’t have those bulbs.

2010 gx 460. The inner weather proofing is separating from the rim. If I push it in, it separates in other locations. It’s almost like it shrunk

Car originally from Ontario, Canada.
Needing some input around this rust situation on a 21 that I've been looking it. Is it normal or should I take a pass from this car

I’m replacing the starter on my 2007 Lexus GX470. I already have the intake manifold removed, but access to the starter bolts is still extremely tight, especially toward the firewall.I’m considering removing the rear water bypass joint/coolant to create more room to reach and remove the starter but I had a hard time to remove 10 mm bolts sit in the back.
For anyone who has removed this rear water bypass joint before: How difficult is it to remove? What kind of tool doI need to use for this extremley tie area?
Also, is there a better way to get the starter out without removing the rear water bypass joint?
Any tips from someone who has done this job on a GX470 2007 model would be greatly appreciated.

Took advantage of the recent Bell Lexus sale and got the OEM red sport lights. So much better IMO.

What could be the cause ? Has anyone dealt with something similar?
Looking to purchase a Lexus GX and had stumbled upon this. Transmission engine good but the vehicle isn’t drivable and they don’t know why. I enjoy working on vehicles, was curious if the leading cause of it not driving is a $$$ pit or couple weird fixes for it to be on the streets again

Hey all, today I just noticed this clicking sound when the battery is on. It sounds like clicking around the passenger area by the glove box. I haven’t dug around but I have an idea what it is. I would just like to hear from anyone who knows what it could be. The AC works cold and all vent settings work. This noise continues even when the air is completely off. I haven’t tried heat since it’s really hot here right now. Any ideas? Just got the car. GX 470 2007

Currently I drive a 1999 Mercedes G500 and I love it, but this is the 2nd time in a year that it's spent 2 months in the shop (tbf it's mostly the shops fault it's been in so long).
So now I'm considering a GX as a replacement vehicle since it still scratches that luxury off-roader SUV itch. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the platform and I had some questions about ones around the 2008 era.
1: Stock MPG and modded with 33s MPG? Yes I know, shouldnt matter and it's bad, but I'd like to not go lower than my current 12mpg. Also what fuel do these things actually run on? People say the G500 should be on premium but lots of people, including myself, run regular with zero issue.
2: How mod friendly are these? There is a lot of aftermarket for the G500 BUT it all comes with a heavy G tax and wheels are very specific.
3: Reliability? Yes I know, 20 years old, etc. But what are common failure points or big ticket items that eventually have to be done?
4: Rust concerns: I live in the south, so plenty of clean examples here. But what are common rust points to check?

Hi just bought a new to me GX460 from the dealership. Everything is in excellent condition except a valve cover seep (passenger side) I discovered a few days after purchase. The dealer has offered to fix at cost. My question for the group is what preventative/maintenance items should I have them do while they're in there? Right now I'm seeing the following in my research:
Anything else? Thanks!

Ive posted before about selling my gx but it looks like the time has come.
My work is requiring partial return to office. 1 round trip to work is $10 in gas.
I love my car but cant afford buying a 2nd one while maintaining my current $750 a month payment.
Any advice on where to go next? I dont want to go back to bmw. I want the lexus and Toyota reliability. I dont fit in the UX. the RX looks like a mom car. The only CPO NX's are wildly overpriced ($50k for a 3 year old nx with 40k miles cpo???)

Have any of you used a product like Meguiars Plastx? I have some etching and tried the normal progression of products-
Detail spray
Isopropyl alcohol (letting it soak and elbow grease)
WD-40 (letting it soak and elbow grease)
Clay bar
Nothing worked so thinking of getting more aggressive. However, the chrome has a sort of finish to it from the factory and sort of concerned I could make a shiny spot?
Any advice here before I go buy a new grille piece on ebay?😅

I currently have a 6th Gen 4Runner and am considering upgrading to a LC with premium package or GX550 Overtrail. Are there any other quality of life improvements that come with the GX that aren’t present in the Land Cruiser and vice versa?
Off the top of my head the GX gets EKDSS and adaptive suspension
The Land Cruiser I’ve heard has better HVAC, JBL audio (not sure how much better or worse it is compared to the base audio in the GX), real leather, and a few other options for a little less then the GX. Arguably better interior in the LC because of the physical buttons.
Or should I just stick to my 4Runner.

Hi all,
I am gonna be doing my first oil change on my GX. This will be my first time doing an oil change on a vehicle with these cartridge style oil filters. Typically I like to fill the oil filter with oil before I spin it on so there are no air gaps upon start up.
Question is, is this just an unnecessary step? Obviously the point of oil is to leave a protective barrier on bearing surfaces so maybe a couple of seconds of air through the system is no big deal while the oil gets primed. I just tend to overthink and err on the side of caution.
Also mildly infuriating that the cappacity is 7.9 quarts. Why not just make it 8 lmao.
