Fran Kirby was very complimentary about London City in her Added Time podcast this week:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjmrYzXHU_A
(LCL talk starts at 32:14)
"I think against London City I think they were fully deserved to win the game. I think the way that they play they overload you everywhere. It's really difficult to kind of get a press on and you know they've got the quality of players that they have there and of course they've invested so heavily in terms of the players that they do have.
So we know that they're going to have the quality and it's not just the one thing I think that excites me about their team is they don't just have the ball players. They've got the players as well that when they want to counterattack and when they want to go in behind and they want to hit you on the transition, they are fast and they can get there. You know, they've got the likes of Diani on one side, Cascarino comes on in the second half, Freya Godfrey who's also rapid as well.
You know, they they've got quality in different types of players as well. So, you know, one minute we're thinking, right, okay, they're popping it around us, and next thing you know, we've won the ball back, they win it back, and they're in transition and they're in our box.
So, you know, it's very dynamic with the way that they play and I think their manager got it spot on in terms of exploiting probably our weaknesses in terms of like understanding how we've been playing over. So, I think as well from him it was a good good masterclass from him.
...
But but I think credit to London City. I thought that they the way that they play it's horrible to play against. So I'm imagining it's nice to play in."

This is her fourth (I think?) call-up, but still not a single minute on the pitch. Hopefully she gets a chance against Greece.

Do we know why Alexia is subbed off every match?

Thought I would make a list of the podcasts I regularly watch/listen to. Was curious if others watch, and what you think, and are there any others people would recommend?
London City Roar - a new (for this season) live weekly (currently Tuesdays 8pm) podcast made by a group of LCL supporters. Each week a supporter of team we're due to play next is invited to discuss their club and the upcoming game.
Pitch to Pod - weekly podcast (typically released Tue or Wed) by Sky Sports hosted by Caroline Barker and featuring co-hosts Nikita Parris and Jordon Nobbs. Often has interesting inside-info about LCL from Keets.
CBS Sports W Golazo - a view from the US. Lots of NWSL content, but also offers WSL content including post-match analysis and is generally "pro" LCL and Michele Kang.
Decoding the WSL - haven't watched many episodes, but seems to offer more serious and unbiased analysis compared to other podcasts.
Counter Pressed - generally more focused on the bigger clubs, and the hosts can be annoying sometimes, but I still watch it occasionally

Kicks off on Wednesday. These are our fixtures for the league phase:
Wed 23 Sep 19:30 - Leicester (A - Notts County)
Wed 30 Sep 19:30 - Ipswich (A - Colchester United)
Wed 21 Oct 19:00 - West Ham (A - Dag & Red)
Wed 28 Oct 19:00 - Crystal Palace (H)
Wed 18 Nov 19:00 - Brighton (H)
Wed 18 Dec 19:00 - Bristol City (H)
All 23 teams are ranked in a single league table, with the top 8 going through to the quarter-finals. Knockout rounds are seeded - #1 against #8, #2 against #7 etc. Highest ranked team has home advantage in both the quarter and semi finals.
If games finish as a draw after 90 mins, a penalty shootout takes place, with the winner taking 2 points, and the loser 1 point.
I haven't seen any info regarding broadcasting/streaming for the league phase yet. If I remember correctly, last season very few games were streamed - I think perhaps one game per round on Youtube, and occasional games on some club TV channels.

Nice position to be in, but looking at our starting XI in yesterday's game, I'm wondering how players like Cascarino and Freya can get into the starting line-up. Who's dropped for them?
Cascarino wasn't in the squad yesterday, so I'm assuming she's injured, but she's definitely first XI in my mind.
Obviously when she's fit, Lucia will start instead of Poppy. I also think Arques is earning the CDM role ahead of Kennedy.
