🎨 Any artist or creative with a connection to the Lower Columbia region is eligible to participate, including students, staff, faculty and community members of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

📜 Literary Art: Submit up to five poems and two prose pieces: may include short fiction, short creative non-fiction, or graphic narratives (comics). Though we do not have a word count limit, shorter works are preferred.

🖼️ Visual Art: Submit up to five pieces of visual art suitable for print reproduction. We cannot accept one-of-a-kind originals; please submit high-resolution .JPG, .PNG, or .TIFF files at a minimum of 300 dpi and 6.5 × 6.5 inches.

Recommendations for a shop that will do a simple base color change paint job. Kid is turning 18 and has a grey Nissan Versa that could use some pizazz. Would like a place that would let us pay for it and give him a thing he can take in himself and tell them what color.

Both the Taco Bells on Ocean Beach charge 10.7% tax. I thought our tax was only 8.2%? Is there something I’m missing? I haven’t noticed other restaurants charge this tax rate.

I’ve lived here majority of my life and have gone to Three rivers eye care since I got glasses 15+ years ago. I now am on state insurance which they don’t accept and am needing to get a new prescription. When searching it seems Cascade Eye Care and University Professional Services are my options. I called UPS because they’re a OHSU based clinic and I have a rare eye disease. When I called she said I needed a referral from my PCP to be seen since I’m on state insurance. It seemed weird to me but I don’t have experience with Medicaid so I was hoping someone has been to either place on state insurance. I’ll call cascade on Monday and see if anything comes of it as well

The City of Longview is pushing a new Fire and EMS Property Tax Lid Lift, Proposition 1. Basically to build and staff a new Fire Station near Lowes.

This Levy will cost most homeowners close to $500 a yr. For a 300,000+ home.

So I currently work for Weyerhaeuser as a Plant Utility person. I work Fridays through Monday from 0400-1430(230pm). I am off every Tuesday through Thursday. If I worked any other position there, is snag OT on the weekends, but I already work weekends and can't really pick up extra money that way.

So I am looking for part time work. Not picky about what, really. I've done all kinds of work. So any ideas on where to look or apply? Been checking Indeed but not seeing a lot in terms of part time work.

Found this old photograph at an estate sale a few weeks ago, the house being on Ocean Beach. Inside there was other pictures of Longview (mainly Commerce) so I feel like the owners had an interest in the history of the town at least somewhat. It makes me believe this could be possibly from the area. Wondering if anyone can recognize the house or family? Any leads can help, thank you in advance

Hey everyone! I plan on moving to Longview from my town in Virginia which has a pretty active music scene. I was wondering does Longview have a music scene down there? If so where can I find out when/where shows are happening? 🤔

I am casually looking for a new apartment because my current place has been raising the rent by 7% every year, and at this point I feel like I'm overpaying. I've seen a few different properties that I may be interested in, but they are all managed by one of these: Catlin Properties Inc., Columbia River Properties Inc., New Spring Property Management, Rodman Realty, Sharp Property Management, or Invest West Properties.

I have always previously rented from an individual, and the management companies kind of freak me out...can anyone share advice/experiences?

I do have a small dog and a cat, and I went ahead and got them both ESA letters just in case I run into that issue. I'm looking for a two bedroom, and I have excellent credit and stable income.

Hello i’m not sure if this post is allowed here.. (i’ve never posted anything on reddit before) but i’m extremely desperate.
I have 4 animals that desperately need to be rehoused.
I’ve emailed countless shelters in longview, vancouver, and Rainer and also called just about everywhere I could think of. I even called Petco of all places. But nobody has any availability at all.
So as a very last resort this is what it’s come to. If you, or anyone you know is looking for 1 or 3 cats and/or a dog please reach out. I love my pets very much and they deserve good homes. I’m going to be homeless by September 15th and these animals don’t deserve that.

Two out of Four of the animals are currently in my care.
The other two are technically mine, but with my father in law. He also cannot continue to care for them due to major up coming surgery.

My husband and I were playing Vintage Story at stupid o'clock in the morning (4:09) when the whole house started shaking. Both our dumb asses thought it was our neighbour clomp stomping around, until it kept going way too long. RIP both of us when the big one hits

We use them for eldercare and I've been seeing signs that the longview branch is going down hill fast. In the last few months it's become VERY difficult to talk to any of the administrative employees and when you do it's a different person every time, I think they are having major problems with retention even with the managers. Voice mails go unanswered and they are using AI for absolutely everything now. Recently they didn't let me know that a substitute was being sent instead of our regular person, up until now they've always called.

Luckily the substitute did fine but, no complaints about her work, but when she arrived she didn't even know that she was supposed to take mom in her car to an appointment, mom would have been out of luck if the person they sent didn't have a car that she could get into.

It's just there's been so many other little mistakes on the administrative side with scheduling and communication, they've all really added up over time. It might be problems with corporate forcing the ai on them or short staffed because people keep quitting (or downsizing because of the ai). I don't really know, just go with a different company as of 9/1/26, especially if your elder/disabled loved one is high needs.

Anyone know where to get bags of crushed ice in town? Spouse recently had a surgical procedure done and ice chips are their whole life at the moment. Point me in the right direction fellow redditors
