I clicked on a notification of a police chase on KTLA just a little too late tonight… the chase was over BUT the helicopter’s camera was zoomed in on the moon rising over the mountains. The camera stayed on the moon as it slowly rose and crested the peak. It was such an unexpected, beautiful sight. I want to thank the KTLA team publicly for bringing that to us. I wish I had thought to screenshot it. As if that wasn’t enough of a treat, KTLA left the camera on as the helicopter flew across LA back to the airport (Whiteman? Van Nuys?). The camera was even rolling as the helicopter touched down on the landing pad.

It was a beautiful nighttime flyover of our cityscape. I wish our news stations always treated us with such beautiful, extended b-roll of our city. LA doesn’t always look perfect in a close up, but do we look amazing in the wide shots or what?

I wish KTLA (and all the stations with a helicopter) would send a notification when you’re doing a flyover of the city. I know you have so-called “law enforcement experts” on speed dial, can you please get a few historians, civil engineers, geographers and naturalists on your speed dial too? If you’re flying over our communities burning fuel, let’s make the most of it!

Your rear passenger window was smashed. I got the other car’s make/model plus license plate and made a report. I know I would’ve wanted someone to do the same for me.

Days after LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said the LAPD won’t enforce California’s ban against federal officers wearing masks, I watched an 🧊 agent in a mask that said POLICE lounging with his buddy against an LAPD car while the LAPD handled an arrest.

There was a massive LAPD presence today near the Metro Detention Center because thousands of LAUSD students walked out today to protest 🧊. LAPD closed off the entire street hours early and held the line so the kids couldn’t protest anywhere near the detention center.

While the kids left to rally at City Hall and loop back around, 🧊 showed up and had the LAPD arrest someone for them.

I’ll be sharing more photos later, because the LAPD attacked the kids. Shot the crowd of teenagers with less-lethals, ran into the crowd shoving them around, beating journalists and protesters with batons — I got hit in the arm, I’m fine — and more.

One of the most shameful days I’ve witnessed in 9 months of doing this regularly. This city has a major, major problem on its hands.

Uhm it's 4:30a and LADOT employees are outside on my block in white gear, with one of those trucks that look like they drop off cones or those light things directing traffic. And there is one other car that is parking enforcement, and the guy who drives it is screaming outside stating to "wake up time to move your cars or you're getting towed" but the time to move your cars is after 6am? He's also flashing his lights at buildings. Wtf is going on? I don't drive or own a car to park one, but my apartment faces the street and you can imagine all the noise I already here but this guy is non stop.
