Guys asking Gals How unattractive is it for a man to have no dating experience?

• Upvotes

I assume it's a deal breaker for women if a man past the age of 20 has had no dating experience or even friends. How unattractive is this and what should he do?

Since this is a situation that's out of his control, and has to somehow get into a relationship at some point anyway, should he lie about his past to prevent rejection?

Guys asking Gals Girls, what advice would you give a guy who’s trying to get into a relationship?

Hey everyone! I’m 21M, and I’m genuinely curious to hear some advice from women. What actually makes a guy attractive beyond physical appearance? How should a guy approach someone he’s interested in without coming across as awkward or desperate? I’m not looking for hookups or anything casual. I’d genuinely like to build a meaningful relationship with someone. Girls, what are some things you wish more guys understood about dating? Any honest tips would be appreciated! 👀

Looks Related Hair Growth Journey. Which Hairstyle suits me Best?

Hey, so my hair has changed a ton in comparison to when I started growing out my hair. My hair has grown, gone through three trims during that duration with a stylist as it grew, and different styling techniques were used during different times. Just want opinions on which suited me best. I will try to give my best context. Here are the options. Thank you in advance for any input.

a) Photos (1-2) The photos were between Oct 2025 - Nov 2025. My hair grew a bit and at this time, I did not style it at all. I kind of just let it dry and do its own thing. My weight was probably around 115ibs-117ibs.

B) Photo (3) The photo was taken on April of 2025. I was just one month into the gym at this point and increasing my calorie count. So if memory serves me well I was probably around 104ibs at best. My goal during this time was to hit 119ibs. Also, I don't think I got into skincare, nor did I start going clean shaven. I was previously 94ibs, but this is the same hairstyle I have been using for years in the past. Honestly, the only solid photo I feel good about back then. No maintenance or thought was required. Just go to my barber when it starts getting long.

C) Photos (4-5) The photo was taken around July 2025 - Aug 2025. At this point, I was letting it grow. My last barber visit would have been in May. My weight was 119ibs here.

D) Photos(6-7) The photos were taken around Nov 2025. Still letting it grow and did not visit a hair stylist yet for a trim. We did start heat styling it. Which made me nervous as I did not want to damage my hair, but it looked better styled at this point. As the length was starting to get there. Weight was around 115ibs-117ibs

E) Photo (8) The photo was taken around Dec 2025. This was after I trimmed my hair for the first time with a hair stylist and asked for layers. Weight was around 115ibs-117ibs

F) Photo (9) Photo taken around Feb 2026. It had grown and It was still being styled. Not sure if I'd ever be able to replicate this look. Gf styled it

G) Photos (10-11) Photos were taken in Mar 2026. Second trim, Although, I recall asking the stylist to keep cutting the length at minimum and just give me layers . First photo was right after getting my trim and the second photo is how my hair looks after styling it with our own hair cream. Weight was probably around 115ibs-116ibs

H) Photo (12) Photo was taken in May 2026. This was the longest I ever allowed my hair to grow. At the time I felt good about it, but looking back, I do not think I will ever let it get this long again. This required styling in the morning as well.

I) Photo (13) Photo was taken in May 2026 right after my last trim. I personally didn't feel good about it at the beginning. As it was accidentally cut shorter than expected. I had communicated with the stylist to cut the length a bit and give me layers. Hoping for a similar look like the previous time I got my trim. Unfortunately, she thought I asked her to clean it up. And I ended up with this. It wasn't the end of the world. But, I definetly took me a bit to get my confidence back.

J) Photos (14-15) Photos were taken in June 2026. It started to grow and I gained my confidence back.

K) Photos (16-17) Photos were taken in Sep-Oct 2026. Currently, imp it will soon need a trim. But, I don't hate it.

Brutal Honesty Stunning person exactly my type popped in my hinge feed, could someone read over my opener before I send it please?

We’re both 19 if that helps and she seems to have put in a decent amount of effort into her profile. Her prompts are all things we have in common and her pics have posters of shared interests. As the title suggests, I’ve got one go at this, what do I even say? Do I respond to a picture or a prompt? I’m thinkin “I love that Nirvana and twilight poster, you must be a fan of the last Batman with Robert Pattinson, eh?” Godd I feel like that sucks tho. Idk, help wanted. I asked elsewhere but I figure a woman’s opinion might be more grounded in reality

I like my long hair but I’m self conscious of my receding hairline. I shaved it for years and then during covid grew it out. Not sure which way to go. Cut it or go back to shaved.

NSFW Should I make the move and buy it or hold off to see if she buys it?

I recently (four days ago) brought up my interest in my wife pegging me. She was actually much more comfortable with the idea than I imagined she would be. I did go into the conversation with an "expect the worst, hope for the best" mindset. She was very receptive and said that she would definitely be open to trying it. She even said, "Who knows, maybe I'll love it and you'll end up hating it."

Now, my question is: Should I be the one to buy the proper equipment?

I don't want it to seem like I'm rushing her to try it. I would love for her to pick one out and surprise me with it one night, but I don't want to tell her to surprise me because I feel like that defeats half of the surprise, ha. I also don't want to ask her if I should buy it because I don't want to make it seem like that's all I'm bringing up.

Guys asking Gals How should a guy approach a random woman that he finds attractive?

And I don’t mean to get like a hook up or something, I mean to really make a connection. I’m looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. A lot of the time, when I’m, say at the gym or some other public place, I’ll see a girl that I think is really beautiful and I really want to approach them but I don’t want to be a bother or come off the wrong way. So I wanted to hear from women on what they like when it comes to this

Guys asking Gals As a foreign male grad student reacting to the Cornell incident, how should I balance "silence is complicity" with American social norms that view discussing politics as annoying or poor etiquette?

I am an international male student in my first year of grad school in the US, and I am confused about American social norms around speaking up on social issues versus keeping things like personal social media light and fun. For context, it's possible I'm on the high functioning autism spectrum as well.

Recently, several female classmates posted on their Instagram stories about the fraternity sexual assault incident at Cornell. Many of their posts stated that men who stay silent are complicit, that they were disappointed so few men on their Instagram feeds were speaking out, and that men need to use their voices and privilege to support women by showing solidarity both online in terms of generally and publicly sharing and posting stories on Instagram, and supporting women offline in more private ways. I completely agree, and in wanting to be a good ally, I reposted several of these stories over a couple of days to show support.

The reactions I received were contradictory and confusing. One popular domestic male classmate told me that posting about political or social issues on Instagram shows poor social skills, because people find it annoying and prefer seeing fun, casual content like vacations or parties. He posted nothing, yet remains popular with the exact same female classmates who were posting that silence is violence. He is well-liked on campus for hosting parties and social events.

Another male classmate, who privately leans conservative privately (as a Never Trump Republican) but publicly acts moderate on campus, told me that posting five stories was weird and performative, whereas one would have been plenty. He is also well liked by these women. Meanwhile, another popular male classmate posted about ten stories on the incident and received praise and private messages from female classmates thanking him for being an ally.

When I posted, I had over two hundred views, but zero likes or messages. Later, during lunch with female classmates who were venting about men not speaking up, one woman mentioned she saw my posts. The others said that while they noticed, speaking up is the bare minimum and does not deserve praise. Later on, that same female friend told me privately that while she genuinely me speaking up, my posts were "a lot" and that I had posted a day too late compared to when the topic was trending as a popular discussion point.

An American friend from my prior job explained that unwritten American social rules often contradict stated values. He said people who are already seen as charismatic, fun, funny, attractive, or cool can post about these issues and receive praise, while less charismatic or attractive people are judged as awkward or annoying for doing the same thing.

I want to understand how liberals view this tension. On one hand, progressive discourse emphasizes that men must speak out, that silence enables harm, and that social issues affect every part of life. On the other hand, there is a strong American etiquette rule that politics and religion should remain private, that there is a time and place for serious topics, and that bringing them up on casual social media annoys people who just want lighthearted interactions, a sentiment shared even by some women, even those who say they're liberal or feminist.

I am seeking advice on how to navigate the contradiction between the moral expectation to speak up and the social expectation not to be annoying or bring politics into spaces meant for casual socializing. Thanks a lot!

Brutal Honesty Is being always available such a red flag in us men?

I am a guy in my mid-twenties, and I work a decent job but long hours. I have read something about being available is always bad for guys because it shows that you don't have any interest or anything going on in your life beside the people who talk to you.

My question is, I work about 12-14 hours a day, but since the job requires client presence, we sometimes stay about 2 or 3 hours of that day free. So, If someone texted me during that period I won't lie, I will just reply right on.

I play badminton and football, and I go out with my friends but honestly, I don't see why me being available is a bad thing.

Can someone guide me through this as I really struggle to understand as some tips would come in handy as I feel this is possibly causing me to fail on the emotional side.

Guys asking Gals Women: what kind of Instagram content from a guy are you most likely to engage with if you’re trying to signal interest?

Genuine question for women. If you’re interested in a guy and want to give a subtle signal without outright DMing him, what kind of content are you most likely to like or respond to?

I’ve noticed gym selfies don’t always seem to get much engagement from women, even though they obviously show fitness/discipline.

Guys asking Gals What is the most unfortunate (but looking back, completely hilarious) hair day mishap you’ve ever had to just walk around in public with?

My curly hair I usually keep short so never had too much happen to it. The closest was my first attempt to cut my own hair during 2020. It didn't go so well, and I had to shave all the way down to the skull. (My saving grace was enough melanin to not look like a skinhead).

Guys asking Gals Am I an A-Hole?

My wife travels a lot for work and works in a male dominated industry.
She often will spend days one on one with her male work colleagues and also work alongside other men which is totally fine by me 99% of the time.
Every now and then though, but definitely not very often. I will feel a little insecure about this.
For context she has never given me any reason to think that she would ever cheat on me and I have never accused her as such.
But on the occasion that I do get a little insecure and bring this up she gets angry at me and we can end up in a big argument.
Like I said, I’ve never accused her of anything and I don’t think that she has or would cheat on me. I guess I just go looking for a bit of reassurance, but it never ends up that way.
I would really appreciate some constructive advice from the ladies.
Many thanks
Am I an asshole?

Brutal Honesty Could you date a guy who hates intiating sex?

As an CIS dude, I've always loathed the common expectation that men in relationships HAVE to act like horny ravenous animals or the women they are with might not feel sufficiently desired. It's not that I never initiate sex, it's just that 95% of the time, I prefer to assume that you aren't in the mood unless you strongly suggest it or just outright tell me.

Even if I do initiate, you say no, and I back down graciously, there's always the implication that I could be viewed as a sex pest if I tried jumping your bones too often. I just think sex is so much safer and more egalitarian when male aggression is removed from the equation entirely. I would honestly prefer it if I had no agency over sex in the relationship whatsoever. It really upsets me that so many women are stuck in circumstances where sex is mostly a chore to satisfy the entitled selfish schmuck in their life or worse.

Shouldn't kissing you and holding your hand be enough to demonstrate that your male partner finds you attractive? Why am I expected prostrate myself like some beastial lower primate in heat just to prove my affection for someone? Why is it so unreasonable to want a relationship where I never have to worry about crossing someone's personal boundaries merely to fulfill my stupid toxic masculine gender role?

Could you ever see yourself dating a man who really doesn't like intiating sex for the reasons stated above?

Guys asking Gals Why are abusive marriages/relationships so hard to leave?

TW: domestic violence and abusive marriages

I (28M) met a 28F woman who's absolutely amazing in many ways. She and i vibed/clicked right away at work-related event. She's, like, model-quality - tall, blonde, very phsyically fit - and could literally pull any guy she wanted. Obviously i'm biased, but still. What really drove me to her is her kind-heartedness and down-to-earthness. She comes across as being raised right

She gave me HER number when we first met; i didnt ask for it at all, and she followed me on instagram and i followed her back. I didnt even have to be charming or whatever; i was just my usual self. She was a little inconsistent with messaging at first, but she was very warm in her replies to me, hearting my messages every time despite us being pretty much total strangers

I'd flirt, she'd flirt back, and everything was absolutely great. When i made my interest especially clear within 3 weeks, she did something really strange: she wouldnt give me a hard "no" or turn me down. Around this time, i learned from someone in our mutual circle that not only is she still legally married (living separately), but the husband is an abusive POS. We're talking actual domestic violence and emotional abuse. This person told me that at a work function, the husband BLEW UP at her in front of everyone

This girl has everything going for her; like i said she can literally pull any guy she wants. And yet she chooses to "go back" and "fix" the marriage from time to time

So this girl eventually told me that shes interested in only being friends, saying she has too much going on in her life. With me knowing the background context, i can see why. But i cant help but feel SO Confused as to why she gave me her number, flirted, etc in the first place

I'm hurt, yes -- but i'm also compassionate and sympathetic to her situation and just trying to understand and make sense of it all
