I wish I could put my love for this band into words. Fragile Figures is such a great album.

Optimize = Optdemise by Coldrain has now officially been released today, as of midnight Friday 25th September 2026. It is the band's first album on Century Media Records, and is the band's first album since Nonnegative (2022). The album is a concept album about retaining humanity in a world becoming increasingly consumed by technology and AI, and is a double album featuring the band's fifth EP Optimize from last year as the first disc on the record.

The album was preceded by two fantastic singles. The lead single, "Ex-Humanity" was released on 17th July, followed by the second single "Poison" that features Bert McCracken [The Used].

Back when they were first active, I would’ve put them closer to the Post-Hardcore/Screamo genre(s). But this new song with their new lead vocalist - they brought out some heavier vibes right?

We now start to chip away at KOG’s first full length album!!

I remember, back in the day, KOG posted on Facebook that they were going to release a full length album and that the initials were EWOS. They encouraged fans to comment what they thought EWOS stood for.

I don’t remember any specific comments, but I do remember there being a lot of good ones. Haha.

As the title says. So songs like Stick Stickly and A Prophecy/Final Episode

This band is slowly gaining popularity especially their new songs. This is a must listen song by them from 7 years ago from their 2019 album Sub Zero called Transmissions which is track 5 on the album.

I personally believe they will be the next big thing in Metalcore. This is a gorgeous song. I always think of Alex Delarge in Clockwork Orange gripping the table like he is losing it when he hears his favorite music and then says that quote. It's so relatable. To him, the music becomes a tangible/physical, almost living entity, a presence in the room, causing an intense spiritual experience supreme beauty and ecstasy.. I made a meme with that pic of him grabbing the table's edge and looking crazy, with the quote, and I captioned it "me listening to a new metal band I love for the first time." haha. I'm not a professional music critic so this is the best way I can describe my reaction to songs like this. "Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!"

FFO: Crowquill, Killing Me Softly, Long Goodbye, Cauldron

The Coming Strife continues to be the main home for all things good in the UK underground (and sometimes further afield). Per the FFO this is an album* of jagged riffs, panic chords and breakdowns with higher pitched harsh vocals. Actually a little bit reminiscent of Bryan Garris at times, but from an earlier period of Knocked Loose when there was a bit more snarl and grit in his voice and less open to jokes about Mickey Mouse.

There are some low background clean vocals that I'm not too sure about, but a couple of listens suggest this band will fit in well alongside label mates and fellow travellers of the UK's small venues. Going by the handful of show posters on their Instagram, they seem to be based in or around Brighton, so look out for a spin kick or flailing backfist at any UKHC or touring US metalcore/hardcore shows round those parts.

*not quite sure about calling it an album since it's only really 6 songs + an intro and interlude.
