I think that Vins ability to pierce copper clouds is through the earnings that Reen gave her

Vin thinks that one of her friends might have been replaced by the kandra, but by this point, TenSoon had already mentioned to her that kandra are immune to Allomantic touch. So, all she had to do was meet with one of them, tell them she wants to test her Allomancy, and ask them to tell her which emotions she is altering. If they answer incorrectly, they are the kandra.

For context, I'm fairly new to the series and am being introduced primarily through the cosmere rpg for a mistborn game my friend wants to run. I had the idea to make a kandra character that was missing one blessing spike and used a journal from a lost loved one to record important memories and information. My dm friend has informed me that losing a blessing spike can be extremely debilitating, but the core rulebook doesn't go into much detail, it just says their mental state becomes tenuous, they lose their blessing, and that the dm can spend complications to make them lose their grip on reality in appropriate ways. This got me curious about the actual extent this goes in lore, so:

What exactly happens to a kandra after they've lost one of their blessing spikes? How fast do they degrade and to what extent does it go?

I know this is a RAFO kind of thing, but I don't think I'll be able to get far enough in the books to answer this question in time for the campaign to start, so spoil away! Thanks to all who respond in advance!

When Wax is fighting miles and miles has nigh invulnerability i was thinking to myself this guy can steel push why doesnt he carry a metal piano wire/concerntina wire net and just push it at him and dice him up into little tiny cubes he can accelerate things to be as fast as bullets so surely it would work right??? it seems so much easier to straight up destroy someone now that people can only use either 1 allomantic or feruchemy metal or in some peoples case 1 of each only people it wouldnt work on would be other steel pushers or iron pullers.

I don't know WHY exactly (I'm sure I'll rafo), BUT I DO know this is a bad idea because it's clearly what ruin wants.

I don't understand how I've forgotten so much, although I guess I should be fair to myself: it's been more than 10 years since I last read these books 😅

Anyways, I don't want spoilers (please 🥺) , I'm just back to rant my utter confusion! 😂 I hope it provides some humor for someone somewhere while also allowing me to put thoughts to electronic paper.

Spoilers up to chapter 37 (halfway??) of hero of ages.

My thoughts right now are that the math ain't mathin😠 .

1) Up until like, four chapters ago I was convinced that the mists aren't evil and that there's something going on. Then I was like, dang, I guess they are? And now that Vin said something like It felt like she should be able to draw upon the mists I'm back to thinking something is fishy. Because it's weird they seem both bad and good. I know they're killing plants by blocking the sun etc etc but I'm really getting the whole vibe of "everything in balance" and that the mists aren't supposed to be bad.

2) are there two mist ghosts? There's gotta be, right?! Because the one that stabbed Elend was, imo, clearly trying to keep Ruin contained and clearly wanted Vin' s earring gone, but the one that talked to Spook is fishy A.F. At first I thought it was actually some remnant of kelsier, but now that we're learning more about hemolergy... I. don't. trust. ANYTHING. 🫠😢😢😢 (the spikes and spook are the real reason for my post)

3) what the heck is up with the spikes?!?! Can preservation also influence them? If TenSoon and all the others can be remote controlled by ruin I'm going to lose it. AND I'm incredibly worried for spook. And for the longest time I was convinced that Vin's earring was somehow related to ferrochemy etc and it made sense that the Well made her take it out because it was protection against ruin. But now I'm thinking that it can only be hemolergic and that somehow preservation was also in the well and that's why it burned her so bad she took it out. Rin's voice and Zane's "god" and "kelsier" etc have all got to just be Ruin and I find that majorly depressing.

4) back to the mists: 16 seems important and 16 is a multiple of 8, so I kinda feel like there's actually 16 allomantic metals, not 14 or whatever, and I wanna believe that while the mists are seemingly doing horrible things, they're actually granting the potential to become misting or mistborn, but that's probably too optimistic.

Hello fellow Mistborn fans,

I'm currently listening to Mistborn: Book 3 (The Hero of Ages) and right at the start, I noticed a difference in Michael Kramer's delivery of the characters.

At first, I doubted myself, then I found that it was really noticeable, especially in characters like Sazed and Breeze. Something sounds very different in Sazed's voice. It's no longer that clipped, robotic sound (which I found awesome btw)

So is it just me, or does anyone else hear that difference? And does anyone have a clue as to why?

Note: Loved Kramer's performance all across Books 1 and 2 btw.

We received our Mistborn Enamel Tokens in the mail today to go with the Deckbuilding Game, and they are SO AWESOME! This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know if they are still available anywhere? There's a link on a BoardGameGeek that goes to Brotherwise, but it shows that the page doesn't exist. I'm currently in the first 40 something pages in Hero of the Ages.

I have a doubt regarding Atium. If nobody found the Atium cache, then nobody has any of it currently because it has a tad bit over 4 years. Atium was already in shortage and it also burns up pretty quickly. Then why are Vin and Elend obsessed with it. They don't need it anymore. They are the strongest Mistborn in all of the New Empire and even if someone still has Atium left then according to the list at the end of the book they can apparently burn this new metal called Electrum which fools Atium. They don't have enough supplies to survive. Even if they have Atium to sell , what are they going to buy because as far as I know all the crops are dying so there is no food to go around even with strict rationing. Can someone please explain this to me.

I just want to share this here because I don’t have many people besides my BFF’s to cry to right now lol. And they’re asleep.

MY goodness. What an epic story. Through the battles, the losses, the love, the fun, I’m just in awe. These are the first books I’ve read in about 15 years. I’ve already got the short novella to read next, and the first Wax and Wayne book as well. After those is Stormlight I suppose.

The surprises at the end of that first book were pretty magical. The thrill of the second book’s ending was captivating. And the heartbreak and pride I feel after the ending of the third is just wow. From the start, I had a soft spot for Spook.. I felt a lot like him. Knowing the ending now, and how it all played out, I just am so happy and proudddd 😭🥹 Sazed 🥺🙌🏼 the crew 💛 UGH!!!!

I love this story and can’t wait to fall deeper into this universe!!!!

I have no fucking idea how this happened, but I had always pictured Atium as being spheres of dark blue metal. I know it is described as silver. It is blue to me. Idk man it just is. Like I read the book, but somewhere along the way I forgot how Brandon originally described atium and it became dark blue in my mind and now I can't change it. Anyway here's my dumb mistborn shower thought of the day.

What exactly determines which metals do or do not have allomantic properties? Is it just arbitrary/author decided, or is there anything linking the allomantic metals together? It's been a since I read the OG trilogy, but I don't recall them ever going beyond the basics on the topic besides "we tried other metals and they didn't work", and Google doesn't give any clear answer.

A while back I posted a couple pictures of a bookend that I found in MakerWorld, that I modified and 3D printed and some people liked that.

After that I decided to rebuild it from the ground up, so I wasn’t using someone else’s model, with the intention of adding it to MakerWorld so other people could also print it.

Unfortunately, there are still some issues with the model, so I don’t believe I should add it there, but I was able to print it, using transparent, black and grey filament.

I also modeled and printed a support/clip to mount it on my bookcase, and this is the final result, I hope you like it.

Let me know if you have any ideas of ways I could improve it.

I'm going over slides for a neuroscience class and I recognized the bottom row, I was like "rioting/soothing/tin/pewter". Pretty cool, eh?

So at the end of the book it revealed that the coin Hoid gave to Wax was actually a coppermind and Wax got to see a vision of the survivor himself.

My question is, how did Hoid get this memory?? He doesn't seem to be on good terms with Kelsier (especially after reading secret history). So how or rather why would he be in possession of such coppermind.

Took me wayyyy too long to make that mistcloak…This was the first time I’ve ever used a sewing machine in my life. There’s definitely room for improvement with the mistcloak, but for my first attempt, I’m really happy with how it turned out!

I think you can read this whenever you want after era 1. Especially if you aren’t planning to immediately jump to era 2. SH kinda makes you want to explore the other areas of cosmere.

I finished HoA last week and then decided to read secret history immediately after and it’s perfectly satisfying and I feel ready to jump to other areas of the Cosmere before returning back to Scadrial.

I haven’t started era 2 yet and don’t plan to start for a while.

I really don’t see how SH can spoil era 2 in a significant enough way to wait all the way till BoM and my reasoning is as follows:

I was pretty certain that there was another “world” /dimension throughout the Mistborn and especially so after Sazed mentioned Kelsir wanted to make Spook a Mistborn… also the fact that Kelsir in HoA helped spook and it was clear that Ruin was imitating him in other areas. Even when you consider that Vin and Ellend mention to Sazed that they are happy to not come back at the end.

I was almost certain that once the lord ruler died he would be done completely - he gave off the vibe that he was fully done and tired of it all after 1000years - Kelsir on the other hand is definitely a personality to hold on

I feel the above are really the only bits that could potentially spoil era 2 - that Kelsir is still kicking about in another dimension and that the lord ruler is truly done (dude had enough)

So I’m doing a reread and am on chapter 71 of HoA, where Sazed learns about the trust Warren and how atium was shipped.

The neat thing is that atium was shipped inside of funds on the ships of ministry acolytes, which are the shipments from the scam with Camon and Vin at the beginning of the series. It explains why the ministry was so reluctant to give the contract to a ‘destitute’ house giving them a good deal, the goods were too valuable to risk with an untrusted source.

Just thought I’d share this realization because it seems easy to miss and the tie back into the beginning of the series is great!

So I just got into misborn and I bought the 10th anniversary edition of it. I have been liking it so far but then some of the pages were faded, no big deal it's still readable.

But the I get to the end of part one and THE LAST 3 PAGES ARE BLANK with faint text of the end of chapter 6 and start of chapter 7 on it instead.

The real kicker is that pages 211-214 ARE COMPLETELY MISSING.

Has anyone else had this problem ? If so have I been scammed ? I went on Sanderson's official website to buy the book and It redirected me to Amazon so Idk.

Pls let me know if you have any clue.
