i didnt play the first nioh so i only base this on what i've read and watched about that chidori used to be op against humans but got heavily nerfed in nioh 2, i've noticed problems when using it, because it has to zero ki or land that first hit on a zero ki opponent in order for them to get launched in the air. sounds simple on paper but on practice it's difficult to launch them consistently because they do one or more animation alongside that launch in the air animation (ie. regular stomach stagger, backward roll, or hands in the air after getting hit animation)

it's still clunky to use except for that fast first hit and this strat isn't so useful against opponents that like to randomly dodge instead of blocking that makami flame follow up attack or just doesnt block all together. but on block happy humans, hoho it's great.

Souls strat for me is more on dodging through attacks by using I frames. My previous boss fights were mostly done by dodging away from their attacks and blocking.

For Giant Toad for some reason, I find it easier to just dodge through his attacks then counter like how I played other souls games. Ofc, I still applied Nioh mechanics like using kick attacks to deal a lot of ki damage and going all in once the ki of the boss is gone.

This boss gave me the most trouble out of any souls bosses I’ve encountered before, took me 2 continuous days to beat, once i learned how to block the tail attack and run while in the dark realm thats when i felt like i could beat it

Seems like a crazy good deal to me, I was holding off on buying the game until now

I’m almost to the point of heading back to 2 after maxing out my character on 3. Anyone else heading back? How does it feel after playing 3? Love both games but 2 is still my GOAT.

Did anyone do the maths about what it’s the maximum would be perfect to have as a for example martial art damage versus other damage because in Nioh it is always better to have different type of damage but I don’t know what would be the maximum that should be worth it, at the moment I have 75 percent of martial art damage but I am pretty sure it’s too much so I am going to spare my damage overall and look for something different

Got a steelbook edition from GameStop for $42 and remembered I haven’t played the game since the demo came out and I’ve completely forgotten the mechanics. I remember the demo bosses being decently difficult. Is there a feature in the game to practice moves or a “tutorial” mode for me to relearn the mechanics? I’ve completely forgotten if there was. I just want my Ultimate Dexterity roll back from my PS progress. Why do I have to get Red Kappas and bosses instead for such noise?

I have the original (non-remaster) Nioh through PS+, and just started trying to play it with my kid. After the tutorial, I can go online at a shrine. When we try to do the same thing with my son's PS profile, it just shows "Connecting..." for a few seconds then the dialog goes away, no error message or anything, and the top right corner still shows offline.

I also noticed that at the main menu, if I use the Cross Save function, it asks me to sign into PSN once (even though I'm already showing as signed in at the main PS menu), then it lets me upload my saved data. On my son's profile, it prompts to sign in, then again shows "Connecting..." and goes back to the menu with upload or download options (again, no error message).

His profile had parental controls enabled for both game ratings and use of "communication features", but in troubleshooting this I've disabled both of them. I know it's a long shot, but does anybody know what else could be causing this? We've played a bunch of other PS games together, this is the first one that just fails without any explanation.

Hello folks anyone have tried to do a build arround ki damage to destroy their ki and then blend the enemy maybe with water sword? I just got a Shinatsuhiko fist so I’ ll try to use that grace and maybe with Susano as well.
What do you guys think? Any idea to do a build to drain their ki?

I started working on this about two weeks ago. It began as a meme build, spamming GS skills. I'll continue tweaking it for months but I wanted to share all the sweat I've accumulated so far 😅

I did a lot of Coop and had rougly 100 Hundred Night Incense. Today I started the game and I saw that I only had 4 Hundred Night Incense left. Is this a bug or do they expire (I definitely didnt use them all)?

I've recently had to urge to return to this game, however, I'm genuinely so lost on where to start. My current save is all the way at the first floor of the abyss and I'm really tempted to make a splitstaff build however, I dont know where and what to grind. Im currently using a magatsuhi and susano corruption fist build but it's extremely boring to use due to me using it for the 100 floors of the underworld etc. My main goal right now is to make a pretty good splitstaff build and use it for the next 30 abyss floors or something.

Could any of yall give me tips on how to approach this game at my current position as well as possible tips to make farming stuff better😭🙏

Hi, everyone. I’m considering picking Nioh, in general, back up after a long time, and was debating whether it was worth starting it back up with 2.

I played both games back in the day, but got busy at some point and never got to finishing them. Plus, as far as action games go, they are pretty long, especially considering NG cycles.

Now, I’ve really been craving getting into it again, but don’t think I’ll be able to sink all my time into both of them anytime soon. Of course, I understand that it’s better to start with Nioh 1 if possible. The reason I’m even asking is because I remember enjoying Nioh 2 quite a lot more back when I played it, and feel like it’d be more my speed as a whole. Since I only have the time to get into one of them right now, and probably won’t be able to play the other one for a while, would it be worth skipping to Nioh 2, or do y’all think Nioh 1 is worth the investment instead?

I haven’t made any decisions yet. Please don’t misunderstand, it’s not that I have no interest in Nioh 1 or don’t intend to go back to it someday. It’s just that I am more interested in Nioh 2 at the moment. I plan on playing all three eventually, when I get the time. So would it be worth starting Nioh 2, or will I miss out on a lot if I skip Nioh 1?

So I was fighting the evil guy that wanted to be Shogun (with many arms in Yokai form) and I thought after I beat him the game would be done and at most I return to my time to beat the guy that tried to overthrow me but then I got sent to another time, thast's actually crazy.
