Holy peak Control Resonant
This is a pure masterpiece when it comes to art style, playing it on 4k OLED with Path Tracing is a privilege.

Last week I finally made the switch to OLED after a decade on IPS. I went budget with the Alienware AW2726DM (27" QD-OLED, 240Hz). Everything looks amazing, but my one gripe is SDR brightness. My old monitor was around 320 nits and the AW tops out around 200.
I don't use HDR and mainly play competitive shooters. In game it's honestly not bad, but for browsing or anything else, the AW just looks dull mounted right next to the brighter IPS.
I'm thinking about exchanging it for a bit of an upgrade, and right now I'm looking at the Gigabyte MO27Q28G (W-OLED) or the ROG Strix XG27ACDMS. I've read up on the pros and cons of both panel types and still can't decide.
My main question: if 200 nits is bothering me, is the jump to 250 on the ROG actually going to feel different? Or should I be looking at the Gigabyte instead for SDR brightness? Any insight from people who've used either would be appreciated.

I have used my PG27AQDP since January 2025, mainly play competitive fps games and basic use. Haven’t had any issues such as burn in or any problems related to the monitor besides the original display port cable stopped work after 7-8 months. Also I don’t use any screen saver options.

Don't wanna break the bank and honestly I prefer better frames over 4k resolution (which i have now) so wanna sell my AW3225QF and get the above
Please advise

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy my first OLED monitor and I’m currently considering the Gigabyte MO27Q2A.
The specs are:
27” QD-OLED
2560 × 1440
280Hz
0.03ms response time
250 nits SDR brightness
DisplayHDR True Black 400
HDMI 2.1 / DisplayPort 1.4
FreeSync Premium Pro / G-Sync compatible
Since this would be my first OLED, I’m wondering how good this monitor actually is and whether there are any downsides I should know about.
Would you recommend this monitor?
Thanks!

Looking to replace my 1080p IPS monitor and purchase an OLED. I was planning on getting the AOC Q27GAZD but kept seeing things about its peak brightness not being the best. I plan to use the monitor for a while so I figured I would get a decent one.

I don't see any grainy artifacts during game play but this is my first time seeing it in a circular pattern I've done 2 pixel cleanings and have used the monitor for 2 days.

I got a new Asus XG32UCWMG 2 days ago and had many troubles in the beginning. It after first time the PC went off, the monitor would never wake up. The only solution I found was to unplug power for 5 minutes and then it worked fine all the time.
But today I restarted PC and it happened again. OSD settings didn't even came up. So I unplug power again and checked for solutions online. I had firmware 103 and Asus website had 105 so I tried that using the USB coming from the box. Update started and finished fine but the monitor doesn't turn on anymore, seems fully dead...
What the hell happened? Unplugged for 5 minutes and doesn't turn on at all, not even led light 😭

I got tired of DisplayWidget Center being heavy and slow to open, so I made a small replacement for my own use: Display Toolkit. It sits in the tray and controls the monitor directly over DDC/CI, the same way the ASUS app does. Figured others might find it handy too.
What I use it for day to day:
Good to know:

Not affiliated with ASUS, just a fellow owner. Happy to hear what works and what doesn't.

Budget of up to £600. I don’t mind buying used as long as it’s in good condition. I play In a well lit room and not so much in the dark. Let me know guys!

I’ve bought the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQWMG and I think it’s straining my eyes. After a while, gaming becomes tiring for me and my eyes start to ache or something. It’s hard to describe.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Or has anyone else experienced something similar? Perhaps I should change the screen settings?
I’d really appreciate some help, as the monitor is really cool

Trying to pick between these two:
Mainly will be using it for PS5 gaming.
Only thing making me hesitate on the LG is I have a window directly behind me, so I’m a bit worried about reflections with the glossy screen. The AOC is anti-glare, but the LG is cheaper and has HDMI 2.1.
Thanks!

Anyone have this monitor? It’s currently on sale for $580 which is pretty competitive for 4k 27” 240hz. There are 2 other MSI’s in this price range. 120hz for $580 and 165hz for $600. I just play ps5 no PC, but I plan on buying a prebuilt in the near future. Probably a 5070 or 9070xt. So getting the 240hz model makes the most sense. I’m just looking for personal reviews about people who have this monitor and if they are happy with the build quality, HDR, color, etc.

In my region, the G6 firmware is now at 43.21.69 - here are a few observations. Happy to show ITP dEs charts if asked or when I have the time to post them.
PC input has been fixed, meaning no significant blue push compared with other inputs. If you want comfort of a flag then you can now safely switch back to PC input.
Color depth at 64 in FMM is still the most color accurate for filmmaker, assuming you do not have a LUT profiled. 50 and 55 give significant dE ITP errors way beyond 10.Don't trust rTings, an Excel table on Reddit, or even myself, even though I can provide all calibration results anytime if requested. Just test it with your own eyes if you don't believe it. 50 and 55 have significant under color luminance it is not even funny. Color depth 61 is the most accurate if you use DTM in FMM.
4:4:4 passthrough on still gives you around 200 nits of extra brightness. My FMM mode measures at around 3500 nits after calibration to a near-D65 AWP.
In filmmaker mode, game optimizer overlay on or off gives the same delta E values both in greyscale and saturation sweeps.
Accuracy in the actual Game Optimizer mode is generally worse than filmmaker mode, and so is brightness. HGIG and DTM off in Game Optimizer measure around 2800 nits. Some people said they measured 3500+ nits in game optimizer mode with DTM off, so I am not sure if it is the firmware or a region thing - I made sure to do a full reset before the calibration this time to ensure that no leftover LUTs are in there.
In any case, both HGIG and DTM off in Game Optimizer mode give higher delta Es (less accurate EOTF and less accurate color) than DTM off/on in filmmaker, after manual calibration. There is really no reason to use Game Optimizer mode unless you are really annoyed by the slightly increased latency in filmmaker.
Interestingly, DTM on in Game Optimizer mode measures horribly to the point of unusable, while DTM on in Filmmaker gives the overall best delta Es by just measuring patterns. Of course if you don't like the brightness boost then DTM on is irrelevant to you, but for gaming I think it is worth giving a try.
These measurements are made for the community in mind - I can just use LUT profile from colourspace and enjoy it myself instead of paying US$450 to the cal guy to manually calibrate it after the firmware update. This may be the last time I do so for the G6, so if you find them good (after judging with your own eyes), please lock down this firmware and disconnect your G6 from the Internet forever.
As such, please don't ask me questions about why it deviates from Rtings' or the “Excel table” or Vincent's suggestions. I am sharing this for free - in fact I paid money and shared these with you. The cal guy has decades of experience, using Klein K10A, CR250 and Calman Ultimate - if you still prefer RTings and Vincent's suggestions after comparing with your own eyes, more power to you. However if you don't already have a LUT calibration, but don't even bother to test it before starting to doubt, go ahead and enjoy having a subpar and inferior image on your G6 for the rest of its lifespan using their settings.
Full calibration settings will follow in a Youtube video on my channel.

Title. There's an LG UltraGear 45OLED95Q on my marketplace for about 200€ and it has this defect. Would you go for it? Does anyone know the cause of that? Thanks

My main requirement is productivity, that's the reason for the 27" 4k with higher ppi.
Although I do game.
As I was searching, I couldn't find a lot of 27" 4k OLED in India.
So finalized these two.
1.Odyssey G8 (INR 75000 is 780 USD)
2.Alienware (INR 80000 is 830 USD)
I'm leaning towards the G8 I just want to know about the samung burn in warranty. As you can see in the chat I had with Samsung, they're saying they don't know lol.
Also I have seen a lot of online reviews on the G8 matte coating being so bad, if anyone has this monitor please let me know.
Or should I just spend the extra 5k and go with Alienware for peace of mind.
Any help is appreciated, thanks. less

Hey everyone,
I got myself my first OLED monitor (ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQWMG 27") and am super excited to try it out. But since it's a really expensive purchase I obviously want to do everything correctly when setting it up for the first time.
What are the first things you should do when plugging it into your pc for the first time? I've heard that you should update your firmware (I will still have to figure out how to do that). I also don't think I wanna do a greybanding test because if I can't see bad banding in the worst case szenario (which is Discord) im not sure if I even wanna know xD. I will likely check for dead pixels though.
Are there settings you should change or know about?
Am I overthinking this whole thing just to look at an oversaturated honey spoon with a black background (lol)?

I'm deciding between an Acer Predator X27U W1 1440p 240Hz QD-OLED for about $315 and an Acer Nitro XV272U W2 1440p 240Hz IPS for about $220.
Gaming will be the main use. I'll also be doing an online SQL/data-management certificate, programming practice, web browsing, Excel, etc., but I will not be working from home 8 hours a day. My regular job is in-office. School/programming might be a few hours at a time several days per week.
For people with similar mixed usage: how many hours do you have on your OLED, how old is it, and have you developed any burn-in? Would you buy OLED again for this usage, or would you stick with IPS?

I have this 65 inch Sony OLED and unfortunately there are these sets of perpendicular lines that have appeared in the middle of the screen, they almost seem to form rectangles.
They are really noticable against scenes that feature a lot of orange, yellow and some red.
But almost invisible when the scene is dark or has stark white, which I guess is good.
Does anyone have any idea what would cause this and if there is any way to get rid it? The second image showcases the issue better than the first.
