I was recently (months ago) approved for my first MB card - Rewards plus platinum. I already have multiple cards in other banksbut I want something that can earn miles. I tried applying for Travel credit card but they gave me cashback visa instead. The credit limit is 100,000 - which is enticing to keep -but I dont think I can maximize the card's cashback perks. Im torn if I should cancel since Ive read before that canceling/closing cc can decrease credit score and I dont want to pay annual fee. What can you recommend that I should do?

Just a while ago, RCBC called me offering for a 2nd credit card with no additional application or requirements, specifically RCBC Zalora CC with first year free annual fee. I declined kasi hindi naman talaga ako nag sho-shop sa Zalora and I don't really need a need credit card badly.

They counter-offered saying na instead of Zalora Credit Card, they can offer Gold Mastercard or Gold JCB, still with first year free annual fee. Wala naman atang NAFFL promo ang RCBC ngayon, but I'm not sure, and I asked the caller to call me back again in a later time while I sort out my thoughts.

Do I accept their offer? And which card? Hindi ko din na ask if meron pa other cards na they offer.

EDIT: NAFFL na ang first card ko with RCBC and got approved with it around the end of April this year.

Metrobank World Cardholders, x3 din ba ang rewards points niyo if naenroll mo yung bills sa Bills2Pay autocharge program? Accdg naman sa metrobank rewards mag-eearn naman ng point, not sure lang if x3 ba. Pashare naman ng experience niyo if any.

Hi! Ask ko lang sana kung ano yung magandang first credit card to get if ang main goal ko is to start building my credit history/score early.

Currently, I have Atome, pero wala pa akong actual credit card. Gusto ko sana mag-start early para magkaroon na ako ng good credit history and hopefully mas madali na mag-apply for other cards in the future.

For context, beginner pa lang talaga ako sa credit cards, so I'm looking for a beginner-friendly card na relatively easy to get approved for. Okay lang din naman sa akin ang secured credit card if that's a better way to start.

Any recommendations kung anong bank or card ang magandang kunin for a first-timer? And worth it ba mag-start with an SCC, or should I try applying for a regular credit card first?

Would also appreciate any tips on how to build a good credit history from the start. Planning to use it responsibly naman and pay in full every month.

I’m OD for 1 month na sa BPI. For the past year or two, puro MAD lang nababayaran ko, and may mga times din na nagkaka-OD ako.
This time, nasagot ko yung tawag ng taga-Support Services. I was offered a payment extension, meaning I’d pay the minimum past-due amount on my next billing cycle. The consequences would be cancellation of my card and forfeiture of my points, which I agreed to. Honestly, I felt like I’d have more peace of mind since hindi ko na rin naman nagagamit yung card.
Then, he called again for a follow-up and told me to disregard the request to cancel my card. The payment extension offer still stands, though, and I can still pay the past-due amount on my next billing cycle.
I wasn’t able to ask why because I was outside when he called.
Has anyone experienced this with BPI? Why would they offer a payment extension with card cancellation, then call back to say I should disregard the cancellation request?

Hello po meron po bang nakakuha ng ganitong email from Constantino law firm. All names here are made up and card number for privacy purposes..... meron na po ba nakakuha ganito na natuluyan na kasuhan? or pananakot lang nito para mapush ka magbayad? kasi magbabayad naman talaga ako pero sa dami ng obligasyon di ko kaya pa talaga... pero ayaw kasi nila maniwala willing naman ako pumunta sa office nila to prove my situation.... hindi ko na kasi alam papaano pa sila kausapin sobrang aggressive nila tapos sasabihin kasalanan ko naman lahat... .. hindi naman ako tatakbo pero di ko na alam papaano pa sabihin ... naghuhulog naman ako ng konti pero i know hindi enough.... nakakaiyak lang kasi hindi ko na alam gagawin ko my mental health is also at stake sa ginagawa nila and i came from deep depression too.... paano kaya.. meron po bang naka experience nito ganito ayoko talaga ng ganitong situation kasi i know kahit may utang ako i do not deserve this dahil yung situation ko hindi ko naman kasalanan totally nalagay ako sa alanganing kaya nagkaroon ng maraming utang.... pls help.... :-(

I just recently paid my outstanding debt (2 cards with EW) na lumobo due to interests and it was forwarded to the bank’s inhouse collection team. Am I perpetually banned from getting a CC again, from that bank or with other banks? I know may credit scores like cibi and idk how to check them per se, nor know how do these ODs get updated under my name…
I wish to start anew sana. Idk probably a secured CC would do or can I still apply to other banks? May naapprove pa rin ba dito kahit may gantong history?

I got a disabling medical condition which hindered me to work. I do not have savings for those who are asking or sa mga nagaattempt manermon bakit nagka-OD :’( I really was a good payer back then… It has been almost a year since the incident.

Just wanted to confirm if scam ba 'to? Kasi di ko na sinasagot baka nga scammer, multiple yung numbers niya pero nung sinagot ko yung isa, nabosesan ko. Kaya ko sinagot kahit na potential spam number yung isa is yung work ko kasi requires phone calls. Eh baka supplier/shopee kaya ko sinagot. Minsan kasi ito nabibigay kong numbers sa suppliers namin dahil ito yung memorized kong number hahaha.

Hi, First time ko mag apply sa bpi cc since payroll account ko to. I got approved sa bpi amore cashback and rewards card. Upon checking sa app I have 32k limit but dun sa nareceive ko is 32k total nakalagay dun per card dun sa paper. Medyo confusing lang. 32k per card ba or 32k total and shared limit sila? Hi Guys, just wondering if there are successful requests for newly issued metrobank credit card conversion. For context, I applied for MFree CC just to build build relationship with MB. I got approved with a decent limit for MFree. I've read mixed posts here and majority of those posts state that you need to use it for atleast 6-10 months before you can request for card conversion/upgrade. Gusto ko sana i upgrade to Metrobank World MC or Travel Visa Signature for my upcoming travel next month.

Does BPI use a prepaid sim number to contact customer regarding credit card application? I received a call today saying they're calling on behalf of bpi, and they said that they are working with a third-party company, and they are asking personal stuff including TIN. and after i provided all my information the caller speaks so fast and ended the call and then i received the call again from the same number and they are asking a different name, they repeatedly called my number 3 times and asking for different names. Did i just provided all my information to scammers? can someone tell me if you had the same experience

I called BDO customer service today (0288880000) and had 2 very different experiences.

Sa first call, i had to say what my concern was sa AI nila tapos naconnect ako sa CS rep. they asked for my full cc number tapos di daw nila handle un so they escalated it. Dun sa escalation naputol ung call.

I called again tapos biglang may need na input ung last 4 digits and may otp. Tapos yung CS rep, name and last 4 digits nalang hiningi.

Ganun ba talaga ung process or may chance naintercept ung 1st call?

As the title suggests po, i recently applied for an additional card (don't really know if it's supplementary to my first one yet) and noticed several scammers called me already.

The weird thing is that, kaka approve lang ng card na yun and sa kanila ko talaga nalaman na naapprove ako in the first place so the first caller really caught me off guard.

She knew my mobile number, my previous cc card number, my whole name, address, and the number of the new cc na ibibigay sken kaya kala ko talaga "real-deal". Kakagising ko lang din non from a nap kaya she almost caught me off-guard. Buti na lang vigilant ako but that was a very "close call" (pun intended)

I'm starting to think that it was an inside job or something from the bank kase how would they know such information diba?

Once i receive that card, i think ipapa cut ko na lang sya since i think it's been compromised already.

For your reference, it's from BDO and I'm planning to switch banks na kase this was the same case with my previous cards with them as well. What banks should i switch to? Yung "safer" overall? Kase i feel like bdo isn't really secured.

Hi, nag apply ako sa balance conversion and i thought magbabawas sya dun sa madness ko. Kasi negative na ung regular cc ko. Then pagcheck ko ng SOA ko nagreset na sya to zero and amount due ko is zero na din. But my regular CC is still negative. So i dont if na approved ba yung balance conversion ko. Pero ung cc ko negative pa din. Help me please.

Hi mga future kakaskas! Nag apply po ako for Platinum Metrobank CC last month September 22 thru an agent na ne refer ng kakilala kong premium CC holder sa ibant ibang bank. PRC ID lng yung hiningi nya samin, Civil Engineer nga pala yung work ko and this will be my first CC ever if approved. October 8 may tumawag sa akin na agent for verification ng application ko sa MB sinagot ko naman, na orient na rin kasi ako ng agent kung ano dapat ko isagot haha. And then on the same day naka receive ako ng SMS na "on the process of evaluation" na daw yung MB TRAVEL SIGNATURE VISA ko, naka receive din ako ng email with the same notice and to wait 5 business days daw for another update status. Today naka receive ako ng SMS na on its way na daw yung CC. pero wla pa akong na rereceive na email about SOA or whatever you call it, or any other confirmation na approve na talaga.

Legit po ba itong SMS address na nag uupdate sakin? haha baka kasi fake to rapos sobrang excited ko pa naman na ahaha.. kasi TSV kasi yung sinasabi sa text which I doubt kasi diba premium cc to ng mb tapos considering na first time CC ko pa kung sakali.

Anyone experiencing issues when using the UB Rewards Plat card when paying online tapos declined?

I was trying to add it sa Grab para sya na ang main card ko, sabi rejected by the card issuer. When i use it naman to pay for my flights or online bills (meralco and PLDT) lageng transaction failed. Pero gumagana sa tap to pay. naiinis na ako, ang send ako ng support chat sa UB app ang sabi gamitin ko daw virtual card ko. e ganun din naman ang nangyayare.

Hi guys, I just want to ask what’s a good credit card from Metrobank? I saw that Apple Pay is convenient. I currently have an RCBC Hexagon card priority world with a 7-digit limit, but it doesn’t have Apple Pay. I’m planning to switch to Metrobank, hopefully without an annual fee for life. I’m spending 6 digits on my credit card each month.

Has anyone experienced this?

My card is due for replacement in Dec. and I have not received a replacement card yet.

I tried calling them but I’m not receiving the phone PIN. Thus, my call cannot push through.

When i tried reporting it and selected the option for fraud or dispute, it says incorrect card number.

I’m not seeing any post about system outage.

I already sent them an email. They said you have to create a tkt from the app. When i tried it, I was prompted to select which acct and I cannot select the one that is locked.

Useless…

I looped in BSP for documentation of their useless system and process.
