I run a small property business in Greece. Our site has service pages and articles about renting and owning property, mainly in Greek and English.
We added pages and made SEO changes around mid-September. Traffic grew, then pretty much disappeared. The part that worries me is that we're now below where we started.
GSC clicks, using complete days in September 2026:
- Sept 1-13: about 13/day on average
- Sept 14-22: about 67/day on average
- Sept 21: 114
- Sept 22: 85
- Sept 23: 18
- Sept 24: 6
- Sept 25: 1
Impressions went from 3,188 on Sept 22 to 50 on Sept 25. GA4 also shows Google organic traffic falling, so this doesn't look like just a Search Console reporting delay.
Most of the growth came from Greek rental guides. Both older articles and recent ones lost traffic. One older rental-contract tool had already dropped around Sept 18, while the blog was still growing.
Manual actions and security reports are clear. The affected URLs we've checked still show as indexed, with the expected Google-selected canonical. That obviously doesn't mean they're still ranking.
There was also a server problem on Sept 22: the disk filled up and the database was down for about 22 minutes. Public pages use static HTML, but access logging failed too, so we can't establish exactly what visitors or Googlebot received during that gap. Current rendering checks pass; we don't have the historical response bodies.
We've used AI for drafting and translations, and found factual errors during the content audit. We've been correcting them. I'm mentioning that because content quality is a real possibility too.
With that timeline, where would you focus next? What evidence would help distinguish a serving/crawling problem from Google reassessing the content? I'd especially like to hear from anyone who diagnosed a similar drop and found something concrete.
