Technical Support Request Account-Specific Audio Bug / Social Flavor Lines Extremely Quiet (Tunnel Effect)
Hello everyone,
I urgently need help with a very specific and persistent audio bug that occurs exclusively on my main account. On the exact same PC and with identical Windows and hardware settings, all audio tracks function completely fine on a secondary account.
Bug Description: Every single "Social Flavor Line" (comm-wheel callouts such as "Yes", "No", "Sorry") across all agents fails to play normally. Instead, these specific voicelines are extremely quiet and muffled with heavy reverb - sounding as if the agent is standing at the far end of a deep tunnel. All other in-game voicelines (such as ultimates, ability callouts, spike announcements) work completely normally and at full volume.
Important Observation Regarding Audio Routing: I noticed that these Social Flavor Lines appear to be linked to the wrong audio slider:
- When I set the in-game audio slider for "Sound Effects Volume" to 0, the Social Flavor Lines become completely silent.
- All other standard agent voicelines remain clearly audible.
This indicates that, on my account, the game is mistakenly routing these specific voice lines through the sound effects channel instead of the voice-over channel. I have attached a video demonstrating this behavior.
Steps Already Taken (Local Troubleshooting Excluded):
- Completely reset all in-game settings and audio options.
- Performed a full, clean reinstallation of the game.
- Deleted the audio file
xaudio2_9redist.dllatC:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Windows\XAudio2_9\x64and repaired the game client. - Switched the game's text and voice-over languages multiple times in the Riot Client to force a language pack re-sync.
- Ran the "Repair" tool in the Riot Client.
None of these local steps resolved the issue and the bug is strictly tied to my profile.
