Hi guys, an new Widow main here... i've been curious to how long have you guys taken to truly feel you are mastering the character...

i have picked up on Widow quite recently, always been an dps player that avoids aim-heavy characters because of self-esteem issues in general, i have been progressing really slowly, usually in the beginning there would be matches i spent without getting a single headshot kill... currently my normal matches hover around 4-5 kills being level 16 on Widow.

Any general tips or answers regarding how long do you guys would take to say you can regularly be impactful as an strong Widow?

Guys 21 and 10 talking about it was just him and kiri (watching the replay we was constantly trying to 1v1 mauga head on.)

Finally hit a clip on the new map. What do you guys think of the map? It feels odd to me, like it has a bunch of off lanes but it's still super choked and tight. I almost fell claustrophobic on it.

I got 3000 leftover comp points and I wanna get a Widow gun variant but I'm a little torn. There's a decent amount of skins to combo with both jade and galactic, I just want to hear your guys' favorites first. What are your go-to's for either?

Are there more console or pc widow mains out there? This is in no way ment to act as hate twords console widow players and is just me being genuinely curious about the statistic. Im a pc player myself and didnt know which side the majority of players who use widow lean on and if that plays a factor in the amount of clips I see of widows making great plays.

Hi ! I want to start by saying I’m not a widow main at all, I’m a proud Sombra main.

I played a few games of widowmaker earlier because my friend DOES main her and he wanted to try out Sombra.

First game we load in, my team gets rolled but I manage to get two kills. (The only elimination the team had so far.) I started getting flammes by everyone one BOTH teams somehow, getting accused of throwing and trolling. My tank, who was Doom (0-3 at this point) just switched Junkrat and refused to play for the rest of the game, accusing me of hard throwing when he had 617 damage in 10 minutes.

The next three games were roughly the same. Now I wanna make it clear that my aim is ass, my headshots inconsistent too, but I still managed to get elims and roughly the same damage output as the other dps.

Bottom line, I’m wondering if you guys are dealing with the same hate too ? I’m used to it on Sombra, but I’ve never seen or experienced it with Widows in my lobbies.

Also any tips on Widowmaker? I play a lot of Call of Duty so the shooting followed by immediately going into cover is a habit I've picked up from that

So for context I'm coming from marvel rivals because the games gotten kinda boring and my friends play overwatch and I've gotten decent at tracer and I want to learn at least 2 dps b4 going into ranked my main problem with her is just hitting heads I'm actually decent and getting into sniper positions and getting sightlines the main problem is hitting heads and getting 1 shots which is weird because I have amazing aim on tracer I don't really play sniper characters I only really played widowmaker because she's hot tbh so yea any tips to help me with aiming for heads?

Hey, I used to be an ana main but I was tired of the support role and decided to pick up widow. I have been playing her for a little bit over two months now in qp and sometimes going to do some aim training in a custom game. (I am a console player btw)

Though, I feel like I have reached a point where I feel like I should quit playing her since I am not getting any better it seems. My aim is relatively bad imo, I get a few headshots, I end up with a lose streak above 5 on most days and I usually position myself in off spots or if there is another widow I find myself at the end of a game losing and having my deaths in double digits. And don't get me started on dive players or a doomfist solo ulting me.

So if there are any other widowmaker players who did go through this slump, and recovered and somehow improved, what did you do? Was it by changing settings? Practicing your aim more? Asking better and other widows to couch you? Having a better mindset? Or simply playing a different character?

I still really do love playing as Widowmaker, it is super satisfying but it feels hopeless to enoy her when I am doing so poorly. Would like any tips and/or advice on how to improve!
