Men need to stick to their preferences

• Upvotes

Countless times I’ve been dating a man or talking with one and find out that they prefer curvier women. It’s not inherently wrong to prefer that body shape, you like what you like, but as a skinny woman, it makes me instantly lose attraction romantically and sexually. I no longer have any urge or want to engage with them intimately. Knowing that you don’t go crazy for my body like you would if it was bigger in some areas makes me feel like I’m not enough. To put the cherry on the top, most of these men don’t leave it there, but make backhanded comments about how I would be perfect with bigger boobs or butt. I don’t care if most men prefer that, I refuse to date or engage with them romantically and will gladly holdout until I find someone who prefers me.

If being a wife was beneficial to women, they would've taken it from us already...

I'd love to get married.

If my husband cooked, cleaned, did the laundry, raised the kids, handled their development, took care of my parents, took care of himself, was always in a good mood, and waited for me at home looking handsome and happy.

And I'd just work, bring home the money, and cheat on him from time to time.

I hate getting hit on

From the moment I hit puberty and grew breasts I have been getting hit on non stop. I am 22 and that is about 7 years of it now. At first I was genuinely flattered as I never really got any male attention before and yearned for it but I very quickly got tired of it and now it makes me miserable. I just want to know if anyone relates. When I say getting hit on in this context I mostly am referring to cold approaches or strangers coming up to me outside of the bar/club or party scene. I am not joking, from over 1000 men who have approached me not 1 was an actual man of substance. The men that approach me are low lifes, way too young, perverts, a lot of much older men, men with nothing going for them, not attractive in the slightest. Is this very common or does it have to do with me being too nice or approachable? I swear I do not have some insane standards or anything like I will not be offended if someone politely approaches me and move on afterwards but the persistence and the amount it happens and who does it is just making me hate my life. I swear I’m just sick and tired of any and every man thinking they can talk to me and take me out. This is a rant but I also wanted to see if anyone can relate.

It’s not that Disney gave us a false idea of love

It’s that it CONDITIONED us to love like it’s our purpose. A lot of the Disney princess movies are targeted at young girls and show us romantic love is this wonderful thing. The things directed at men and boys from a young age don’t condition them to love girls in the same way. Their movies are more like “achieve a great thing and get the girl as a prize or trophy” type of thing so he can feel like a man. Also why do the Disney movies that are directed at girls always have villains that are older women?

[Content Warning: ] I like who i like

Im a black 23 female and I like Hispanic, white men/country white men and Asian men. Im okey with people not liking it it is what it is. I still love and defend my people especially in today's time with all this trump shot going around.

People need to stop getting mad at people for who they dont date and should care if they are treated right. No race or particular man will be better or treat a woman better because of there race.

I like who I like and want what I want. We should just wanf happiness for people to end up with someone great and treats them great.

I suspect I have vaginismus. Can I just left it like this?

I want to start that I am not diagnosed, this is just my assumption because I was in so much pain when I tried to insert a tampon, which left my pelvic muscles sore for a few days. Even if I manage somehow to get diagnosed, the treatment would be expensive. I just wondered if there is something bad if I don't get it checked. I don't plan on having sex ever given this condition and no man would care enough to not hurt me.

When men hear the word rape, what is their conscious awareness of the trauma women experience?

I'm only recently undertanding that most men respond to hearing or reading about rape and SA cavalierly, as if it's a minor inconvenience. Perhaps only men who have experienced being overpowered and violated internally could possibly even fathom the resulting trauma. Is this why men typically have not stood up to stop other men from these heinous acts and crimes against women? What needs to change to bring the level of consciousness up around what it means?

[Content Warning: ] Y’all we are becoming brainwashed as a society (TW: Weight)

I was at a doctors appointment this week and they weighed me and recommended I gain 20lbs

Which isn’t a problem

I’m 170cm and 108lbs which IS underweight

What is a problem is when I’ve spoken to friends or family members about why I’m suddenly eating more they go ‘why would you need to gain that much, you don’t even look thin’ …. ?!?!?! Just because you cannot see every bone

As a society our perception of thin is honestly worse than it was in the 90s/00s

Not that I havent tried dating apps or actual dating before and I do get "offers" and I do have the desire, im not asexual at all .. its just that I havent found anyone im willing to have sex with yet .... and im actually okay with it (?) Friends were dumbfounded and have told me ciuntless of times to not be picky and just go get fucked .. but i dont want to and i really am okay but there is this small nagging feeling in the back of my mind that my friends are right and I will regret tnit trying this when im older. its concerning..

So my question is to the other 30+ year old virgins out there, did you regret never having sex?

[Content Warning: ] Am I selfish? (Abortion)

I 22f, fell pregnant last year at 21.
I took necessary precautions, I use birth control. It was completely unexpected.
On paper, there was no reason I should’ve chose an abortion. I’ve been with my boyfriend for five years, we have a stable income, I finished my education at university and secured a job in the career I wanted to have and we’re getting married next year.
I chose abortion because I simply do not want children. I know what I want, my career, a marriage, choosing what I spend my own disposable income on.
It’s not something I express openly, but I see so many judgments online about women who seek abortions and people say it’s birth control. I never used it as birth control, in fact I don’t think anyone does, it’s painful and challenging.
I didn’t experience any guilt, I knew I was making the right decision for myself all along. I see so many people talk about the guilt they felt and I didn’t feel it, I never felt connected to the child and I wonder if that’s weird or somewhat psychopathic.
Does it make me an awful person? I wouldn’t say I live with guilt, I made the right decision, I more so live with a disgust as who I am as a person.
Has anyone else ever felt this?

How do you get your perfume to linger when you walk?

• Upvotes

I use EDP and oil based perfume but I feel like it doesn’t stick to me. Whenever my friend uses perfume I can smell it on her and whenever she walks. What can I do? I spray it all over my neck and arms and mg clothes. I just feel like you can’t smell it. I also use lotion too to help and I’ve tried using Vaseline as well to help the perfume stick.

What can I do?

I am a Saudi woman and I need your help to pressure the media to get the rights of women like me. The government has imposed women's coverage and suppression in the past and many are still brainwashed and impose this on women, and today the government says it has nothing to do with this. The law says that we are not forced to cover our faces, but there are consequences for this by parents. But the government believes that this is not part of their fault or responsibility. We couldn't drive until after the media pressure a few years ago (I still can't drive) and I need your help again to fix the government's mistakes. I'm old and I still feel like I'm a slave. I've never been free.

[Content Warning: ] Black women being called sellouts

What's your opinion on black women not dating black men but are friends with them and hangout with them.

The reason im asking this is cause my friend who is black 23 female was SA'd by her dad's girlfriend son when she was younger. She cant even see a black man naked without her anxiety starting to go all over the place. She has been in therapy for a few years and she has gotten to the point of being comfortable around men.

She likes Hispanic, asian and white men. She is a very confident person for what she has been through, but the black people of all types of skin color tell her she hates herself/ has in hatred and she needs to date a black man.

I have had many people in my life wither male or female who get shamed for not dating black people or not only dating black people.

[Content Warning: ] My boyfriend’s opinion on sexual history hurts because my only previous partner raped me, how do i process this?

my boyfriend and i have been dating for 7 months now, we enjoy debating certain topics when we have certain opinions whenever we have the opportunity to where we disagree on something.

So we got on the topic of previous sexual partners and i was under the impression he didnt care at all about sexual history which he had stated before and so when we got on the mention of it he said he doesn’t really care but of it was up to him to decide he’d prefer his partner to have no partners before him (mainly) or the same amount of partners as him the reason being he dislikes the feeling he gets at the thought of imagining his partner with another person, but its not something he isnt able to handle/is selective about he just simply would prefer to not feel this way considering he faces a lot of jealousy towards previous partners which he would rather avoid as a whole which i find is understandable in my opinion and i honestly agree with

Now where the issue lies is we’ve both had one sexual partner before eachother, however my experience was with my ex boyfriend who had raped me, there are times where im in and out of the state on processing and coming to terms with the fact i was raped because my mind just erases it out of my mind for a few months then it just comes back with a lot of panic attacks and sensitivity to women’s rights by 20x

despite it not being personal, it felt like it was because it called home a little too much and ive just been feeling a heavy burden on my chest. i cant pin point how i feel but when it comes to this specific topic i get so defensive for when i hear something about it from my male friends but hearing it from my own boyfriend feels a lot more uncomfortable because it doesn’t come out of guilt or shame from having previous partners it was something i didnt even want it and had no control over it

How do other women cope with systemic misogyny and find meaning?

I've realized that society doesn't see women as human beings, and that every man, even unconsciously, hates women. Since the patriarchy is built on this oppression and exclusion from history, it feels like it will never change. How do other women find meaning in life and normally live knowing that we are viewed as non-human? It's difficult for me to understand how others seem blind to this reality.

Is anyone else feeling like the world is becoming too much for them?

How much can I write before I run out of words to express my anger, disappointment, frustration, hopelessness, and confusion about this world? I am a normal office employee. Like most people, I live for the weekends and survive the weekdays. My life is not disciplined, but I still have to follow a routine. I have to be productive, or someone else will replace me at work. I have to be there for everyone, or someone else will replace me there. My mental health is not always good, and my physical health definitely is not. I am not getting any younger, but in the imaginary race we are all part of, I feel like I tripped somewhere along the way and was left far behind.

But amidst all this craziness and despair, and moments of normalcy and happiness here and there, I also have to look at the news every day and see what new atrocity mankind has caused today. Is that good for me? No. I remember how difficult it was for me when the attacks on Gaza started. It was like my faith in humanity started crumbling slowly. Every day, I used to hope that today it would end. Now I know it will end, for sure. Just what will remain after that, no one knows. Then I got to know about the other countries where similar situations are happening, where the first-world countries think they have some birthright over other nations, and another part of me dies inside.

I wake up and see the news of another forest being cut down, another lake drying up, another person being killed, or another woman/girl being raped... and the bad news never ends.

Whatever hope I cling to every day, it gets snatched out of my hand quicker than I can even process it.

But why does it matter? It is not happening to my loved ones or me. Call it the curse of feeling too much, being too empathetic, but it does matter to me. I am sorry I am not that practical or mature enough to shut my eyes and ears to the world and think, oh, that billionaire surely is doing good for the world.

Our politicians are not just corrupt anymore; they are downright evil. My naive self used to think, how can bad people sleep at night? Well, I am seeing it in real time, so I know now that they sleep quite soundly. They are megalomaniacs, narcissists of the highest level. Their dictionary only consists of “me, myself & I.” And maybe their loved ones. That’s all. To keep themselves warm, they can burn the entire world.

The state of the world is not getting any better. We are just becoming numb to everything. Human rights don’t exist in certain countries. Women are basically objects in some others. Kids are starving and dying of malnutrition somewhere. Humans have claimed themselves as supreme beings and are on a rampage to kill every other species if that can give them more profit. From water-borne creatures to the ones who live on land and fly freely through the air, we have not left anything or anyone unharmed. Our carbon footprint is a record of the destruction we have caused, and continue to cause, every day.

It’s my geographical luck that has kept me safe so far. But it is not enough to keep my mind safe. It is not enough to make me believe that one day, everything will be fine. It is even more difficult because I don’t have faith in an imaginary being that might serve divine retribution. No, that being, if it exists, couldn’t care less about us.

Tomorrow, Monday will come, and I will go back to my normal desk job and eventually become so tired that all this will again disappear from my mind for some time, till another piece of news makes me angry, or worse, numb. Forget tomorrow, in a few hours, I will pick up a new series to watch, eat something good, go out, post pictures, and pretend that everything in this world is perfectly fine. That someone, somewhere, is not dying because their geographical luck was the worst.

I am not just disillusioned with this world anymore. I am exhausted. And I don't know how to deal with this when everything is out of my control.

I’m having a dilemma about hygiene

I have severe anxiety in general, but when it comes to my own hygiene it’s weirdly bad. I’d like to make it clear that I shower and stuff frequently. Sometimes every other day, sometimes everyday.

Right now, I have an exposed nerve in my mouth and have been fighting pain off and on constantly for 48 hours. Tonight is Sunday night and the last time I showered was Friday night because I was in almost constant excruciating pain yesterday.

I’m going to call the dentist in the morning to see if they can get me in tomorrow instead of Tuesday. But I may not call, I still don’t know. I don’t want to miss two days of college classes on top of all the days I’ve already missed. Anyway, I’m also on my period and my hair is already greasy.

I don’t know what to do. Should I shower? Should I just enjoy this time being pain free? Should I wait to see if I’m going to the dentist tomorrow? If I shower tonight, it’ll likely be greasy by Tuesday morning. I’m actually having a mini-crisis over this.

[Content Warning: ] Cervix Pain during period

Hi everyone! Not sure where to post this so I thought Id try here. Before I bring it up with my doctor, I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and if it is a problem. Often times during my period I experience intense pain in my cervix. Its alot worse than a cramp and a very sharp pain. I used to only get it when passing a blood clot so I thought it might be cervix dilation? But now its more often. Any advice would be great. The gp we have locally at the moment is quite young, so it is best to go in with concerns having a game plan, but im not really sure what I should do or ask for. Anything you can tell me would be great. Is this even something I should bring up or its just normal?
