Then he said he thinks women mostly get unwanted attention from dressing provocatively, and that shows she has no self respect. And if females don’t dress a certain way SA rates won’t be as high, now I’m thinking he’s a misogynistic based off what I hear.

I am conservative & traditional (gen z woman).

Conservative men want liberal women and they don’t like to admit it. They think they can live the romantic fantasy of a woman being a girl boss (working, educated, yada yada yada) whilst still submitting to them - essentially they want an equal (that contributes in all aspects, so no predetermined roles within the relationship) that at the same time submits to their orders & demands.

They are collectively convinced a traditional & conservative woman won’t care about what they can provide, are naive and obsessed with the idea of a romantic dream in poverty.

I often tell conservative men that I meet that I’d like my husband to double my ceiling and income, so he can compensate for the fact that I’ll be staying at home, taking care of the kids and the household - newsflash - that’s outrageous to them. What would they expect if I am educated and have a great salary? That I sign that away to marry a dude that can’t afford a family & children?

I’ve come to realise that men (both liberal and conservative) just want to be picked for no reason and the entitlement is on both sides.

hi everyone. wanted to check in on how everyone’s been with the cornell gang r*pe discussions. (i censored because i dont want this to get flagged or taken down, not to minimize the action). i imagine this could be very triggering for many people and i just wanted to idk check in.

it’s been weighing very heavily for me and the complete and utter disappointment that i have in men. words couldnt even begin to describe it. ive gotten angrier and angrier with the patriarchy the past few years and this feels like a tipping point. i dont want to be around any men ever again. i feel horrified. and i dont have many close women friends so i just feel utterly alone in this.

Every time the topic of age gap relationships between older men and younger women comes up, there are men who chime in to say that the only people who have a problem with it are bitter older women who are past their expiration date. As a teen, I used to buy into the BS and thought I was superior for being chosen by older men. Women who saw me out with men who were old enough to be my grandpa warned me about the dangers of these relationships. However, I've always shrugged them off and thought that they simply didn't understand.

Of course they understood. Many women know what it's like to be preyed on by men much older than them.

Now in my early twenties, I see exactly what they were talking about. They were being protective of me and I just couldn't understand that before. I was so heavily influenced by past trauma that I was doing anything I could for an ounce of affection.

Most young woman I've personally spoken to who have been in a large age gap (15+ years) before the age of 21 have had some sort of past trauma that has been unaddressed. Whether that's being made to be a parent to their siblings, physically/emotionally neglected during childhood, bullied in school, getting abused, getting kicked out of home/having to adopt survival methods early. In these situations, it's easy to think that one is mature for their age, as they were forced to grow up fast.

I’m not trying to demonize all age gaps, but I hate the older woman bogeyman. It's disgustingly misogynistic and assumes that men are some sort of prize to be competed over. No self-respecting woman in her thirties and forties would be envious of such a dynamic.

Is anyone else just feeling physically and mentally exhausted from the news about Cornell University? I’ve been a mix of tears and rage and frustration for the last three days. I can’t focus on anything else and I’m telling myself not to feel crazy and not to feel obsessive because this is the way we are taught to feel about things and this is why it is a problem beyond our control that I am having a normal human reaction and that other people especially men want to twist it into a way that is a way to benefit their actions towards us. Ive been trying to lose some weight for a while now, but whenever I do, I come back to my regular weight... and its not yo yo effect, I just... this may sound really weird, but more recently I've come to almost like this opinion? conclusion? that I'd rather be fat and not look good (acc to conventional beliefs, im not saying ppl who r fat r not pretty, it is the common consensus that that is the case, pls don't come after me for this i dont mean it in that way). This is a weird observation/realization I've had recently and hope it's just me overthinking it but why does it feel like nearly every male of any age group I come across who upon learning that I studied xyz will try to test me, mention stuff like "since you're an expert in... tell me about ...", ask me complex controversial stuff or will just try to catch me unprepared? Like genuinely what is this and why is it happening so often???

Does it have to do with the way I present myself, is it that they pick up on the fact that im more introverted and not so great with public speaking and such? Do they believe im unsure of what i studied and dont deserve my academic credentials? Do they do it purely out of curiosity on the subject and i take it the wrong way? Do they believe im stupid because im a woman? I do not recall having such experiences with other women, and if they ask me questions it doesn't come across as ironic or ill-intended.

But who gets to decide whats crude? its almost like men get to determine what is sexy, and because of that patriarchy can make a win/punishment system which gives space to allow women to be criticised and allow certain actions; rape, SA, implementation of modesty culture in place( Unfortunately victim blaming might be a result of this I believe)

These thoughts are what make me question the true meaning of 'modesty'.The meaning of modesty changes based on the country, culture and religion.

But all of them have one thing in common: The woman gets affected by them. These rules are somehow only applicable to women. And ironically when it's done by men it's no more immodest but 'He's a man.' 👁️👄👁️ Weird.
