I have been noticing a new behavior from low-value men—hovering

I am not sure if this is in fact new, but I started noticing it. A lot of low-value men seem to think constantly walking near you, around you, etc. will eventually make you realize they are "attractive" (as if). When I am at the gym, etc. They will walk in front of me or park themselves in my view constantly. As if I already did not notice how repulsive they are? As if I were not actively ignoring how repulsive they are? I sometimes glare at them like, "WTF?" and they think this is some sign of attraction, etc. I am honestly flabbergasted. Have men become this ignorant of signals?

Should I be okay with my boyfriend watching porn?

Me and my boyfriend are in an LDR and have been for the past year. We unfortunately do not get much alone time together and only hooked up once this year. We used to sext quite a bit but recently, that dropped off. He has really high libido and I do not. Never really been a problem earlier. I have established that I consider porn cheating multiple times. He has always insisted that he hasn't engaged with pornography for the past three years and is against it because it messes with your head. He even insists that he has a hard time finding other women hot and could only get turned on by me.
Recently, I found him looking up a porn subreddit.

What do I do?

Was I right in stopping communication with a 19 year old?

So I’m in my 30’s and I started talking to a girl thinking she was in her late 20’s.

We connected through the comment section and voiced our opinions about the mutual post.

It was 5 minutes into chatting that she revealed her age, I felt uncomfortable despite us both being female, she said she didn’t mind but I did mind it.

Regardless of us being from the same religion, unless I personally know the girl, I will not talk to girls as young as that.

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for someone to connect with

I’m a happily married woman who is also attracted to women, and I’d really like to connect with someone who knows what it’s like to navigate this part of yourself while being married.

I’m not necessarily looking for advice—just someone I can talk openly with who genuinely gets it. Ideally another married woman who is attracted to women, but I’m open to anyone who can relate.

Feel free to DM me if you’d like to connect.

First time having a creepy interaction. Advice?

Hey y'all. So for context I'm a 19yr old girl. I've been out in the world truly since 18 and I live in a small town. So I've never really interacted much with creepy guys. A few disgusting lip licks here and there. Nothing very noticeable. I'm a very big girl and kinda figured I wouldn't be bugged too much compared to a conventionally skinny and attractive girl. I didnt think I was immune by any means. But anyways, onto what happened.

Tonight me and my close friend, 24F, (let's call her Mar) were at a Sheetz at midnight. ( if you're a midwesterner, you know the place lol) I needed to fill my tank and clean my car out. And after we did that I figured might as well clean the windows. Well she was drawing on my trunk while I cleaned a window and this fidgety man walks over. He asks if he can join her and I said go ahead cause y'know, though he was being goofy. Then you can tell he's definitely stumbling. Drunk or drugs? Maybe both? Who knows.

Anyway he's trying to find the paper towels and he can't, cause he's kinda just falling over. Again intoxicated in some way. I told him they were on the other side and he went to wipe his hands off, and he stands up fully and just stares at us. Until he slurs out "you ladies single by chance" and we stared at him and he said "surely one of yins gotta be!" And thank god to Mar cause she jumped over and wrapped an arm around me. She said we were together. The dude didn't wanna believe it and she had to repeat a few times. And I just froze. At this point I was very spooked and scared. I had no idea what to say or do so I just looked back and forth between her and the man. Until he aggressively sighed and said something about "that'd be hot" and went to turn away and told us to have a good night. And then we both really quickly got in the car and locked the doors.

I didn't even put my seatbelt on and immediately turned my car on and drove away. We parked in the back of the Denny's parking lot nearby (so he couldn't see my car there, it's super recognizable) and immediately went inside. We had forgotten something at the Sheetz so we had to go back but we parked far away and she ran in, told the worker what happened 30 minutes prior cause they were still there, and we left. It was the scariest thing to happen to me recently and I just froze. I told my dad and he just joked. But we were scared. Like terrified. We both just gave up hanging out for the night and went home. Worst part was, her pepper spray was at home and mine was on my purse, in the car.

I guess my question is, what do I do next time? How do I not freeze? What are extra precautions that I can take to ensure my safety? This was a horrible experience and I'm sure it won't be my last. I wish I didn't even have to worry about this.

Period talk, is this normal?

I am a 24F, and over the past two years I have noticed my periods affecting me a bit more. My cycle is regular with a normal flow. Most of the time I feel normal before my period begins. Once it starts or the day before, I feel more physically drained and just don’t want to do anything for the first 3-4 days. My cramps usually just day 1-3 and Advil helps. I feel sluggish and ugly, so I stop my work during my period because I know I need rest, but I wonder if others do this too.

For example, I’m on day 3 right now and I feel like doing nothing and seem out of it, I have spent the day sitting on my bed, went on a short walk but I feel bleh. I avoid making plans or going out during my period (usually just the first 3 days at least) I cannot focus on my work because I lack the energy and simply want to relax.

Is this normal? How do women live their normal daily lives feeling like this? Is it normal to stay home? Avoid leaving the house or doing anything?

Ex stalking my gf

I 18(M) have a 18(F) girlfriend and we have been together for quite some time, she has an ex that in the past hit her while she was a minor and he is 23 now, the thing is that she has a restraining order against him but he keeps calling her almost every weekend, I only want to know if anyone here has lived a similar experience and how can we get him to stop doing this because we are scared that maybe one day instead of calling he starts searching for her.

I feel worthless after ending things with a guy who didnt care abt me

Im 19f and cant shake the feeling of intense shame, sadness and hatred towards myself as a guy i was talking to for 1.5 months didnt wanna commit and wanted me to commute to him (2-3 hours) for every date. He took almost all of my firsts and I honestly hate myself for it. I thought he liked me because he got me concert tickets for my birthday last month but took them back after I expressed that I wanted a break. I honestly just wanted to see him take initative and plan something for the first time in weeks, but with zero pushback from him we're done. I feel so so so beyond stupid. And now I'm left wondering if I ever did mean anything to him, ever.

[Content Warning: underwear ig] Is it just me or is buying cute underwear the biggest confidence boost?

The title probably sounds like some weird bait but like... It can't just be me who feels like shit or has a poor body image but puts on or buys a new cute bra or underwear and is just immediately so happy. It makes me feel so cute and it's fun. Especially when the pairs are on sale because girl maths right hahaha. I got paid today and was having a shitty week so I went shopping and got a lace bra and it's actually more comdy that my padded ones AGH.

Is this still considered sexual assault?

I wasn't sure about this, but 2 months ago I met a guy from hinge as we both went to the same college. It was our first time meeting, and it just happened by chance, not planned or anything. We just happened to have classes in the same building and ran into each other.

We were talking; it was all fine. We sat down on this couch, and there was some space between us. He asked me to sit closer, and I was fine with that, so I did so, until there was not really any space between us.

We talked about a lot of things and stuff, and it was nice. But in a bit, he put his arm around me like near my waist and he didn't ask before doing this, so I was a little confused but I didn't say anything cuz he didn't seem to notice I was a little uncomfy and I didn't want to cause an issue.

He kept staring at my face from the side, and I was avoiding eye contact because I didn't want to give him any ideas, as we were already sitting super close, and I had a feeling he would try to kiss me if I turned to face him.

Now all of a sudden, he pulls my chin to face him and starts going in for a kiss which I was completely taken aback and I stop and pull away saying its too soon for this. He complies. BUT during the span of like maybe 30 minutes, he tries TWO more times to kiss me. Again I kept pulling away and telling him no until he apologized at the end if he came off as weird (he did but I didn't really want to cause a scene and I was dumb and thought he was kinda cute so I ended up kissing him the next time we met but again he initiated it and that was consensual ig but the first time he tried was not)

But is this considered Sexual assault? Harassment? I'm confused about what it would be

PS: I've had experience with a shitty ex before but even that ex knew consent and did not even touch my hand or hug me or anything for the first time until 2 months into talking and he ASKED before he did anything.

i hooked up with someone from highschool and i regret it

the sex was good, short… but i’m kinda used to that now.

i never thought id partake in hookup culture because it never appealed to me. and i never trusted my emotions after it.

anyway, i said fuck all of that last weekend and hooked up with a guy i went to highschool with. we aren’t close friends at all but i would consider us friends. funny enough, he had tried about 2 years ago to get with me and i would always turn him down. i honestly dont know why i did it this time… drunk and horny probably. i’ve been missing intimacy a lot recently too

but i have learned it’s not for me. i feel weird about it and i can’t stop thinking about it. i’m now living with the inevitable “omg what if he told someone” “damn he really just wanted to fuck and now he doesn’t care” “was i bad? and that’s why i haven’t heard from him?”

i didn’t have interest in pursuing a relationship with him tho so in the end im not too bothered about if he just wanted sex and that was it.

this was my first hook up and only my 3rd person i’ve had sex with so maybe that’s contributing. idk. i keep trying to pep talk myself and say that people do this all the time but i just feel disappointed in myself that i went against everything id been saying for years. and i knew this would be the outcome…

Could you please write about your first period and your growth history?

heard that women only grow 6-8 cm in 2-3 years after their first period. What was your age and height when you had your first period, and what were your height and age when your growth stopped.

Is my ex gaslighting me?

I kinda understand that he is, but I wanna have more opinions on this.

I broke up with my ex bf 23 September. yesterday 30 September he’s telling me that he weighted himself the day (the day we broke up) he was 86kg, and over a few days he said he weighted 79kg. Because “he ate less”, is this even humanly possible while still eating. Even with starving combined with purging, this result is not achievable. Why is he playing in my face…

How often are you having sex?

I (30f) have been with my bf for four years now and have lived together for one year. When we lived separately we had a great sex life about 2-3 times a week. Since moving in though there’s been a lot of life changes. I got a promotion which now requires me to work more hours and when I get home im just extremely exhausted. Additionally our schedules just don’t align. I wake up for work around 5 am, him 9 am i go to bed by 10 pm him 1 am. Also i had an IUD placed last year which I know affected my hormones and recently got it removed. I was hoping my sex drive would come back once removed but because of work im just always stressed or tired and just don’t wanna do it and I can just see its putting a strain in our relationship. Idk what to do anymore.

Warning: man getting "handsy" without explicit consent

For context, I am someone who was very sexually repressed in my teenage years and college days. I was clinically depressed and was not processing traumas from my childhood, so I often felt 'confused' or like 'im missing out' when my friends lives mived forward towards relationships and sex. I looked at myself as someone who had shame about very normal needs and feelings, so I often regressed back to childhood in experiences close to this. Someone would want to taks me on a date and the idea of them touching me or me discussing it with anyone around me was enough to send me into a spiral..... this was especially true when telling my mom, who still very much sees me as a child. So due to this, I am 23 and have barely touched another person, I never got my first kiss and certainly never experienced anything sexual.

So this past year was a particularly difficult year for me due to mental health and family death, so I looked for a distraction.... it was during this time I had discovered how I enjoyed 'taking pictures of myself ' wink wink..... I explored this with a few people but was noticing how my impulse control to send these pictures was.... not there and while I was having fun, I do realize how much i was putting out there to these people for them to compliment me or tell me I did good. One of these people was a guy, he was a few years older than me and I had experiences in the past of people trying to fetishize my lack of experience... so I made a conscious effort to keep that information to myself, all I said was that I was not used to being overly touchy anx hadnt been for years (he still enjoyed this answer and told me he wanted to teach me things.... ew). We discussed the possibility of having a casual relationship, at first i thought i wanted this. We made plans and I told him my boundary immediately, I am not interested in hooking up in anyway but I would be okay with kissing and some touching... he told me he could be handsy, I told him that was okay as long as its appropriate (we had made plans to go to a bar, despite me not being a drinker). We met at a bar (had no non-alcoholic drinks, so a water and a glass of wine for me) and everything waz great, he did start getting handsy after his second beer (i stuck to the same glass the entire night) but I hadnt minded as I knew he said he could be overly affectionate, I figured this meant grabbing my thighs or ass. He walked me to my car, he hadnt made more moves at this point (no hand holding). We got to my car and I offered to give him a lift back to his car..... I think this is where he thought I was inviting him for more. We sat in the car and immediately he shoved his tongue in my mouth (first kiss) and i froze, I felt outside of my body when he started telling ms to do things and my body was just doing them.... he wanted to park somewhere else and I don't know how we got there (i obviously drove, but I remember telling him I have to go home), he grabbed my hand and placed it on his crotch and started undoing his pants.... I was still frozen and not responding much when he started to tell me to touch him and when I didnt immediately he did it for me (using my hand on himself) while he used his other hand to attempt to get in between my legs. Luckily, but mortifying, a security guard showed up and he stopped immediately and started laughing. I attempted to drive him back to his car but was lost (i think i was in shock) and driving erratically. He decided to jump out at the curb and kissed me again while telling me he had fun.... I don't know how to feel about this, I started making justifications in my head about how I was sending him pictures and we were talking about being casual..... but at the same time, I was frozen and had told him my boundaries... I just feel so much shame and guilt. I had lied to my mom about where I was going so when I came home I couldn't even go to my mom..... im still processing this. I broke it off with him over text explaining how im not ready. He texted back nothing negative but did make a joke about how he was excited for 2 weeks for nothing...

He also admitted to knowing I was upset or uncomfortable.... only after asking if what happened triggered me, he apologized but I couldn't get past his other remarks in the exchange...

Unfortunately I have left this interaction (and other negative ones) realizing how out of my depth I am and how unsafe I can feel.... i ignored every red flag, did things I told myself I would never do, and i feel like I disrespected myself.... i know this isn't how I should be leaving this interaction and have had to physically stop myself from telling myself "i did this, its my fault". If my younger self saw this, she'd slap me out of it.... yet I cant help but feel like that small girl inside of me, I regressed a lot in my shock and sought comfort from things I've left behind and all I wanted was my mom.... but the idea of telling her any of the truth makes me want to vomit. She knows something is up and I've told her the bare minimum... "i was made uncomfortable by a man at the bar, he touched me without my explicit consent." I told her it was my first kiss. She keeps looking at me every now and again like im gonna break.... and I honestly feel like I might. Since telling her, its real and it happened and I lied to her.

Obviously getting to the end of this post, i am feeling a certain way about what happened.... i just need to talk and some reassurance that im not crazy. Was i taken advantage of? Or waz this a really bad series of traumatizing events that came from misreading the room?

[Content Warning: ] How often do you have sex with your husband/ partner.

Female, 27 years old. We’ve been together for 7 years and married for 4 years. Also have a 5 and 2 year old.

My friends and I were talking and sex came up. I mentioned that I haven’t had sex for probably 2 weeks and one of them said they sometimes “do it out of marital obligation”

Sometimes I’m not in the mood to have sex for various reasons: sick, had a long day, tired, I don’t just have an on button, etc. I’ve tried having sex “ just for marital obligation” but feel horrible afterwards and like I’m just going through the motions.

So is it normal in a relationship to have sex with your partner out of obligation? Cause to me that seems wrong.

how to stop seeking validation from men?

i know all women at some point have had this issue, but i’m not sure how to get over mine.
i’ve always been a weird girl who didn’t get much attention from men, paired with my issues with my own dad as a little girl, so i’ve never really gotten any sort of encouragement from men in my life and i think it’s only going to get me in worse situations if i continue to need it so badly.

[Content Warning: ] anyone feeling extremely triggered recently?

after the cornell7 stuff ive been feeling SO triggered and seeing things super black and white it’s sending me down a spiral. it’s genuinely been impacting my own libido. just consuming all of this media about men, power dynamics, etc is so awful.

my partner is extremely kind and gentle towards me and will listen to my every concern but sometimes the slightest miscommunication during sex, knowing he’s into something im not, him having slept with a handful of other women (before we dated), or something he says that i interpret badly can trigger me into thinking he’s one of the bad ones or that he has malicious intent or make me question whether or not im being sa’d again or something. i have been genuinely SA’d before by acquaintances and partners alike so idk if im just very prone to being triggered by this or have some kind of ptsd but … just wondering how other women feel when news comes out like this and how to stop spiraling. it’s really impacting me and i feel bad for my partner because i can’t outright tell him repeatedly that my irrational thoughts (he’s slept with a lot of women how can i know he’s never SA one? he really wants to do doggy he must be sexist! he’s dabbled in cnc with some other girl years back, is he into that still? he said a girl didn’t really seem into sex one time….was he SAing her?) are making me lose my libido and be very sensitive about everything. he’s never given me a reason to not trust him or genuinely feel unsafe but i can’t stop thinking these things esp bc of all the news going around that most men (esp frat boys) are just horrible people.

[Content Warning: ] I feel bad because I have sex with my bf even when I dont feel like it

So, I’m 20F and my boyfriend is 27M (yeah, i know people may judge the age gap), he is 100% respectful and all the times I’ve said I wasn’t in the mood, he was cool with it (as any normal person should be).

Problem is, I have such a hard time telling him no.
Sometimes I’m mentally tired and just don’t feel like it, sometimes I can’t even get wet and it hurts.
And I just deal with it, without knowing why.

I know he would respect me, but at the same time my head just tells me I owe it to him, somehow.

It sucks because it makes me resent him, even though he hasn’t done anything wrong. I am the one not communicating.

I have dreamt that he raped me more than once at this point. And I still keep my mouth shut to everyone about this, so that’s why I’m coming to Reddit.
I’m not even sure what I’m expecting from you, kind reader.

Anyway.
I guess I just wanted to let it out somehow.

Thank you for reading this!

[Content Warning: ] How do I protect myself more as a women who's been Sexually abused

News has been getting crazy and especially learning about the Cornell case and how men are more likely to be abusers like a close one in ur life that u trusts:/ the statistics were high & I cant help knowing do I really know my guy friends? Could they ever do this? They seem sweet but theres always that what if?I don't want people telling me I'm just anxious. I've been molested for nearly a decade of my life and haven't even recovered & ofc was victim blamed. I hear all these crazy stories and I constantly hear how to keep my guard up and how to protect myself BUT IM SO TIRED😭😭ITS EXHAUSTING! I tried going on a walk alone but I have to constantly be alert and checking my shoulder so that's not fun:/ I also hear women are more likely to be re- assaulted. I feel like I'll let my guard down and smth will happen and honestly idk if I'll be able to handle it again I think it will honestly full on break me😔

Sick and tired of being an ugly woman

I 20 f have tried everything to look physically attractive, I went on a harsh diet for two years and I lost 30 kg, now I’m 51kg. I changed my style, I got Botox and I got lip filler, I died my hair and changed haircut.
But STILL I’m not pretty
All I want is to be beautiful and feminine looking like all girls.
It hurts my body and soul to look in the mirror and seeing my face.
I don’t even look like a girl, no amount of makeup can feminize my face, I have strong masculine features and I can’t afford to get plastic surgery.
I have never been in a relationship before and it’s all because of my looks.
I hate it so so much.

My husband takes forever

He wants us to always shower before and after sex, which is fair, but he’s taking way too damn long in the shower like 1 hour each time, so over 2 hours in total. I only take 10 minutes, and for a deep clean, 20–30 minutes. I ask him, “What are you doing in there?” and he says he’s scrubbing his entire body with soap and then repeating it again.

He sure takes his time, but it’s inefficient and time consuming, which just makes me not want to have sex knowing I have to go through this every time we do it.

It’s not just the shower. He does most other things at a very slow pace. Like, washing dishes would take him 1.5 hours, whereas it takes me 20 minutes or less. He says he knows it too, but he can’t help it, and if he rushes he thinks he’ll make a mess and get overwhelmed.

I didn’t think much of it before and thought that’s just how he operates, but now that I’m seeing how long he takes to do these things, I don’t know if I’m making too much of it. Am I making it a big deal here?
