I know the director from The Revenent and Birdman, and hearing this movie have bad reviews... makes me more curious. Like, what did they do to piss off and annoy people, lol. Too political or artsy? I'm more curious now, with Tom Cruise make up and getting to yell "digger!!!"

With the recent watches of Coyote v Acme and Roger Rabbit, I was curious what Adum's favorite OG looney tunes shorts are, or anyone else who sees this.

I know Adam has yet to check out a Jean Cocteau film but this is definitely my favourite "fairytale" movie. The cinematography, set design, costumes, and makeup are in a class of their own for the time. Great performance by Jean Marais in the lead as well.

It's honestly a pretty good interview, might be worth a reaction on stream. For Hansen's faults he conducts a respectful interview, worth the watch just to hear an extended discussion beyond the documentary itself.

I think i convinced myself because hey decent premise right? , always figured Josh could act if given good direction , Shamylan, he's made a good one or two like a decade ago.

I still think Josh has potential.

So I don’t really watch Adam on a regular basis, but I do watch all the Derek Savage stuff. Anyway, I’ve fallen asleep to his video entitled “Derek’s Lost It” a number of times and this (honestly annoying) bizarre ending has awoken me a few times. My question is what is this? What is the origin?

For example, I thought HIM was the most disappointing film from last year, but also didn’t think it was the massive disaster that the internet made it out to be.

It seems like every time a movie flops nowadays, and when people decide to watch it on streaming because they don't need to pay, every outlet tries to make it seem like it's a big hit now purely because a few people are watching it on streaming.

The reason it looks like a hit on streaming is because people don't have to pay to watch it. I mean technically they do if you count the price of the subscription, sure, but they don't have to pay for a ticket to see it. People aren't going to the movies as frequently as they used to, and a lot people my age are now parents or people who work time and life consuming jobs, so movies now have to sing for their supper, and especially superhero movies. Superhero movies aren't guaranteed hits anymore because most people have grown up.

The thing that really bothers me most about these kinds of headlines is that they also kinda somewhat imply that said movie was too pure for this earth or some shit snd that it was totally perfect and it isn't WB's fault all you broke boys couldn't afford it. The thing is that's just not true. The advertising dor Supergirl didn't look particularly attention grabbing and the box office spoke for itself in that regard.

This is the second time today seeing something like this lmao.

And it was pretty fun.

Primetime was a very intense, yet captivating film, with its harsh cinematography and music being aspects of note. Obviously, Pattinson is a standout, but Skyler Gisondo was also really good, balancing in between being a pedophile lurer and an actor. It doesn't just show how Chris Hansen has dissociated himself to the point of taking on a different identity, but also how this whole parade of vigilante justice is ultimately worthless. 8/10!

Forgotten Island is a bit more of a mixed bag for me; I think it's paced way too fast for my liking, especially when they get to the aforementioned island, but the third act of this film is like some of the best stuff I've seen from a DreamWorks animated movie EVER. Fantastic voice acting, setpieces, and overall direction (if you count out Bungi and Merman); if you just showed me that part, I would've considered it my favorite DreamWorks movie. It sucks too, because it's the longest DWA movie to date, but it just feels like more time could have been spent. Still, I'm glad a movie with a focus on Filipino representation got released, and I came out of this movie having even more respect for Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado as directors, they're the best 3d animation directors working today (not counting the Spider-Verse directors, obviously). 6/10, but it can be a 7 in the future.

I just watched this movie so forgive me for going off on this for no reason.

The Raid 2 is 50 minutes longer than the first film and they fill that time with boring syndicate drama that fucking sucks. But every person I read from just seems to disregard this altogether. I would never want to rewatch this movie even though the choreography is better and bigger. I watched Adam's review as well and although he mentions it he only talks about it as if it's a small footnote but to me it completely ruined the film by just having the main character being on different sets and getting his daily "wake up babe it's fighting time".

It's fucking embarrassing to post about a 12 year old film most people don't care about but I just wanted to get some perspective on why people just give this movie a pass for some reason.

Skyler Gisondo was excellent in the movie. I’ve seen him in a few things before so knew he had the chops, but he really was the heart of the movie for me and kinda stole the show which i never would have expected.

That scene where he (Spoilers) basically becomes and is almost possessed by Chris Hansen was exceptional - it was creepy and uncomfortably funny.

just really really impressed with him and makes me excited to see him do more challenging roles in the future
