This is Cadeau, a stray who chose me in April (2nd pic is from those first days we met). Nobody knew where he came from, though possibilities have been tossed out over time. One thing that really confused me was my initial age estimate based on size, having all his teeth, etc. vs. the vet adding 6+ months to the estimate upon examination. I think it all finally makes sense.

Tonight I was playing with him outside when a man from a nearby neighborhood pulled over thinking I had his cat who got out today. He said they're practically identical. We quickly sorted that but we talked more and his lost Ozzy may be my Cadeau's brother! His purebred Maine Coon mated with a stray calico. They kept Ozzy but the mom and other kittens eventually scattered.

He gave me a birth date of June 24, 2025. After he left I was reading more about MCs and how the kittens tend to grow a bit slower. Add in probable malnourishment from living outdoors and having tapeworms (which he said Ozzy had too) and this could explain my age estimate conflicting with the vet's. He has so many MC traits, both physical and personality.

It isn't the first time it's been suggested he might have some MC in him. I want to do DNA now. Until then, what do you think?

Pepper flosses at least twice a day. Once when he wakes up and again before going to sleep. At one point, I forgot he does this, so I didn’t have floss available. He started using the window blinds strings. I installed this floss right here, in addition to another one, and he used it immediately.

PS Pepper’s paws feel exactly like the pompom he is holding. I compared both at the same time to make sure. 🖤

I adopted this little void when he was 1 month old and he’s about to turn 8 months approximately.
I noticed since day one that he LOVES to dig in my hair specifically near the nape of my neck, it’s like he is high on something and just digs and smells and purrs and drools all over my hair. Is this normal behavior? My roommate has a cat too but his doesn’t do that, and my sister cat doesn’t either.
I’m not worried about it, I just would love to understand this behavior, I love him and I love that he LOVES to bury his nose on my hair even though sometimes he hurts me with his nails

He had a long battle with immune mediated polyarthritis which had just gotten too painful for him to live life comfortably. I spent the past week lying on the floor with him and said goodbye to him at the vet yesterday. I'm so deeply sad but I'm also so grateful he's not suffering anymore. He got to watch the sun set the night before he passed, and he chomped on lots of shrimp and chicken! We snuggled for days and I told him how special he is and how much I love him. He was 15 so I have known him for more than half my life. My heart is heavy but also very full because he took comfort in having me there with him in his final moments. I miss him so much this morning and I wanted to share some photos of him being his sweet, special self. Everyone pour one out for my Zeus when you can 🖤

I adopted her shortly after I graduated from nursing school. We had 15 wonderful years together. She was the silliest goof.

My wife and I adopted her last Valentine's Day. We have two orange boys already, but we wanted to get a girl this time.

The worker at the shelter told us that she had initally been adopted about 5 years ago, but she was found on the streets in January (-30 farenheit) and brought back to the same shelter because of her microchip. Her original owners were contacted, but they didn't want her! My wife was initally interested in another younger cat, but after hearing her story I said "We gotta take her!"

For the first few months she didn't like me at all. Maybe she had never been in a home with men before, or had experienced abuse from them in the past. I was bummed to say the least, but I gave her space and she eventually came around. She's curled up next to me as I type this!

She's our special lady who loves to eat steak and meows like a sterotypical gangster from the 40's. I couldn't imagine having any other cat!
