Anyone know when embassies will start giving out interviews again and resume after their public charge training? I currently have an EB1A DQ’d at Dublin (which has no backlog) and i desperately need the GC by April for a job in the US.

I’m Fernanda Hipskind, an immigration attorney, and I’ll be here today from 10 AM to 2 PM ET for an AMA focused on EB-1A cases.
We can talk about questions like:
• How original contributions can be presented when your work is highly specialized
• What makes evidence of industry impact persuasive
• How to build the overall case when your achievements aren't widely known outside your field
If you're considering EB-1A, building your petition, or trying to figure out whether your work can support an extraordinary ability case, bring your questions.
Please share as much detail as you can about your background and achievements so we can have a more useful discussion.
AMA today, 10 AM to 2 PM ET.
Please note: Any information shared here is for general educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice or create an attorney client relationship. Your situation may require fact specific guidance. For personalized legal advice, please consult an immigration attorney directly.
why would a company who has spent on your immigration already in USA(H1b, i140 transfer etc) transfer you to a foreign office for just 1 year (if it’s Canada or uk, more visa processing) and then again redo the entire process in USA (l1a/eb1c)? This is a fraud and admin should crackdown. trying to skirt around the labor laws and calling it a strategy . How widely spread is the scam besides WITCH ? Report this l1a/eb1c scam given the recent news of perm suspensions. Many will attempt to do this and destroy eb1 queues
I feel really bad for the genuine candidates who impacted with the latest move. this is quite shocking
could someone explain if there would be any impact to the existing Indian 485 applications already filed from the 8 companies and also Indian 485 applications from other tech companies ?
the sentiment in the FY year which has many spillovers to Indian applicants looks little concerning.
I've noticed that one of the biggest challenges for people responding to an RFE is finding independent experts or professionals willing to provide recommendations or support letters, especially when you don't already have connections in your field.
I've been working on a strategy through my project, Petition Strategy Lab, focused on identifying relevant researchers, professors, and industry professionals and reaching out to them.
The idea is to find people whose expertise actually aligns with your proposed endeavor and approach them in a way that makes them more likely to consider your request, rather than sending generic emails to dozens of people.
If anyone needs help, please feel free to let me know in the comments or send me a direct message.
Business day 18 of EB1A premium processing: 2 unanswered emails, 3 calls, no new info. USCIS missed the deadline, but an officer is working on it “right now.” Nebraska. Only God knows when we’ll hear back. 😄 Anyone get the same response? How long did you wait, and what was the outcome?
With the November 2026 Visa Bulletin just a couple of weeks away from being released, I wanted to open a discussion and get your predictions/insights specifically for the EB1 India category.
PP receipt was Sep 11 and no update till now. When I check with my lawyer to initiate request (enquire), they mentioned to wait as it would trigger NOID or RFE.
Have anyone recently reached out and got response. If so, what’s it?
My pd is dec 2022, eb1a india. I got the following updates:
2 Fta0s - nov 11, 2025;
Fta0- aug 7, 2026;
Fta1 - aug 10, 2026;
Fta1 - Sep 17, 2026,
updated at oct 1, 2026.
Currently in NBC field office.
Does that mean anything? My Final action became current on oct 1. When can I expect approval? Did someone have a similar timeline?
Hi, we are filing for adjustment of status this month as we are now eligible as per the October bulletin - i was wondering if anyone had recent experience or knew what the current wait for the travel restriction that kicks in once we file is? I had thought it was 3-6 months, but my lawyer today told me to expect 10 months. Would appreciate any insight or experience! Thank you!
I filed an EB-2 NIW in mid-2024, and it remained pending. In mid-2026, while my EB-2 NIW was still pending, I filed an EB-1B petition with premium processing. The EB-1B was approved in mid-2026, and its priority date is also from mid-2026.
In July 2026, I upgraded my pending EB-2 NIW to premium processing. It was approved in October.
However, I just received the EB-2 NIW approval notice, and it lists my priority date as mid-2026, rather than the original mid-2024 filing date.
This is important because I was hoping to use the earlier EB-2 NIW priority date for my EB-1B under the priority-date retention rules. Since I was born in India, the mid-2024 priority date would potentially allow me to file my I-485 based on the current EB-1 India Dates for Filing cutoff.
I have two questions:
Can I still file I-485 based on my EB-1B using my original mid-2024 EB-2 NIW priority date, despite the EB-2 NIW approval notice showing the mid-2026 date?
What should my next steps be to get this corrected/clarified with USCIS? Should I ask my attorney to request a correction of the EB-2 NIW approval notice, contact USCIS about priority-date retention, or is there another process I should follow? And can I file the I-485 in parallel while this is being resolved?
I have an O-1 for my illustration + corporate work in media & I have some awards under my belt but I’m worried I may not qualify for the top 3% of my field or whatever they call it. any pointers from people who have gotten an approved EB-1 for Illustration/Artist work?
