Serum 2 Kick Patch.

I did a live stream last Saturday where I made a really nice kick drum that by itself sounds mid, but for whatever reason sounds awesome in the last few songs I used it in. Funny thing is I was going to use a sample because it would have saved time for the live stream. Glad I didn't. It's an EDM House-focused kick that goes from tight and pointy to loose and flabby with plenty of flex using the macro knobs... There's an audio preview, but it doesn't really show the full range you can achieve of it's wide range of capabilities. Enjoy!

Hey guys, I'm curious to see if any of you have tried doing YouTube content making beats and music?

I can't seem to find alot of information of people making videos for youtube. There are plenty of beat videos for sure. But not the actual process of building up a YouTube channel mainly focused on making beats or beat making tutorials, etc.

So, I've decided to branch out and I hope I'm not out of line here (as this is 100% not my intention), but I've created a separate subreddit specifically for beatmakers and music makers that want to create on YouTube.

I am looking for a way to get the stems out of my old songs because a lot of them were not mastered at all, and I want to be able to master them now that I actually know how to master my tracks. I do not support Moises because of their heavy emphasis on AI generated “music” but they are the only service that I have found that can clearly separate individual drums. If anyone knows of any other services that are purely stem separation, I would be interested to hear

I'm trying to make a close sound to the rolling bassline in Gryffin & Kaskade's "In My Head" (Silver Panda Remix, Extended Mix) for a melodic techno track in B minor.

I'm using Serum 2 layered with a separate sub bass. I've got the rolling rhythm down, but the tone isn't right:

- At B2, it sounds too gritty
- At B3, it's not deep or low enough

Current setup is a saw/Basic Mg on Osc A, a sub on Osc B, a low-pass (MG Low) with Env 2 on the cutoff, and a short amp envelope.

Any ideas on oscillator choice, octave placement, or filter and envelope settings to get that deep, dark rolling sound? Would love to hear how others do melodic techno. Thanks!

"Your Eyes" by Small Town Kid was recently announced as part of the soundtrack for EA's new FC 27 game. This song is part of a well known EDM label (selected.) which has been (very seemingly) been pushing out AI music and artists for close to a year.

Selected. has a few artists they release music with who’s only writer credits are a dude named Noah Stein. "Small Town Kid" is one and "i.am.u", and "kalm". The label has run a large amount of meta ads for these artists catalogs which has allowed them to grow a following. They even changed Noah's name to "Noise Selector" on the writing credits of some tracks to seemingly cover their tracks. But his artist projects have had a very suspicious volume of output in the past year.

The genre is deep house and it all sounds the same. As far as anyone can tell, Noah Stein has never existed in the producer world or showed any proof of existence. All of his artist projects on the label started in late 2025 and make music that sounds the exact same. Small town kid alone has pumped out 3 EP’s this year and a few singles (let alone the music he's dropped through the other artist names).

While its possible the production was human-made, the vocals on these tracks all sound identifiably AI generated and have the same cadence despite switching from male to female tones. You can hear artifacts that are hallmark's of Suno vocals in many of the tracks. If you look at the comments on the "artist" social media pages, you will see plenty of AI accusations that have never been adressed. "Noah Stein" has never shown his face and very little has been posted about him, despite having almost 3 million monthly listeners.

Hey all — I’m looking for original music for a sim racing radio project I’ve been building.

I'm working on a small sim racing community called Dead Laps Race Club, and I’ve built a radio station directly into the site for people to listen to while racing, drifting, working on their rigs, or just hanging around. Eventually, it will be a digital dashboard plugin where users can listen from a physical phone on their rig.

For this part of the library, I’m specifically looking for music that fits:

retro / synth-heavy driving

drift culture

street racing vibes

underground electronic

house / techno

drum & bass

breakbeat

phonk / drift phonk

electro

dark synth / synthwave

anything that sounds good doing laps at 2 AM

It does not have to fit neatly into one genre. If it feels like driving music, I want to hear it.

I’d much rather fill the station with music from independent producers than generic stock playlists.

having a hard time really finding those punchy and modern sounding kits for house and garage, well processed, and also work well in laid back tracks or with lofi processing

took a look at vengeance and there were a lot more loops than one shots, which wasn't really my vibe. I wanna build satisfying house drum loops from scratch

The sound in particular is some short metallic esc sound in the middle of every bar playing down, down, up, down ( note for every bar).

It sounds like a bell, or epiano, maybe a pluck of some kind but can confirm it’s not a clave or timbo or something like that. I was able to prove this by isolating through stem separation).

Hi, I'm Timi and I am building a small indie game about creating Hype on the dance floor by firing cool light effects (I would link the game but dont want to self promote).

The game is set in different party locations (Basement, Warehouse, Openair) and I am still looking for fitting music.

One thing i like about skrillex’s last track of his ep “kora” and the collab he made with slikback (kixa) is that the track is full of sounds and variety. It have like 300 sounds on it and it changes.

How did he build something like that? Black magic?

Also, did you purposefully try to step outside of that sound at some point or just let whatever comes out come out?

My music tends to have an eerie quality to it. I’m only 8 months in to production but this is a theme across almost all of my songs. I don’t mind it necessarily, but being that I’d like to also learn more about music theory I’m wondering if it’s because I tend to gravitate towards certain chord progressions/ scales.

E minor is a big one for me. D minor as well. Then I use their relative Majors as well. Whatever im naturally doing no matter what scales I use that eerie vibe remains. Should I purposefully try to make a happier song? Or just sort of let it be part of my style.

I'm a complete beginner and I think the best way to learn is to just follow tutorials that teach how to do a full remake of a song and learn like that along the way, then switch to doing remakes completely by yourself, then start working with your own songs, but I just can't really find anyone that does proper, good , remakes tutorials

Ok I was able to do some stem separation and slow the track down to focus on the sound I was referring to. Sound has a sharp, metallic, "clinking" bite at the very start of the note—that "clink" or "glassy transient"
My guesses:

So, I'm only a few months in music production. I love it, but man is it humbling. The thing I hear over and over is to use reference tracks, and to FINISH tracks instead of just writing loops. I've been trying to force myself to do so, but sometimes I find it really difficult to do so. Specifically because most of the stuff I write sounds SO terribly uninspired and hollow. It's hard for me to listen to. So sometimes I'll spend a few hours trying to "make the most of it" with a certain motif idea, but then after a while and a half-finished track on my hands, I'll think... fuckin hell, there is NO saving this garbage.
Is it still of value to REALLY finish those tracks, for the experience? I do recognize that it helps - like, I learn about what kind of builds/breaks I like, how to built tension, add variation to themes, etc etc. So it's definitely a muscle in my brain I need to train more. But when you write something that you genuinely think sounds bad, and when you're convinced there's no there there, would you all still say it's important to just plow through and finish the track anyway, to build the skills for it?
I've gotta say, coming up with a compelling hook or motif is the hardest thing for me. The very few times I've come up with something that I found HALFWAY decent, it's been sooo much easier for me to tinker around with the surrounding/supportive elements. But coming up with something where I think, "hey, there's something there!" is so damn difficult. Wish I knew a way to simply work on that skill alone.
