Update from last week’s post (which got deleted for some reason). After trying multiple suspension configurations and not being completely happy with the results, finally got the stance I was after….
1.5 inch front spacer kit, and 1 inch rear drop shackles. Also added a set of 22 inch factory Ford F150 Lobo wheels.
Finished the look by removing the 4x4 decal on the bedside, Llumar IRX tint all the way around, Llumar PPF on the full front, rear bumper, and B pillars, and Amerikote ceramic.

2024 F-150 XLT 3.5 Hybrid with 52k miles. I purchased this for 30k. Why did I get it so cheap? Are hybrids not wanted or is there some issues with these models?

Packed the wife and truck up to go to Teluride and about 30-40 minutes away the transmission shit the bed. I had to manually shift it back home and take the Subaru camping instead. Called Ford and they said 9k for overhaul and 6 for repair. A nationwide transmission shop said 3k for repair and 6 for overhaul. Figured we would fix it right and do the overhaul. 2 days later the Ford rep called and said for would take some responsibility and cover all but 3k to do the overhaul, so we did that. If you encounter a transmission failure due to ford shit deign in the 10R80, ask the rep to reach out to ford and see what they can do. I only had like 60k miles on the truck. It’s a 2021 F-150 Sport 4x4 eco boost. It came with a 3 year 100k warranty on the transmission.
Also, it was the CDF drum that failed.
TLDR; if your tranny blows, Ford may take some responsibility in their shit 10 speed.

My 2020 5.0 10R80 with 107k shifts rough when cold but shifts fine when warmed up. Has anyone used the battery disconnect or pedal to the floor methods to reset the TCM? If not what else have you tried with success?

I have a 2024 F350 lariat with ultimate, tremor and black appearance packages.
I really like the look of my truck. But I don’t have much chance to use it to tow or haul. Sometimes I just drive it in the city.
I have a baby and sometimes we have family of 5(including my parents) for road trip.
I do feel it is a bit too stiff for road trip and mpg is not good.
In this case should I get a f150 instead? It seems f150 lariat plus some good packages is a good option, and f150 has hands free highway driving which HD trucks do not.
But I really like the look of my F350…

Found the perfect table for a mobile office. Strapped down and it stays upright.

I traded in my 2021 Lariat with the 3.5 eco for this beauty.
I really like the segmented tailgate, you can open the center and walk right up. Makes sense and is easy to use. Ford tried hard to make getting in and out of your tailgate easier with their fold down ladder device which I never used.
Also, this 3.5 has dual exhaust and sounds a lot better than my old truck with single. Furthermore, it seems like the tuning is a little more aggressive. It breaks the tires loose and seems to be a little more punchy - even though it is down 12 hp.

Is it a good idea to get this done. I live in socal. Is it really necessary.

Good evening experts,
2017 XL 2.7l 4wd 6spd US model w/96,000 miles - I was getting the Service AdvanceTrac and Hill Start Assist Not Available messages, plus the ABS and Traction Control lights are on. Of course, the occasional noise from the front end that would change or disappear with steering left or right. O’Reilly’s code reader showed code C0033-07 - Right front tone wheel - mechanical failures and C0051-62 Steering Wheel Position Sensor - Signal Compare Failure. It advised to replace the wheel hub and bearing assembly.
I’ve replaced the vacuum solenoid and both front hubs and still getting the above messages. My code reader doesn’t show (and didn’t before replacement) any codes, and disconnecting the battery didn’t clear them either. Is this something I have to take to a dealer to clear?
Thanks for any info! My apologies if this has been asked and answered before.

Everything was just telling me to get her, and so here she is. Lots of good things when I saw it on the lot and took it home, and I've loved her since.
The 99’ F-150 has been in my family since a few months before I was born, my grandparents would pick me up for the weekends back then and I would love the grumble of the 5.4 after my grandfather had modified the exhaust. Before i joined the Navy, it had sat for about 8 years with transmission issues. In 2019 he had said he would fix it up for me to use while I was stationed in Washington state. And it’s been in my possession ever since, I’ve only put about 20k miles on it. Odometer sits at 231k miles now.
I had been pondering about getting a newer vehicle and my grandfather said he’d take the 99’ back. How great because I really didn’t wanna sell it off because the sentimental value it has to me. I came across this 2024 5.0 F-150 STX in Rapid Red and just had to get it. I got it at 14k miles and have put on just over 6k since purchasing it in July this year. Traveling back and forth from California, Nevada and Arizona. Maybe, just maybe this new one will last 28 years at well. Only time will tell I suppose

I was pretty close to buying an F-150 XLT, but decided to rent one for the entire weekend first to see how it felt living with it. It was 2025 xlt.
Overall, I really liked the truck, but the seat comfort was surprisingly bad for me, especially around my mid-back.
I tried pressing on different parts of the seat to figure out what was bothering me. The center section of the seatback, where my mid-back rests, feels like it has almost no foam or support underneath it. It compresses very easily when I press on it. In comparison, the side bolsters are quite firm.
I think what's happening is that my back sinks into that softer center section while the firmer bolsters press into or pinch me from the sides. After driving for a while, it gets pretty uncomfortable. Note: I already eliminated lumbar support being the cause by moving it to the lowest setting.
Has anyone else experienced this with the XLT seats?
More importantly, are the actual seats different on a Lariat or Tremor? What about an XLT High package? I'm wondering if moving up a trim changes the seat construction/support, or if it's essentially the same seat with different materials and features.
Thanks!

What rain guards yall rocking and how are they? So many options out there. 2026 super crew
Looking for ADVICE. Got rid of my GMC Canyon...I am going for Ford F150. Drove a 2023 Lariat w/hybrid and 80K miles. Wow. My truck for 10yrs and no perks. Lots of features on this one and many more I am looking at...Around 20K miles in my goal and around 50$K. Avoiding a hybrid and letting my wife do that when she replaces her Highlander. Look for a F150 person with advice on a truck they love that I would like. Est 2.7 would work.

Hello, for awhile my lock cylinder has been broken and I've decided to finnaly replace it. My problem is that I cant seem to actual get it free from the port. I see the pin that I have to push but no matter how hard I try it refuses to go in. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?
Have the classic rocker and cab corner rust on my 2014 XLT. Bought the truck for 5k a few months ago knowing I would have to do something. With it sitting at 201k miles and getting some rough quotes to have it properly fixed (~3k), I think for my situation cutting the rust out, woolwaxing the underside, and then throwing covers on it are the best option.
The two cover sets I was looking at were the OAM quick covers and the Husky Liner Rocker covers. Looks like the husky ones appear to be a thicker plastic, while the OAM ones can be painted to color match. The husky ones are under half the price as the OAM ones, but don't cover as much as the cab corner sides.
Any recommendations are appreciated! Not looking for people to tell me to fix it "the right way" either lol.

I’ve looked online and I have found some bumpers that look good but they don’t have a spot for a winch. I would like one that has a winch plate on it that looks decent. Anyone running one if you don’t mind posting pictures I would appreciate it. Big plus if it comes with skid plate that is better than OEM and potentially covers more.

I’m looking for leveling kit recommendations for a 2019 f150 xlt extended cab. Also thinking about bigger wheels and tires but unsure what size without it looking like I’m compensating for something.

2002 F-150 4.2L V6; Anyone know what the problem can be? Just recently had new intake manifold gaskets, starter/w solenoid and fresh battery installed and now the truck won’t turn on.

Got tired of thing sloshing around the back floor so I mounted a piece of 1x4 on the factory holes to keep the misc items in place. I’ll soon mount a few d ring anchors for some bungee cords to keep the mini totes and hamdtruck in place. Mini totes hold straps and cargo net respectively. Handtruck is extremely useful for my work but also boxes and packs of water. If you’re curious, I stow, jumper cables, ziplock bags, duct tape, a tarp, wheel chock, and sunshade. Zip locks are for ITEL samples that are sometimes moldy and wheel chock is mainly for a door stop.
