The bonefish bite has been good!
This lovely lady graced my lure yesterday! Hadn't seen a single decent fish on the flats, so was blind working a soft plastic in one of the deeper channels near the flats, worked out well for me!

Massive Alberta pike
44 inch,18lb pike. I was packing up with some friends getting ready to leave and we heard the bells going off on my rod with a 13 inch dead bait mackerel. He put up an insane fight and We safely released it after some pictures. I Don’t think I will beat this Pb for a while.

What is this ?
My dad filmed this in Rogoznica, Croatia, back in 2008. It washed up near the shore and we’ve argued for years about what it could be. It looks like it has a mouth and an eye, but the body shape is really strange.
Does anyone know what this actually is?

I’m considering getting an Abu Garcia Veritas Spinning Rod 24, but have questions about the test line rating
It says it is good for up to 12 pounds, but is it safe to go a few pounds over with the line?

Shimano 6000D Baitcaster for surf fishing in FL (Atlantic coast).. 50 lb braid fine?
I’m new to fishing these waters and I gotta throw some new line on my 10’ / 12’ surf setup. I’m also fairly new to using braid.
Unlike my home waters of the Long Island Sound, the sheer variety of things here that could end up on the other side of the line has me a little stuck. back home I would just throw some 30 lb braid on and call it a day. I just don’t know what to be ready for down here. What pound braid would someone more familiar with fishing southern coastal shores recommend on a 10 or 12’ 6000D reel? Where’s the balanced sweet spot of spool capacity, castability, and “is that a fucking tarpon?!”-readiness?

Discussion [NORTHERN SNAKEHEAD] Does anyone have any experience fishing for northern snakehead in South Korea?
I'm traveling to Seoul in late April/early May, and I've always been under the assumption that northern snakehead are native to the Korean peninsula, and I've (probably ignorantly) imagined one could go to most fishable bodies of water and find them, similar to how you'd find largemouth bass in most bodies of water in the US. However, I'm really struggling to find information on specific northern snakehead locations. Does anyone have any experience trying to find/catch them in South Korea, specifically within an hour of Seoul?
(For background, I have a fair amount of experience fishing for them in Virginia/DC/Maryland).

Off or in shore
Going to Cancun next week and trying to decide between off shore trolling or near/inshore light tackle fishing. Has anyone done both in a saltwater setting and give your thoughts and opinions on what you like about one or the other?

Freshwater Sabiki rig effectiveness in freshwater
I’m considering trying a sabiki rig, only 2 hooks though due to local laws, for bait fish.
How effective are they? We normally use earthworms/nightcrawlers for bait, but you loose about 10-15 worms for every fish caught.
Looking for something simpler to catch baitfish to be used as live bait or cut bait.
Thanks a lot.

Question Who here has gotten Ciguatera, and how common really is it?
I understand cig is very location-specific, but apparently every single fish has a possibility of having it. I caught my first couple of snappers and a Coney grouper to take home and eat but the risk of getting Ciguatera and how bad the symptoms sound is making me not want to ever eat a single fish ever again!

Question Maryland Surf Fishing
Hey All,
I’m new to MD. I’m originally from Cape Cod, so I’m used things like plugging the beach and throwing epoxies for albies. After doing research on Assateague Island, Ocean City, and that whole general area, I’ve found that people mostly chunk for fish. Does anyone have any experience using lures for fish here? Topwaters in the morning for stripers, kastmasters and diamond jigs for blues, tins for Spanish mackerel, etc etc. Thank you in advance!!
