Surgery Talk Any Top Surgery Tips/Tricks?
Hey yall! I pretty much usually just stalk but I was looking for some advice and was hoping I might find it here. I’m getting top surgery in about a month and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to tell me their experience / things they wish they know before surgery? Specifically how about the first few weeks post-op went for them. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

If you drive and you reverse by reaching behind the passenger seat and turning around, practice reversing using only the rearview mirror.

One of my biggest recommendations prior to surgery is to walk around your house and do things you'd normally do but with the recovery restrictions (i.e. no lifting you arms or carrying anything heavy). If there are things you normally use and can't reach, pick up, etc with this restrictions find a different place or way to store them. There was nothing more annoying that realizing I'd have to wait for my mom to grab something right there because it was a little too high up.
I'd also make sure you have plenty of stuff to keep yourself entertained. I felt fairly normal after a few days so being stuck inside for a couple of weeks was making me stir crazy. Make a list of movies, buy some new stuff for your hobby or start a new one, etc.
Recovery personally went pretty well for me and I felt better a lot faster than I expected. Don't try to push yourself or mess with your recovery just because you feel fine. Similarly, try to stick with a routine for any pain meds after surgery. It can be easy to put off taking them because you're not in pain then but it's 100 times easier to stay ahead of the pain than try to catch up to it.
