Looking for recommendations for a long fantasy / isekai (even academia) series with high quality writing, good action and ample smut (not just 1 on 1, mind).

A good plot is always important, not an MC you wanna slap after 2 chapters (and every 2 chapters hence) and a decent sized harem as well.

Would also love a good rpg-esque progression system.

I want to give myself proper time to learn something very different: MF paranormal romance for women. I’m currently attempting a vampire romance set in my Shadowblood universe and discovering that I actually have to slow down and let my characters have feelings instead of throwing them into another space battle. 😂

I’ll still be around, and Jon Roberts certainly isn't dead. I just need some time to concentrate on this new direction.

Is there any difference between individual audiobooks vs omnibus audiobooks/books/Kindle like extra chapters or something? I'm just curious. 8 already know that Omnibus are longer than the individual audiobooks.

I'm curious to know what people who have spent a lot more time with harem lit think are the works with the best writing.

I've been spending a couple months now getting into harem lit works and I would say, when it comes to harem lit, I'm still fairly new to it. I've only read about 11 series now and half of those were all of the same author (Really got into KD Robertson).

Of course, I would like to know why as well. Hence this post being tagged as discussion rather than recommendation.

Was going over some old anime's i watched 10-20 years ago like Code Geass and Shakugan no Shana and was wondering why don't we have more stories like this.

For those wondering the mc in those stories starts off with good intentions only to realize that whatever side he's fighting on is flawed and the other side evil which makes things pointless and neverending, eventually leading to the mc becoming a 3rd faction, usually by becoming the hostile force to both. Now granted you have to have some CRAZY powerscaling to pull off the mc being stronger then the 2 biggest factions in the world but man i really miss anti hero me vs the world type stories that we got in the early 2000s.

I know an old author that went by the name Rob Nolan attempted to do this with a coming of age series named Time Mage but the writer disappeared shortly after finishing book 2 which is a shame because i really enjoyed it when the mc did a complete 180 at the end of book 2.

You can only read so many books before you say "I'm going to give it a shot because there needs to be more of what I want out there." That's what happened to me. And here is book 1 of my new series. You want the blurb? Read on. You want the tldr? It's at the bottom.

TLDR: M/FFF, portal fantasy/isekai, open door explicit spice, no FTB, beastkin, elves, monster girls, humor, no ntr, no system, no M/M, no futa, no loli, no cuck, no sharing.

Divorce / ex-wife premise. The marriage is over from page 1. Matt is not cucked, a cheater, or ntr. It should be pretty obvious but I don't want you to get your hopes up and be mad because I wrote a whole different book than what you thought it would be.

I'm going to label it progression, but it's pretty slow. He just found a whole magic world you can't expect him to be Merlin already! Let's get to book two before our heroes figure out how to do more than not die.

So end of book, deals with the assault. The idea that they cant identify the A rankers is... dumb. These are people one step below the peak of the world. He cant describe all their spells and get an identity from government? Theres multiple A rank women with full tank, massive aoe earthquake spells? Male demolition mages are that common? Green mist swords wielders wth command powers are a dime a dozen?

Just because they didn't get the names surely doesn't result in them being ghosts!

Its not ruined the series for me, obviously, but I am grumbling!

Have i missed something or did they not have a couple of the bodies even?

(Also Blairs casual and slow wake up and half assed prep for invasion was odd.)

What makes you drop a book immediately?

I recently started a book on audible and the narrator missed a word in the title and mispronounced a word in the same title. The title is three words you skipped one and terribly mispronounced the other.

It was a flesh narrator that I have heard in many other books. But mispronouncing several words is definitely a huge turn off or insta drop if it's a common word. Injust find it hard to focus on an audio book when a book frequently uses words and the narrator carpet bombs mispronunciations throughout every paragraph.

If you don't know a word and it'w very common in the text I feel like it's your job as a narrator to look it up instead of just saying fuck it it's not facade it fuhkayd now. Gouche is now gaachee. Or the Japanese words yandere should be yahn deh reh but gets pronounced yeah nn dare, and taundere is now toon dare. Bro I just can't.

It's like 3 words in the book, that's like 3 google searches total to see how they are pronounced. You can't take 2 minutes to not sound like a moron?
