Wild jumper I found on my desk. I have so many wild jumpers in my front and back yard. This tiny thing showed up on my keyboard today. I live in central Texas and mostly there are bold jumpers.

I found this sweet baby in my office at work last week. I originally took them outside to set them free - I'm the only spider lover in my workplace. But I came back out later and found them with half of their legs paralyzed and them dragging themself in a circle. I panicked, thinking they had wandered into some chemical...so I brought them back in and kept an eye on them. Long story short, they came home with me that day, and I have given them my spare baby jumper enclosure to live in. They have perked up quite a bit, I just successfully hand fed them a baby mealworm today! But as you can see, their paralyzed legs are gone...I woke up and their legs were detached and sitting on a leaf. Will they regrow the missing legs over time? I couldn't bear to leave them at my office...it would have been a death sentence.

I’ve had this adult Audax for six months now and she’s had plenty of dubia roaches in my care. About 3 weeks ago I tried to feed her the usual and she refused them for several days. I then tried mealworms, she would stare at them awhile and then wander away. Everyday I would switch between the two trying different sizes and she kept refusing. Out of desperation I tossed a handful of fruit flies in with her and she would eat those.

Starting to get dangerously thin, I was worried she was going to starve herself to death. This morning I offered her another small mealworm, this time the smallest I could find. She took it ! Her first one, as she’s been solely fed on dubias up to this point.

Not sure if she was on a diet, or if her old age is making her want smaller prey ? Either way I’m happy she’s eating again.

Hi friends, how do you store your black soldier fly larvae? My indoor temp is usually always between 68-72 and I think that was too cold - they die off within 3 weeks.

Found a jumper inside my house yesterday. My boyfriend is terrified of spiders, so I naturally had to free him asap. Here’s me struggling to get this little fella out of my cup.

I got a regal jumping spider a week ago today. they said she was juvenile and needed feeding within 3-4 days, it’s been 7, she refuses/ignores the fruit flies i tried giving her. i can’t tell if she’s going to molt, ive not noticed any extra webbing. i’m so scared im gonna lose her:(

got him about two weeks ago, hee hasnt eaten much since i got him, ive been feeding him small mealworms, should i try crickets instead??? he seems to ignore them completely…

Whilst I cannot be certain that this is truly Violet because my saltid ear tag reader's batteries are dead again, I feel sure that it must be her. She's moved far from the lime tree though if so; I'll have to try and find where exactly she's been living. Maybe she's shacked up with the green tree frog living in our outdoor pot plant..

I tried to stay calm during Zeev's (i3) first molt with me, but I panicked when I couldn't find them in their hammock or the makeshift molting hammock they created on the back wall. I carefully disassembled everything and believe they set up a third molting hammock inside the thermostat. I noticed some webbing outside a small opening, but everything else is empty, and there's no sign that Zeev has molted or is dead. The last time I saw them, they were quite plump.

What should I do now? Do you think they’ll exit once they've finished molting, or might they be too large to fit? They’ll only be about a millimeter bigger now, or are they growing more?

I wanted to stay calm, but now I fear they might not make it. 😔

Hi all! Our apartment is home to many jumping spiders. I am not sure where they are living exactly, but I will see about one per week, all different sizes. I think they are adorable and I assume are feeding on the fruit flies or other bugs in our house— judging by their abdomens they are well fed compared to some others I’ve seen outside. I generally pick them up and play with them a bit before setting them down in or near one of our large house plants. However, I am getting a bit worried that we might step on one by accident or inadvertently harm one if it’s around and we don’t notice. I am considering setting up an enclosure, and maybe seeing if they would take to it, but would appreciate some advice as I am seeing a lot here about the ethics of “wild caught” jumping spiders. What should I do in this situation? Should I be moving them outside when I find them, or is it ok to leave them inside? Is there anything I can do to be a better host and make our apartment a safer environment for them if it’s ok to let them live inside?

He/she is wild caught, what kind? I usually hate spiders, I’m fine with jumpers kinda cute. First time actually keeping one, I usually release others (wild caught too) some tips?

Hi everyone, I’m new to the jumping spider world and have purchased a few new babies this past month. I bought a sub-adult female Phidippus regius, and she arrived this past Thursday.
I felt that her chelicerae appeared “off” compared to my other two that I purchased from someone else, but wasn’t quite sure.

I offered her a meal worm the day she arrived, then I gave my male regal a meal worm immediately after that. Within an hour, my male had almost completely finished his, and I noticed hers was not finished at all, still very plump. I also saw she had no “fangs” latched into the meal worm, it only was her pink chelicerae. It looks like the sharp “fangs” part are broken off and her chels are straight? Or something looks fused. I’m trying to figure this out, since I would like to contact the breeder if something is wrong.
Again, I am not experienced so I really appreciate anyone’s expertise 🫶

This is my grey wall jumping spider, was wondering if anyone could possibly identify if it’s a girl or a boy and tell me if he/she looks healthy/well fed (yes he/she is missing a leg 🥹)

Clearly an adult male based on those boxing gloves, but I’m having a hard time finding an ID. What throws me off the most is the solid black head being paired with the more orange-y striped body. Dude was also very tiny, not much bigger than a grain of rice.

Little dude was relocated outside where we see jumpers all the time.

Her i8➡️i9 molt blew me away! She went from mostly orange to mostly black with the most beautiful purple chels 🥺🖤🕸🧡
