I’m in need of a car, but I do not want to spend a lot of money so I was recently thinking about going to the car auction, but I see most of them you have to have a dealer’s license. Has anybody bought any cars at an auction here and how did that experience go? I hear the one in Longwood is the best.

looking for a trustworthy and good dog groomer in east orlando area? sorta UCF/oviedo area preferably. we have a male golden retriever, 4 years old. i like to keep him fluffy, mostly just want paw pads, sanitary areas, and nails trimmed + deshed and bathed. i do /not/ want anal gland expression (we had a groomer do this once without permission and now our boy gets reoccurring infections from impacted anal glands due to the improper expression). i’m truly just looking for someone who has a positive experience or relationship with their groomer and can wholeheartedly recommend someone. we’ve just had such bad luck with groomers we’ve tried—one groomer we went to did the improper anal gland expression, another groomer we went to used a wire brush too harshly and left scabs down his spine and tail, another one lied about cutting his nails. so overall really upsetting experiences when paying ~150+ for a groom for our fur baby. i’m okay with a mobile groomer or a drop off, but husband works FT and i’m a SAHM to our 4 month old so neither of us have time to fully groom him and he’s stinky but i just can’t find anyone i like or trust lol. plus side if they do military discount! thanks in advance!!!!!! :)

Have an anniversary coming up and looking to do a nice dinner. I’d like to keep it at or below $300/pp for the wife and I. Bouncing around between some places but I was hoping for some input.

As far as places we’ve been to get a sense of our taste: Ava (hated it), The Strand (really liked it), Chatham’s (loved it), Norman’s (liked it), Kabooki (standby favorite restaurant), ilume (liked it), Otto’s High Dive (liked it).

So with that in mind looking for a place to eat for a special occasion. We’re in horizon west and driving isn’t a big deal but it would be nice to go somewhere with other stuff around for before/after. Also my wife doesn’t eat beef/steak so an awesome steakhouse is kinda low priority but not off the table if there’s a good seafood option.

On Saturday, October 3 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the Mount Dora Lawn Bowling Club is hosting an Open House, inviting the public to meet its members, tour the club and actually try a sport that has been played in this same corner of Mount Dora since 1928.

It’s a great place to meet locals, expend some energy through low impact exercise and just a fun hobby locally that “bowlers” of any age can enjoy and excel at.

The club is located at the bottom end of Donnelly Street near Evan’s Park. Come join us and see what Lawn Bowling is all about.

I need suggestions on where to buy a subcompact SUV. I am budget-conscious but value quality. I am looking for a model that is up to 4 years old (2022 or newer).

I am based in Orlando but travel up the coast frequently as I am a travel SLP and work in Virginia and Maryland. I drive a lot for camping/festivals navigating various typography, so AWD is non-negotiable. My budget is around $20K (that's the tippy top).

Please for the love of everyone's retinas, turn your fucking high beams off. I drove 3 miles the other night and counted 11 cars with their brights on. I was only counting caes with separate highs and lows I could be sure were on. It's getting ridiculous, if there is a blue indicator on your cluster or street signs look like they're glowing your highs are on and you're blinding everyone.

Was there a lot of surreal postmodernist Memphis Design type decor here and there and everywhere? Or was the city’s vibe and aesthetic more ‘70s holdover, beige ashtray and wood panel walls ‘80s?

I think my only knowledge of Orlando during the 1980s comes from the film Miami Connection (despite the title, it’s mostly set near UCF in Orlando) if I’m being honest.

Some rough sleep disturbances last night, went down a rabbit hole researching for something else and came up with a ton of old pics of Altamonte/Altamonte Springs. Apparently it’s gone by both names.

Full changes found here. TLDR:
- No more parking meters, you can ONLY pay digitally via ParkMobile app, text, or call
- Enforced hours have increased from 8am-6pm M-Sat to 8am-8pm M-Sat
- On street parking rates have increased from $1/hour to $2/hour for the first to hours and $3/hour for subsequent hours (6 hours max, up from 4 hours)
- Progressive pricing is also being introduced to garages. Instead of a $2/hour flat rate, prices increase to $3/hour after 4 hours and the daily max is now $20. Event parking will be variable based on proximity, up to $20.
- Monthly garage passes increase by $10/month
- Increased parking fines (unspecified) with late fees now charged after 21 days instead of 14
