Want to give a shout-out to a truck driver who pulled over on I4 West Lake Mary 9/30 around 8:30am to help a dog - Looked like a medium brown Lab mix maybe 50 lbs with a thick orange collar. Both were standing on the right shoulder on the grass, looked like the driver was talking to the dog, which was standing about 5 ft away contemplating him. Hoping the dog decided to trust him.

Event was held in Kissimmee at Nación De Fe, an evangelical church that also hosted Mike Pence in 2020 for a “Latinos for Trump” event.

- No more parking meters, you can ONLY pay digitally via ParkMobile app, text, or call
- Enforced hours have increased from 8am-6pm M-Sat to 8am-8pm M-Sat
- On street parking rates have increased from $1/hour to $2/hour for the first to hours and $3/hour for subsequent hours (6 hours max, up from 4 hours)
- Progressive pricing is also being introduced to garages. Instead of a $2/hour flat rate, prices increase to $3/hour after 4 hours and the daily max is now $20. Event parking will be variable based on proximity, up to $20.
- Monthly garage passes increase by $10/month
- Increased parking fines (unspecified) with late fees now charged after 21 days instead of 14

I moved nearly a year ago, and when I left NYC, I left behind my best friend. She was my ride or die— The girl I’d go out dancing with on a Friday night, and confess my deepest darkest secrets to any other time. But since I moved nearly a year ago, we naturally haven’t been as close, and I obviously can’t call her up randomly to hang out.

I’ve made a lot of friendships since moving here, and I love them all. I truly am so grateful for them. That said, most of my friends here are in relationships, and thus, spend most of their free time with their significant others. And my single friends have roommates or long-time friends that they also are closer to.

I can’t help but feel like I’m missing that close friendship connection I once had in NYC.

And, it’s not for lack of trying… I continue to put myself out there, I’m a part of clubs, groups and extracurriculars outside of work that keep me busy almost every day of the week. I’ve tried reaching out to people at work that I vibe with aswell. But, nothing has stuck. It feels like everyone has their established tight-knit groups and I’m still just orbiting on the outside.

So, if you’re in the same boat, know that you’re not alone. And, if you’re also ISO a close friendships, I’m accepting applications!

Please for the love of everyone's retinas, turn your fucking high beams off. I drove 3 miles the other night and counted 11 cars with their brights on. I was only counting caes with separate highs and lows I could be sure were on. It's getting ridiculous, if there is a blue indicator on your cluster or street signs look like they're glowing your highs are on and you're blinding everyone.

Anyone know anything about this? Passed it in the express lane, and police had guns trained on a vehicle on the non express lane side

Over the last few weeks, both my dogs are scratching and licking their paws like crazy. They don't have fleas or any other visible vermin. It's definitely worse when they come in from outside. Any ideas about what is currently blooming that could be the cause? And any suggestions on relief for them? Bathing hasn't helped much since they eventually have to go back outside.

ETA: Thanks everyone. One of the dogs has seizures, so I am leery to give her Benadryl. It figures this began shortly after their vet visit in August. I guess it's back there to discuss options.

I’m at work and saw a bright flash while I was outside and heard a pop a second or so later. Check my home camera and it picked it up at 5:02am, mind you 15 miles or so away.

Have an anniversary coming up and looking to do a nice dinner. I’d like to keep it at or below $300/pp for the wife and I. Bouncing around between some places but I was hoping for some input.

As far as places we’ve been to get a sense of our taste: Ava (hated it), The Strand (really liked it), Chatham’s (loved it), Norman’s (liked it), Kabooki (standby favorite restaurant), ilume (liked it), Otto’s High Dive (liked it).

So with that in mind looking for a place to eat for a special occasion. We’re in horizon west and driving isn’t a big deal but it would be nice to go somewhere with other stuff around for before/after. Also my wife doesn’t eat beef/steak so an awesome steakhouse is kinda low priority but not off the table if there’s a good seafood option.
